1. Proactively engage bereaved families with the support service, respond to bereavement support enquiries and ensure anyone seeking advice and support on bereavement is given a high-quality service in a timely way.
•To be the primary contact for the bereavement support digital services including WhatsApp, text, webchat and other social media channels.

About the role
The main purpose of this role is to provide quality support to children and young people who are victims and survivors of sexual violence. You will be responsible for completing comprehensive initial needs and risk assessments, developing and delivering personalised safety and support plans for clients, many of whom have additional vulnerabilities and have complex needs.
You will need to be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with the Police, statutory and voluntary agencies to deliver the best possible outcomes within a multi-agency setting. As well as being tenacious in support of your clients and adept at problem solving.
To be successful in this role you will need to be approachable, flexible and caring, demonstrating empathy at all times. You will have had lengthy experience of direct service delivery (casework) with people with complex needs (ideally with children) and will have a good understanding of the impact of sexual violence offences on victims and survivors and of safeguarding issues. You will also have an excellent understanding of and commitment to the promotion of equal opportunities and diversity.
IT literacy is a must and candidates must evidence both the ability to use bespoke packages and excellence in their recording practice. If you do not possess an ISVA accreditation, we will fund this learning as it essential for the role. The role also requires enhanced DBS and police vetting.
This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. Department background
The Debt Advice Team at Toynbee Hall provides crucial support to individuals and families struggling with financial burdens. Funded by the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), this team delivers expert guidance and practical solutions to help clients manage and reduce their debt.
Scope of Role
The Traineeship will last for 12 months. This role involves gaining practical experience by observing and participating in interviews to understand clients’ financial problems, researching options, and helping clients make informed decisions. The role includes structured classroom-based learning, supervised practice, and mandatory secondments across partner advice agencies in London.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accurate, Effective, and Individually Tailored Advice
Work under supervision to observe and learn how to provide effective debt advice, including interviewing clients, researching options, and empowering clients to make informed decisions.
2. Detailed Case Records
Assist in maintaining detailed case records, ensuring all work meets auditing and quality standards, and meets funder requirements.
3. Training and Development
Complete a structured training programme within the six-month period, covering technical debt advice, client management, and financial regulations. During the initial training period, trainees will be expected to attend intensive classroom-based training and supervised learning activities four to five days per week. Additional training will be based on shadowing, on-site learning, tests, external training courses, etc.
4. Teamwork
Be an active member of the team, identifying opportunities for your development and contributing to collective goals.
5. Travel
Travel across London is required, including attendance at partner organisations, advice sites, and mandatory secondment placements across London boroughs.
Following the initial training period, the role will require a minimum of four days per week working from Toynbee Hall or partner office locations. One additional working day from home may be agreed where there is a suitable home-working environment and this aligns with operational requirements.

The successful candidate will bring significant experience in human rights due diligence, ethical trade and international labour standards within complex supply chain environments. They will have strong knowledge of the Food, Farming & Fisheries sector and experience engaging a broad range of stakeholders including businesses, trade unions, NGOs, government bodies and international organisations.
We are seeking someone with excellent relationship-building, facilitation and influencing skills, who is confident navigating complex stakeholder environments and driving meaningful collaboration and change. The role requires strategic thinking, sound judgement and the ability to translate organisational objectives into impactful sector initiatives and workstreams.
The role will also lead external engagement relevant to the sector, represent ETI at national and international events, and contribute to policy dialogue and wider organisational objectives including member engagement and organisational growth.
