We support our Haringey residents in making positive changes in their alcohol or substance use recovery journey. We have one-to-one, group, and counselling services all under one roof. We understand that many people who want help with their substance use also face challenges with other areas including housing, employment, benefits, gambling, and smoking – we’re here to help.

You'll help people access the support they need by contacting clients, arranging appointments and assisting with clinic bookings. You'll also help keep our records accurate and up to date, supporting important projects that improve health outcomes for the people we work with.

As a Fundraising Volunteer, you’ll provide much-needed help looking after fundraising relationships, and with fundraising activities and events. You’ll help us look after the supporters who are fundraising for us — to make sure they’re happy and feel part of what we do. You’ll also support us with planning and running events, including preparation and making sure everything runs smoothly on the day.

In this role you’ll develop your organisation, communication and team working skills.

The Community Ambassador Volunteer role is a flexible, people-focused role where you'll represent MumsAid at local events, community fairs, business engagement opportunities, and awareness-raising activities. Acting as a friendly and knowledgeable ambassador, you'll help share information about our services, fundraising activities, and volunteering opportunities, helping more people learn about MumsAid. 

No previous experience is required. We will provide training, resources, and ongoing support to help you feel confident representing MumsAid in your community.

At Hestia we have gardens and outdoor spaces which require your support to bring these back to life by keeping them maintained. We are recruiting for volunteers to motivate and inspire staff and people living in our services to get involved in gardening.

We work with people who need support with their mental health across London and the South East. Our support ranges from registered accommodation services for people with severe mental health conditions to drop-in community and crisis services.

In the last year, 9,499 adults accessed Hestia’s mental health support.

We help people to feel safe, develop hope for a better future, and achieve their personal goals. These goals may include rebuilding relationships with family members and friends or connecting more with their local community.

What you will be doing

• Inspire and motivate staff and people in the services to get involved in maintaining and growing the garden
• To provide tips on how to maintain and grow the garden - sowing seeds, planting bulbs, taking cuttings
• Provide basic maintenance such as cutting the grass, emptying bins, managing weed control and leaf raking
• Lead in planting and nurturing new trees, flowers, and various plants
• Provide best practice on how to use the correct gardening tools
• Inspire people in our services and staff to maintain a clean garden
• Advise staff on the costs of plants and garden necessities

Our shops rely on a steady flow of stock to help raise vital funds for hospice care, and we're looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to help keep things moving.

As a Volunteer Van Mate, you'll travel with our drivers, delivering and collecting boxes, bags and other stock between our Distribution Centre and shops across Brighton, Hove and the surrounding area. It's a great opportunity to get out and about, be part of a supportive team, and make a real difference to the success of our charity shops.

Role Summary

To bring our vision to life, you will play a key role in shaping how Roots Academy tells its story visually. As a Videographer, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality video content that supports our educational programs, strengthens our online presence, and helps our message resonate deeply with audiences across digital platforms.

Key Tasks

• Plan, film, and capture high-quality video content for social media, campaigns, events, interviews, and educational content.
• Work collaboratively with content leads, marketers, and editors to deliver video assets aligned with campaign goals.
• Set up and manage camera, audio, and lighting equipment as needed for shoots.
• Ensure all footage is captured in line with Roots Academy's visual style and brand guidelines.
• Organise, label, and maintain video files and footage libraries in shared drives.
• Support with basic shot planning, scene composition, and creative direction where needed.

NYAS' Side by Side care leaver programme supports care-experienced young people leaving care. When young people leave care, they often struggle with isolation, homelessness, and living independently because they are often thrown into independence way before they're ready. Side by Side bridges the gap between care and adulthood. We want to give young people the support they need to really succeed, but just as importantly, we want to make them feel confident in knowing that somebody is by their side.

There's a lot you can do as a volunteer for Side by Side, including assisting young people with their transition to adulthood, discovering their aspirations and goals, and generally supporting and signposting them to help achieve these.

You do not need any special qualifications, but we are looking for dedicated people of all ages who are comfortable with mentoring and being a good role model for a  young person who may have experienced difficult times during their childhood. We ask that you are able to commit to a few hours each week for a minimum of 1 year.

You don't need any expert knowledge or personal experience of breast cancer – we are seeking people who can look at the information we produce and decide if it is easy to understand.

Breast Cancer UK produces its own literature and publications on a range of breast cancer risk factors and holds the Patient Information Forum (PIF) trusted mark. We are also a member of the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC). Our purpose is to provide practical information and advice about reducing the risk of breast cancer that is evidence-based, easy to read and user-involved. 

About the Public Engagement Panel: 

The main purpose of the Public Engagement Panel is to review and feedback on key information for the Breast Cancer UK website produced by the Science and Health Education Team. You’ll help us ensure the information is easy to read, understand and use, and is inclusive so that it reflects our diverse audiences. 

Additionally, the Public Engagement Panel will provide helpful insight and suggestions on future science and education resources so we can ensure they are relevant, accessible and engaging. 

As part of the Public Engagement Panel, you will: 

1. Undertake periodic reviews of Breast Cancer UK content on chemicals, diet, lifestyle or other risk factors for breast cancer, and/or our public health information and advice leaflets. 

1. Provide feedback to help inform content and resource development to reflect the public’s needs. 

1. Be invited to participate in an annual meeting organised by Breast Cancer UK. Participants in the annual meeting will be reimbursed for reasonable economy travel costs. 

You may also be invited to help review research grant applications to provide a public perspective on the proposed projects, alongside our Science Panel.

Members of the Public Engagement Panel are expected to spend approximately 4 hours each year on Panel-related work for Breast Cancer UK (excluding our annual in-person meeting).

Membership in the Public Engagement Panel is voluntary and will have an initial fixed term of 3 years that can be extended by up to another 3 years. 

About you: 

You don't need any experience reviewing health information, expert knowledge or personal experience of breast cancer.

To be eligible to be on the panel, you should not hold a science qualification higher than GCSE level or equivalent. This helps to provide insights from people who do not have a specialist background. If you are not sure whether this applies to you, just get in touch. 

You will need to have at least an intermediate level of English proficiency.
