Overall Purpose of the Role

Youth Action Alliance (YAA) exists to support the personal and social development of young people in Kensington and Chelsea and neighbouring boroughs, helping them build resilience, confidence, and skills for the present while shaping positive futures.

We are seeking an experienced, values-driven male youth worker to lead the Staying Connected & Boys Project. This is a key role combining strategic leadership with hands-on delivery, focused on engaging boys and young men aged 11–19 (up to 21, subject to funding) who may be facing multiple challenges.

The post holder will design, deliver, and grow a high-quality, trauma-informed programme that provides safe, trusted spaces through weekly group sessions, one-to-one mentoring, targeted interventions, education attainment, Advice, guidance, and signposting, Off‑site trips, enrichment activities, and holiday provision. The role supports young people to remain connected to education, training, positive relationships, and their wider community, while playing a central role in shaping YAA’s youth offer and driving meaningful, lasting change.

Main purpose of post  

As the Operations Assistant you will be supporting the Operations Manager in delivering and maintaining effective operational function at the charity. Including but not exclusively, Health & Safety, Premises, Facilities, Vehicle Management, and IT Services.

Key Responsibilities 

Operational Support 

• Act as the first point of contact for premises, facilities, IT and Estates issues across all Weston Park Cancer Charity locations including our Outreach programmes.

• Assist the Operations Manager in maintaining a secure and organised premises and facilities, which ensure colleagues, volunteers and visitors are safe and experience a welcoming environment.

• Support the Operations Manager in the successful delivery of the Annual Operations plan.

• Provide administrative support to the Operations Manager and take minutes in operations-related working groups. 

• Support with updating operational policies and procedures.

• Act as a first point of contact for data related issues, alongside the Operations Manager - following relevant training, to promote a strong GDPR culture.

• Assist in the coordination of charity vehicle fleet maintenance schedules and provide breakdown response support. 

• Assist in the control and coordination of the use of charity space and assets, including liaising with contractors and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals (STH) on relevant matters as required.

• Act as a designated keyholder, responsible for the opening and closing procedure. 

• Manage the operations shared email inbox. 

Site 

• Event site working as required across South Yorkshire. 

• Community working locations to facilitate our work in targeted outreach communities. 

Health & Safety 

• Serve as the first point of contact for all Health & Safety matters, including incidents and accidents, ensuring accurate recording and reporting. 

• Provide operational and administrative support on all Health & Safety matters at our sites and external locations (including external events and the Outreach Service, updating COSHH reports). 

• Assist in the procurement, delivery and recording of mandatory staff training needs. 

• Help establish and maintain safe working practices and policies and undertake basic risk assessments. 

Workwear and equipment 

• Act as the first point of contact for workwear and equipment requests; including being responsible for issuing and returning stock, regular stock checks and ordering stock as required. 

Tech Support 

• Serve as the first point of contact for general IT enquiries. 

• Consult with IT consultants to ensure adherence to processes. 

• Work with the Operations Manager to implement processes that maintain the IT security score.

• Assist in the onboarding and offboarding of employees, including software licenses, logins, and induction training. 

• Serve as lead administrator for key operational software, such as Webex phone system and Vatix Lone Worker App. 

General Administrative Support & Development 

• Handle general enquiries from staff, patients, and volunteers efficiently.

• Manage charity postal enquiries.

• Assist the Operations Manager with the procurement of stationery and consumables.

• Assist the wider team with ad hoc work and undertake small projects that support the charity's work. e.g. Events, Logistical and Tech Support. 

Environmental Advocate 

• Work with the Operations Manager to promote environmental awareness and encourage the charity adopts a green approach (e.g., recycling, energy use, carbon footprint). 

• Identify and implement actions to reduce environmental impacts, costs, and/or increase income under the direction of the Operations Manager. 

Hours: 

• This post may require some flexible working. The charity offers an excellent Time in Lieu policy for hours completed outside of your normal working hours.

THE CHARITY

Suicide is the leading cause of death of men under 35 and three quarters of those who die by suicide are men. James’ Place exists to save the lives of men in suicidal crisis through delivering clinical services. We are a charity currently offering free, life-saving therapy to suicidal men at our centres in Liverpool, London and Newcastle.

James’ Place was set up by Clare Milford Haven and Nick Wentworth-Stanley in 2008 after their twenty-one-year-old son, James, died by suicide ten days after a minor operation. James had no history of mental illness or depression and had sought urgent help for anxiety and suicidal thoughts but didn’t find it.   

