Why we want you

Join the Make-A-Wish UK Volunteer team on Sunday 13th September 2026 and cheer on our incredible runners at The Great North Run Cheer Spot!

We would be so grateful for your support, and your presence will make all the difference to our #WishHero runners. It’s one of the best days that is full of joy, and your time will help us to grant more wishes!

Arrive: 10:00am Approximate Finish: 3:00pm Location: Tyne Bridge, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Nearest train station: Newcastle Station

Bring your energy, your enthusiasm, and your friends and family too if you like! Join us now for an amazing volunteering experience

What you will be doing

  • Cheering on our runners at the cheer spot
  • Representing Make-A-Wish UK on the day with your fellow volunteers

  • A warm, enthusiastic and friendly manner
