Job purpose
To provide over-indebted Londoners with free, face-to-face advice that is accurate, effective, and tailored to individuals’ circumstances. To maintain detailed case records, and keep up to date with legislation, policies, and procedures; as well as undertaking appropriate training.
Scope of role
The Debt Advisor is responsible for providing comprehensive, face-to-face debt advice to over-indebted Londoners, tailored to their specific circumstances. This role involves conducting detailed interviews to understand clients’ financial problems, researching options, and helping clients make informed decisions. The advisor ensures income maximisation and provides ongoing casework support, acting on behalf of clients where necessary. Maintaining up-to-date case records and staying informed about relevant legislation, policies, and procedures are crucial aspects of the role. The Debt Advisor is also expected to complete continuous professional development and contribute to the team’s overall objectives by meeting targets, prioritising workloads, and demonstrating financial efficiency.

Working within the Money Advice Team (Community Debt)
Casework – The post-holder will carry a specialist caseload, providing advice and casework covering the full range of debt issues and solutions. This includes but is not limited to, dealing with emergencies, making use of the Breathing Space scheme, making offers of repayment, drafting financial statements, advising on insolvency options and providing budgeting advice. They will ensure that income maximisation is carried out and refer to other in-house advisers or specialist agencies as appropriate.
They will be required to act for the client where necessary and communicate with third parties to progress a case.
Advice will be delivered through a variety of channels including face to face (drop-in and appointments), telephone or digital channels and must conform to the Citizens Advice Quality of Advice standards and funder requirements.
The post-holder will work to individual targets that must be met in order to contribute to team targets.

As Finance Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day finance operations at B Lab UK, ensuring high-quality financial reporting, strong controls and effective oversight of transactional finance. What you’ll be doing
• Managing and liaising with our outsourced accounting service to ensure accurate and timely financial records.

• Developing and maintaining financial procedures and controls to protect B Lab UK’s assets.

• A qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent experience) who is committed to ongoing professional development and raising the bar in their practice.

• Demonstrable experience establishing, improving and maintaining robust financial controls and processes.

The Role
This role is about ownership, resilience and impact. You will manage a portfolio of customer accounts, working proactively to reduce arrears, prevent bad debt and support residents to sustain their tenancies.
You will be at the heart of a fast paced, customer focused service, speaking with residents daily, negotiating repayment plans and making confident decisions to move cases forward. Where necessary, you will play an active role in preparing and referring cases for court and attending hearings.

Role Purpose
The Finance Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day financial management of the charity, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, robust financial controls, and timely financial reporting. About the Role
This role has been created as part of a funded project to train two Immigration Caseworkers to IAA Level 2 and expand local immigration advice provision. The Role