James' Place was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. We offer men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected.  We provide a calm and peaceful environment both inside the centres and in our outside spaces, accessible to men who visit us as well as their friends and families. We have so far treated over 4,300 men who might otherwise have been unable to access the support they desperately need.

In early 2026 we will be opening our fourth centre in Birmingham. Our new centre in Birmingham will be there to support suicidal men living in the West Midlands.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking to recruit a Clinical Administrator to support the administration and operations processes at our new James’ Place centre in Birmingham, due to open in Spring 2026. You will be the first point of contact for men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis and their supporters and will take a key role in in facilitating a warm and welcoming introduction to the centre. You will be expected to set and maintain the tone of the experience at James’ Place and provide efficient and effective administrative support to the centre team. Under the guidance of the Centre Manager, you will process referrals, conduct accurate record keeping and help to ensure the centre runs safely and smoothly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Administration

· Covering daily administrative tasks and duties at James’ Place Birmingham including:

· Being the first point of contact for referrers and men in distress, greeting visitors, answering the phone, booking appointments, and responding to email enquiries.

· Dealing with enquiries over email and telephone, scheduling/amending appointments and taking messages as required.

· Speaking to men in distress who have contacted the centre and, where appropriate, taking self-referrals over the phone.

· Processing referrals and maintaining accurate records at all times in line with our administrative procedures.

· Supporting users of the service to access information about other agencies.

· Maintaining an effective appointment system ensuring all the resources at James’ Place are used efficiently.

· Recording and collating data to support the effective evaluation and monitoring of James’ Place.

· Providing admin support to the wider team as required e.g. recording and sharing meeting minutes.

Operations

· Maintaining a safe and tidy environment in all areas of the centre and monitoring/replenishing stocks.

· Supporting the Centre Manager to conduct routine Health & Safety checks and assessments.

· Completing electronic filing, shredding, and general office admin.

· Providing occasional administrative support to the Centre Manager, Head of Centre, and the Senior Management Team. 

· Following Health and Safety procedures around safety alarms, security, heating, lighting, electrical equipment, and lone working.

· Managing refuse and recycling collections, ensuring it is collected by the contractors each week.

You will feel comfortable using the full Office 365 suite and have the necessary organisation skills to maintain the highest standards of record keeping.  You will support the wider teams to deliver our effective intervention, therefore an ability to work collaboratively is essential. You will be able to work proactively and have a high level of attention to detail.

The Operational Support Worker plays a vital role in enabling the team to offer compassionate, Christ centred support to vulnerable women. We are seeking an experienced and diligent HR Administrator to provide HR admin support to the organisation. You will be responsible for all HR administration, including the production of HR paperwork, and serve as the day-to-day generalist HR contact for all employees. We do not currently have HR software, so reviewing our requirements in this area would be one of your responsibilities. 

This is part-time fixed-term position, as we review the organisation’s needs in this area, and will be subject to review and possible extension at the end of six months.

As a small charity (c. 35 staff including part-time and casual workers), the role will require balancing practical tasks with more senior HR responsibilities. Kinship is undertaking a major feasibility RCT of Kinship Connected, a Kinship Navigator Programmes.

This is a complex, multi-partner programme involving funders, independent evaluators, local authorities, internal delivery teams and kinship carers with lived experience.

The Programmes Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the programme runs smoothly day to day. This is a technically demanding, detail-heavy role requiring excellent administration, strong initiative and the ability to anticipate what is needed next.

The Programmes Officer works closely and day-to-day with the Mobilisation and Delivery Project Manager and is a key part of the core delivery spine of the Kinship Navigator feasibility RCT.

The role provides structured operational, administrative and coordination support that enables the Mobilisation and Delivery Project Manager to maintain oversight of timelines, risks, dependencies and delivery quality.

This role requires someone who is comfortable working at pace, highly responsive to direction, and able to anticipate what the Mobilisation and Delivery Project Manager will need next in order to keep the programme running smoothly and evidence-ready.

Please note - we are looking for people who can start immediately ideally. This is due to the nature of the mobilisation and delivery timescales. 

Purpose of the role:
To support the Mobilisation and Delivery Project Manager in mobilising and delivering the Kinship Navigator feasibility RCT through exceptional administration, proactive coordination and anticipatory problem-solving.

You will act as a trusted operational support, ensuring systems, data, documentation and local engagement activity are accurate, well organised and up to date, allowing the Mobilisation and Delivery Project Manager to focus on delivery oversight, risk management and external accountability.

