The Operations team is key to the success of Opportunity Green, enabling the team to carry out their work. It is headed by the COO and includes a Finance Manager, Operations Coordinator and People and Culture Manager, who will line manage this new role - a People and Culture Officer to support the continued growth of Opportunity Green.
What’s the role?
The People and Culture Officer will support our People and Culture Manager with delivering the full HR portfolio for the organisation. You will coordinate recruitment of new colleagues, own the process and ensure OG hiring practices are followed, while working closely with other managers. You will coordinate our internal HR and recruitment systems and processes.
This role will also support the wider team (currently 25 people in the UK, two in Belgium and one in Ireland) with day-to-day queries and help them understand our policies and processes. There will be opportunities to contribute to organisation-wide projects such as pay and benefits reviews or learning & development initiatives under the direction of the People & Culture Manager.

The successful candidate will be offered an annual salary of £40,000 plus 10% employer-contributed pension. Please note that Opportunity Green has fixed salary scales, with the possibility of step increases with strong performance. When hiring we always hire at the bottom of a band and do not enter negotiations with new employees as negotiations have been historically shown to disadvantage women and minorities.

Evening / Weekend Support Worker (Substance Misuse)
We are looking for someone mature, motivated and caring to provide person-centred support to our residents in their recovery journey. If you have a heart to see people overcome substance misuse - to reset, recover, and restore their lives - please join our friendly team.
The post-holder will form part of our team of staff who support our residents in their recovery primarily outside of office hours. You will therefore have great inter-personal skills and the ability to implement firm but caring boundaries. In addition, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, including updating records and administering medication as well as managing the house during weekends and overnight.
This is a part-time role on a zero hours contract, including some evenings and weekends, so could work alongside other employment commitments. Hours negotiable.

Key Responsibilities
The Development Director will:
- lead our efforts to raise money into our own parent charity, from primarily new sources;
- support the CEO and investment team to raise investment capital (which may take the form of repayable grants) into our investment funds;

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential Experience
- Level 5 CIPD qualified or equivalent proven generalist HR experience
- Advising and leading confidently on a range of HR policies, UK employment law and best practice
- Design and delivery of inclusive HR processes and improvements
- Experienced in developing and supporting managers and staff through change
- Experienced in advising managers and staff around learning and development
- Scoping, managing and overseeing delivery of a varied range of HR projects to enhance efficiency and the employee experience.
Essential Skills/Knowledge
- Solid knowledge of UK employment and relevant GDPR legislation and its application
- Skilled in using HRIS systems and using them for reporting and streamlining processes
- Strong Excel skills, and skilled in Microsoft Office suite, including SharePoint
- Analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends and make informed recommendations
- Understanding of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion considerations and best practice
- Knowledge and experience of using Reward data and benchmarking tools
- Knowledge of Safeguarding principles and practice
- Excellent communication skills, ensuring our policies and practices are accessible
