The role and its impact

This is a part-time CEO role providing hands-on leadership so CCE can deliver projects well, support volunteers, and build strong partnerships. Working with the Board, you will help move projects from early-stage development through to installation and reporting.

Key details

• Salary: £45,000 FTE pro rata (2 days/week = £18,000 per year)

• Hours: 2 days per week (flexible working pattern by agreement - evenings and weekends may be required)

• Contract: Fixed term for 12 months (with ambition to extend subject to funding)

• Location: Hybrid/home-based with regular presence in Croydon and occasional London travel

• Start date: 1 April 2026 (flexible)

• Reporting to: Chair of the Board (accountable to the Board of Directors)

• Contract basis: Self-employed contractor. You will manage your own tax and National Insurance and invoice CCE monthly.

What you'll be working on

• Deliver CCE's strategy and Board priorities, turning plans into clear actions, timelines and decisions.

• Coordinate the solar project pipeline with the Projects Director and delivery partners (from feasibility to commissioning and post-install monitoring).

• Oversee budgets, cashflow tracking and financial reporting with the Finance Director; keep risks visible and managed.

• Develop and deliver fundraising plans (grants, sponsorship, partnerships and, where relevant, community share offers).

• Enable good governance: board papers and updates, decisions logs, AGMs and member communications where relevant.

• Support and coordinate volunteers, fostering an inclusive, motivated culture and making it easy for people to contribute.

• Build relationships with key local stakeholders and represent CCE externally when needed.

Your role 

This role sits in the Philanthropy & Partnerships Directorate, a high performing team that is responsible for all areas of high value fundraising including major donors, trusts and foundations, corporate partners and special events/high value committees. We play a vital role in delivering a stewardship and communications programme to support the wider Directorate with the knowledge, tools and expertise to recognise, thank and update our highest value supporters.

We will need you to: 

• Maintain and manage data lists and mailing processes for key communications, including biannual newsletters, season’s greetings cards and the Charity’s Impact Report.
• Support fundraisers to coordinate and deliver correspondence to donors and partners, including sharing news from the hospital or preparing routine updates, ensuring all communications are accurate, timely, and properly recorded.
• Upkeep all donor recognition information, including tracking members of the Charity’s stewardship circles and auditing donor recognition across the hospital.
• Coordinate donor recognition pages for the Charity’s annual Impact Report, working closely with the PR and Communications team.
• Coordinate with hospital staff to ensure donor recognition is accurately recorded, appropriately displayed, and installed on schedule.
• Support the delivery of donor stewardship projects by managing administrative tasks such as researching and sourcing suppliers or products, managing orders, and coordinating logistics across teams to ensure projects run smoothly and efficiently.
• Oversee stock levels of materials and assets – order, receive, store and distribute materials to the team as required.

This is a key role in the Bereavement Support Services team. The team provides a wide range of services, including the Helpline, Online Community, memory making, and print materials. The aim of this post is to provide consistent, high-quality emotional support to bereaved families who seek support from Sands. The primary focus of this role is to work on the Sands Helpline as support officers, listening to callers and responding to emails. The helpline offers telephone and email support and is currently open from 10am-3pm from Monday to Friday; 6pm – 9pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; and has occasional extended opening for specific reasons. Bereavement Support Services Officers (BSSO) will be expected to cover all regular opening hours on a rota basis. Flexibility to accommodate other external commitments will be considered. Each shift will start 30 minutes before the helpline opens and end 30 minutes after the helpline closes. If colleagues start work when the Helpline is already open, they will be expected to use the first hours of their shift to settle in and organize their work before starting calls and email responses. The role will be split between work on the helpline and contributing to other strands of bereavement support work.

What the job involves

Our Events and Community Fundraising team raises vital funds for Prostate Cancer UK through a wide range of activities, events and challenge events. As Senior Community Fundraising Executive, you’ll be a key member of our sector-leading team, raising over £5 million each year from individuals organising their own fundraising events and local-level corporate partnerships.

You’ll work closely with the Community Fundraising Manager to identify, test and develop new opportunities across our community fundraising programme, supporting our ambitious five-year strategy and growth plans. You’ll project manage mass-market fundraising campaigns to recruit, convert and inspire community fundraisers, working in partnership with colleagues and external agencies to brief, plan, deliver and evaluate paid marketing activity.

A key part of your role will be to design and own supporter journeys that use innovation, technology and personalisation to deliver an exceptional supporter experience. You’ll develop and maintain fundraising resources and incentives, making sure they’re effective, easy to use and continually improving. As social media communities executive, you'll produce, edit, and share social media content, and support with managing our online community.

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of our social media inbox and social listening - tapping into key insights and conversations from our members to help inform our social media content and how we support our online audience.

To achieve this, you'll work closely with our social media manager, social executive, and assistant, as well as colleagues across the department and wider organisation including our media, brand, and policy teams.

Working closely with your peers, you'll create and adapt content reactively, when needed. This might be in response to trending news items, key organisation updates, or hot topics in the legal profession.

Using your creative expertise, you'll know the best way to do this for different social platforms to get our members and the wider public interested and excited about our work.

What we're looking for

We're looking for an enthusiastic social media professional with a track record of creating impactful social media content for a large audience. Being in the know about all things social, you'll have a keen awareness and understanding of social media best practice, industry trends and how to adapt to different platforms

You will have strong experience building and supporting an online community; ideally, you've done this on social media platforms using effective community management.

Creatively, you'll have the knowhow to create or edit visual content for social media including graphics and video.

You'll also be experienced in building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders - helping them reach their goals and build their understanding of social media.

We are seeking a creative and driven Digital Officer to grow brand awareness and supporter engagement for an international environmental charity working to protect rainforests and support local communities.

Position: Digital Officer
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Location: Remote (UK) with quarterly travel to Cornwall for team meetings

About the Role

This role sits within the Marketing and Communications team and plays a key part in delivering the organisation’s digital marketing strategy. You will work across social media, website, email and digital campaigns, helping to create engaging content that inspires people to take action.

Working closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will help increase reach, engagement and supporter growth across all digital platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting delivery of the digital marketing strategy and KPIs
• Monitoring digital trends and identifying new opportunities
• Creating engaging content for social media, website, email and campaigns
• Producing visual assets and short form video content
• Leading on organic social media content and community management
• Supporting planning and content for paid digital campaigns
• Managing and updating website content using a CMS
• Supporting website optimisation including SEO, accessibility and user journeys
• Writing, building and scheduling email campaigns
• Creating marketing automations where appropriate
• Monitoring performance across digital channels and producing reports
• Making data led recommendations for improvement and testing new approaches

About You

You will be creative, analytical and passionate about digital communications.

You will have:

• Experience managing digital channels across social, web and email
• Experience creating content using tools such as Canva or similar
• Strong copywriting skills for different digital formats
• Experience using CMS platforms, particularly WordPress
• Experience using email marketing systems
• Confidence using analytics tools and interpreting performance data
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
• Excellent time and task management skills
• A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• A genuine interest in, and commitment to, the humanitarian and environmental principles of the charity

It would be great (but not essential) if you also have:

• Spanish language skills
• Experience working in environmental, climate or international development sectors