Key responsibilities:

Programme delivery and coordination

• Support mobilisation activities across all workstreams, ensuring actions, documentation and timelines are tracked and followed up.
• Maintain delivery plans, action logs and trackers using Asana.
• Support coordination of onboarding activities with local authorities and internal teams.
• Ensure all operational documents are version-controlled, accessible and kept up to date.
• Flag emerging issues, risks or capacity pressures early, with clear evidence.
  

Local authority engagement and ecosystem mapping

• Coordinate local engagement activity across participating local authorities, including planning, logistics and follow-up for local events.
• Map each local authority’s kinship care ecosystem, including statutory services, voluntary and community organisations, referral pathways and gaps in provision.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date local authority profiles and ecosystem maps.
• Ensure local intelligence is captured consistently and stored accessibly using agreed systems (e.g. Notion).

Outreach and local marketing support

• Support outreach and engagement activity by helping develop programme-specific marketing and engagement materials, working with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure alignment with Kinship’s brand and messaging.
• Adapt and manage local collateral for each participating local authority, ensuring materials are accurate, up to date and easy to use.
• Maintain clear version control and accessible storage of outreach materials, incorporating feedback from local partners where appropriate.
• Use Canva, Padlet and other agreed tools to adapt and produce local materials for events, Communities of Practice and local authority engagement.

Communities of Practice support

• Provide operational support to the Head of Programmes in coordinating Communities of Practice in each participating local authority.
• Support scheduling, logistics, materials and follow-up actions.
• Capture learning, actions and insights clearly and consistently.
• Support translation of local learning into insight for programme improvement and future scale-up.
  

Administrative excellence and anticipation

• Deliver a consistently high standard of administration across the programme.
• Maintain clear, structured and accurate records across all systems.
• Anticipate upcoming needs, deadlines and risks, taking initiative to address them early.
• Proactively prepare information, materials and updates without needing to be prompted.
• Act as a reliable operational anchor, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
• Anticipate the information, updates and preparation the Mobilisation and Delivery Project Manager will need to manage delivery effectively.
  

Data, systems and technical delivery

• Maintain accurate and timely data entry across Salesforce and related systems.
• Support data quality checks and evaluator requirements.
• Use Asana, Salesforce, Notion and Canva confidently and fluently.
• Support documentation, manualisation and knowledge management.
• Ensure systems are used consistently and to a high technical standard.

Coordination, reporting and communications

• Coordinate meetings, agendas, notes and follow-up actions.
• Support preparation of dashboards, updates and reports.
• Ensure information is shared clearly, accurately and on time.

Overall Purpose of the Role

Youth Action Alliance (YAA) is seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and values-driven Support Youth Worker to support the delivery of two key strands of our youth offer: the Girls Project and the Youth Advisory Board (YAB).

Youth Advisory Board (YAB) (Friday)

The Youth Advisory Board is a group of young people aged 11–19 who act as advisors to Youth Action Alliance. YAB members amplify youth voice across YAA’s work, contribute to decision-making, attend meetings and events, lead consultations, and develop skills in leadership, communication, and civic engagement.

Following a successful application to the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, we are seeking a Youth Worker to lead on systems change as part of our Brighter Rainbow Project. A key requirement of the post is to hold a JNC Level 6 Youth and Community Work qualification or equivalent (or due to complete 2026- 2027). About the Role

Specialist Support Workers provide support to women affected by multiple disadvantage, including those who have experienced domestic and/or sexual violence, have significant mental ill health, and/or use substances.

You will ensure the smooth running of the refuge, including processing and admitting new referrals, ensuring rent and personal charges are paid, maintaining rooms and communal areas, overseeing general housekeeping, organising repairs, and responding to crisis situations. You will work with women to develop Support Plans that meet their immediate practical and emotional needs and support their recovery, linking them with specialist services where required.

You will work in a trauma‑informed way and ideally have experience supporting people with significant mental ill health and/or substance use needs.

About You

The ideal candidate will have in‑depth knowledge of multiple disadvantages and their impact on women, as well as experience providing emotional and practical support to those affected by homelessness, substance misuse, the criminal justice system and mental ill health.

You will have experience managing risk and following case management procedures to meet the needs of a diverse client group. You will be able to work with women to help them understand their needs, complete risk assessments, develop safety plans, and engage effectively with other agencies.

You will have working knowledge of legal remedies, housing and welfare benefits, and experience delivering workshops.

In addition to case management duties, you will be required to undertake housing management responsibilities, including health and safety tasks and supporting the upkeep of the accommodation. You will have excellent administrative and time‑management skills.
