- Is creative and confident in engaging young people, whether through music, sports, art, or other interests.
- Can work independently and as part of a team, managing a caseload and supporting residents with budgeting, benefits, and housing options.
- Has strong communication and IT skills, and ideally some knowledge of safeguarding, support plans, or key working.
- Brings transferable experience from youth work, education, housing, or similar sectors.

This is an exciting role working with the guidance of the Peer Coordinator and in partnership with the London Joint Working Group, local substance use services, the Harm Reduction Peer Support Lead will support the delivery of a peer led needle and syringe program (NSP) across the borough of Hackney at SWERVE the Harm Reduction Hub. This will include supporting delivery of the service and developing relationships and partnership working with local statutory and voluntary service providers who provide support and care for our potential client group.
The Female Harm Reduction Peer Support Lead will assist in the delivery of secondary NSP provision, naloxone distribution and educational workshops to communities where women are in need including outreach from the Hackney Harm Reduction Hub to for example sex workers, BAME communities, LGBTQI and people who suffer domestic and gender based violence, with a view to enhancing harm reduction provision across the area.

Overall Purpose of the Role
Youth Action Alliance (YAA) is seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and values-driven Support Youth Worker to support the delivery of two key strands of our youth offer: the Girls Project and the Youth Advisory Board (YAB).

We are seeking a creative, relational and passionate Children’s and Families’ Worker to join our newly forming team, working at the heart of the Cathedral’s life and mission with children, families and local communities.
Based at the Cathedral, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering engaging children’s work, including Sunday provision, early years activities, and creative opportunities that help children grow in their Christian faith and feel at home within the worshipping life of the Cathedral. You will need to hold a UK driving licence with access to car that can be used for work purposes. A creative self-starter who will support the service and look for innovative solutions to support clients with complex needs. You are confident professional relationship builder with have good awareness of Safeguarding procedures. Strong Administration skills and understanding of compliant behaviours also, experience of supporting. With good knowledge of the criminal justice system and awareness of other support provisions within the Hampshire area.

Sydenham Garden is seeking a Community Activities & Volunteering Lead on a Fixed term contract to end of December 2027 to join our team of 14 staff and approximately 70 volunteers in delivering adult mental health and dementia services in our beautiful garden settings in south-east London.
Position: Community Activities & Volunteering Lead
Contract: Fixed term to 31st December 2027, full time - 37.5 hours per week. Some regular working outside Monday-Friday 9-5 may be required, for which TOIL will be available. Part time and flexible working applications also considered.
Salary: £32,644 plus 6% pension contribution.
Annual Leave: 33 days inclusive of Bank Holidays.

About the role
Sydenham Garden, based in Lewisham in South-East London, is a unique wellbeing centre utilising its gardens, nature reserve and activity rooms to help people living with and recovering from mental and physical ill-health. We provide nature and arts based creative, social and therapeutic activities for co-workers (the name we give to our primary beneficiaries). With funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to help us ‘grow our community’ and increase the sustainability of our impact we’re seeking a Community Activities & Volunteering Lead to drive continuous improvement and development of volunteer-led community activities for the benefit of co-workers as well as managing the day to day running of our volunteer programme.
About you
You’ll have experience of recruiting, working with, and managing volunteers, including delivery of skill-building and development activities for volunteers with Lived Experience of mental and/or physical ill health. You’ll have excellent people skills and the ability to demonstrate sensitivity, kindness, and a person-centred understanding of different mental, physical, and neurological needs. You’ll have experience of delivering group activities and working with people with mental/physical-ill health and/or dementia. You’ll have line management experience and be able to provide strategic direction as well as be able to innovate and develop new initiatives and balance competing priorities while being willing to play a team role and get stuck into different activities.

Night Support Workers enable people with needs to manage their tenancies and live independent lives of their choosing in the community. Night Support Workers are responsible for ensuring continuity of a support service at night and for keeping customers and the building safe.
What you'll do:
- Building supportive, trusting relationships with customers and creating a positive atmosphere
- Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities
- Conducting key work sessions as required, that are innovative and engaging in order to achieve Support Plan goals
- Ensuring ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with customers within an attitude of 'positive risk taking'

- Working in partnership with the London Borough of Newham and East London Foundation Trust, Ibis House provides short-term, person-centred support to individuals who are medically fit for discharge from mental health inpatient services but face other barriers to discharge. These barriers may include housing issues, independent living skills, access to benefits, community engagement, or other support needs.
- The service also supports individuals experiencing a mental health or psychological crisis where hospital admission may be considered, but where the person is not too unwell or distressed to safely benefit from a step-up bed stay.
- Ibis House accepts referrals from the community, particularly in the early stages of relapse, with the aim of preventing further deterioration, avoiding hospital admission, and reducing the likelihood of full relapse.
- The primary aim of the service is to provide time-limited support that connects individuals with appropriate longer-term services, helping to reduce escalation of need, prevent inpatient readmissions, and ease pressure on inpatient beds..
- To exercise responsibilities under the current Health & Safety legislation and Equal Opportunities Policy as laid down or amended by Look Ahead Housing Association
- To act at all times in accordance with the aims, philosophy and practice of the service
- Taking on shift leading responsibilities by coordinating and leading shifts in the absence of a manager
- Adhere to all the policies and procedures of Look Ahead Care & Support plus those specific to the project including any statutory requirements
- Being responsible for the handover of key information between shifts
- Engaging in learning and development activity to increase knowledge and skills
