Chair of Trustees - The Family Place Foundation

We are recruiting a new Chair of Trustees to lead our Board and support the next stage of our charity’s development.

Location: Remote, with occasional in‑person trustee meetings (typically once or twice a year) held in the Clyro/Herefordshire area.

We are now seeking a Chair of Trustees to help guide the charity through its next stage of development, including shaping our emerging Family Foundations project, a significant new early‑years initiative for the charity, alongside our ongoing portfolio of funded projects delivered through our specialist partner. We are looking for a Volunteer Community Fundraiser to help Kingston Women’s Centre grow its community fundraising activity.

Kingston Women’s Centre provides affordable counselling and mental health support for women in our local community. At a time of rising demand for mental health services and increasing cost of living pressures, we believe access to support should never be a luxury, it should be available when it is needed most.

As a small charity with limited fundraising capacity, we are looking for someone who can bring creativity, initiative, and energy to help us identify and develop new community fundraising opportunities.

We are looking for Welcome volunteers to staff the welcome desk and be first point of contact for our visitors. Our volunteers play an important and valuable role in our cathedral community. Volunteering  can be a wonderful way to find a sense of purpose and belonging. You can use your skills, build your confidence and develop as part of a supportive and caring team. You’ll have the opportunity to work in an exciting and vibrant place of Christian worship, surrounded by beautiful architecture and our world-famous stained-glass windows.

Duties

• Assist in the planning and execution of community outreach events and fundraising activities.

• Support project management tasks by coordinating schedules, resources, and volunteer efforts.

• Educate community members about public health initiatives and available resources.

• Supervise volunteers during events to ensure smooth operations and provide guidance as needed.

• Manage social media accounts by creating engaging content to market our programmes and events.

• Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, record keeping, and maintaining volunteer schedules.

• Collaborate with team members to develop strategies for effective community engagement.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in public health or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a team of volunteers.

• Excellent project management skills with an organised approach to task completion.
