Supporter Engagement & Fundraising Communications Manager — Go Beyond £35,000–£37,000 | Fully Remote | Permanent | Full-time
Go Beyond has given over 21,000 vulnerable children life-changing residential breaks since 1994. Young carers who spend their days looking after parents. Children living in poverty for whom a school holiday means hunger, not adventure. Kids who've been bullied or bereaved and need a week away from their ordinary life.
The charity is entirely self-funded. £1.8 million a year, every penny raised by supporters. No government money. Which means the work this fundraising team does is directly and specifically what makes those breaks possible.
This is the role that sits at the heart of that.
What makes this moment unusual:
Go Beyond's flagship campaign, Ice Cream Moments, launches this summer — backed by Louis Theroux, James Acaster, David Gower and Jenny Agutter. The trustees want to go viral. A legacy programme is built and ready to launch. An alumni programme connecting with 21,000+ former beneficiaries is research-complete and waiting for someone to open the door. And a loyal supporter base of 200–300 regular givers — many of whom have been giving for over a decade — is generating £90,000 a year with almost no stewardship behind it.
Sara, the Director of Fundraising, describes what's needed like this: "Think of this as your own company. Think of this income stream as your domain — you could make it something amazing."
What the role involves:
The Supporter Engagement & Fundraising Communications Manager will own the supporter communications function end to end. This is a project management and strategy role — not an execution role. The doing sits with two direct reports and a network of freelancers. Your job is to build the plan, manage the team, deliver the campaigns and make sure the data tells you what's working.
In practice that means:
- Building and managing proper supporter journeys for regular givers, challenge event runners and Ice Cream Moments donors
- Project managing the full campaigns calendar — four annual appeals, Ice Cream Moments, challenge events, and a growing digital communications programme
- Developing and implementing a data strategy, setting up income dashboards and overseeing the CRM
- Launching the legacy programme and, in time, the alumni programme
- Managing two direct reports: a Digital Marketing Officer and a Data & Admin / Challenge Events Officer
- Writing an 18-month strategy with proper pipelines and income forecasts
What we're looking for:
This is not a pure fundraiser role or a pure marketing role. It's a hybrid — and the right person will see that as a feature, not a confusion.
- A track record of owning campaigns end to end — not being part of them, owning them. Specific examples, with dates, outputs and results
- Genuine data literacy — comfortable in a CRM, able to run queries, understand segmentation. Not expert-level, but curious enough that you're never caught out
- Financial awareness — you ask what the target is before anything else. You work backwards from an income number
- Hands-on as well as strategic — you can delegate and direct, but you can also do
- Strong project management — multiple workstreams, freelancers, deadlines you can't move
Charity sector experience is welcome but not essential. Commercial direct marketing, agency-side or individual giving backgrounds are all genuinely considered.

- Maintain and update a robust cross industry prospect pipeline, ensuring all prospects are accurately categorised and tracked.
- Undertake competitor and sector analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities, supporting Sands’ strategic positioning.
- Map networks and connections (internal and external) to support the expansion of Sands’ business development reach.
2. Outreach, Marketing & Engagement Support
- Support initial outreach to prospective partners, including email approaches, LinkedIn engagement, and follow-up communications.
- Support the planning and delivery of targeted online marketing activity to increase organisational visibility among corporate audiences.
- Develop engaging content for outreach - such as partner briefs, email templates, and introductory decks.
- Collaborate with the Engagement and Communications teams to ensure all external messaging reflects Sands’ brand and partnership priorities.
3. Database, Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate, GDPR compliant records on Sands’ CRM, ensuring all research, outreach and cultivation activity are fully logged and auditable.
- Produce regular reports and dashboards to support team activity planning and income forecasting.
- Track deadlines for proposals, reporting, stewardship requirements, and internal consultations.
- Support due diligence checks for all new prospects and record documentation in line with Sands’ ethical and data protection policies.
4. Partnership Materials, Proposals & Case Studies
- Support the creation of high-quality partnership assets, including pitch decks, proposals, stewardship packs, and impact summaries.
- Collate relevant organisational information and stories to support the development of compelling case studies.
- Work with internal colleagues to gather content on Sands’ programmes, events, research, and family stories to support tailored partnership pitches.
- Assist with developing template materials for more efficient proposal creation.
5. Internal Collaboration & Organisational Support
- Work closely with the Commercial Business Development Lead to coordinate new business activity and support cultivation of prospective corporate relationships.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Engagement, Communications, Events, Fundraising and Services to ensure partnership opportunities are strategically aligned.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor developments in education, skills and related policy areas, identifying what they mean for young people and Young Enterprise’s work.
- Support the development of Young Enterprise’s policy positions through research, analysis and evidence gathering.
- Help plan and deliver public affairs and stakeholder engagement activities, including events, parliamentary briefings and meetings.
- Contribute to campaigns that aim to influence policy and raise the profile of issues affecting young people.
- Draft high-quality written outputs such as consultation responses, meeting notes, articles and social media content.
- Support policy networks and relationships, including Secretariat support for the APPG for Financial Education for Young People.
- Work closely with colleagues across programmes, research, communications and fundraising to align policy priorities and messaging.
- Coordinate the practical organisation of policy events, meetings and stakeholder communications.
A few practical things
- This is a hybrid role, with a minimum requirement to work from our London office in Brunswick Square at least 8 days per month.
- The role involves regular travel to Westminster for meetings and events, and occasional travel to other parts of the UK.
- Occasional evening and weekend work will be required for events, with time off in lieu provided.
- There are no specific physical or manual handling requirements associated with this role.

The Role
As the Education Development Officer (EDO), you’ll work closely with CoSRH staff, clinical subject matter experts, organisational partners and suppliers to help develop, design, build and maintain the delivery of high-quality education and training programmes and resources. Working as part of a small, dynamic team you will enjoy the pace of a varied portfolio of activities as well as offering excellent member and learner services.

You will have:
- A degree level qualification or equivalent experience.

- Experience in developing learning that is delivered in-person and through a variety of digital systems.
- The ability to work independently in a pressurised environment to successfully manage a busy workload as well as being a proactive, considerate team member.

You will be part of a fantastic team, dedicated to making a real difference in defeating homelessness.

The Digital Acquisition and Supporter Journey Officer will focus on the hands‑on delivery and optimisation of paid digital campaigns, email marketing and digital journeys that introduce new audiences to The Passage, encourage initial engagement, and ongoing relationships with supporters. Working collaboratively with Fundraising and Communications colleagues, the postholder will help to build, test and embed effective approaches to achieve these goals.
Main duties
Digital Acquisition and Paid Advertising
- Coordinate the delivery and optimisation of paid digital campaigns across platforms such as Meta and Google to engage and retain supporters in-line with fundraising objectives.
- Support the delivery of paid activity aimed at raising brand awareness, introducing new audiences to The Passage and strengthening understanding of our work and impact.
- Work within agreed budgets, monitoring spend and performance and escalating issues as needed.
- Support campaign testing and learning by trialling audiences, creative and messaging and reporting on results.
- Work closely with Fundraising and Communications colleagues to ensure paid activity supports wider campaigns, appeals and events.
Supporter Journeys and Digital Engagement
