We are looking for a Community Lead to be responsible for developing relationships with individuals, community groups, schools, faith groups and volunteers to inspire and maximise fundraising opportunities within the community.
This is a hybrid role based on the Essex border with East London.

The Role
Deliver and grow community fundraising activity within the area.
Act as the first point of contact for community supporters, providing excellent stewardship, guidance, and encouragement.
Proactively identify and develop new fundraising opportunities across the regional area.
Promote and deliver hospice-led community fundraising events and initiatives (e.g. coffee mornings, fun runs, fayres, in-memory activities).
Work closely with other Community Officers, sharing insights and experiences to improve the overall community fundraising team.
Recruit, train, and support community fundraising volunteers.
The Candidate
Demonstrable Community Fundraising experience
Experience of line management, providing leadership and guidance to teams.
Demonstrable experience of building effective relationships with supporters, resulting in sustainable income
Experience of analysing fundraising activity providing actionable insight to future activity for themselves and those they manage.

Created as part of investment in the Trust’s fundraising capacity, this exciting new role will take the lead on our crucial legacy and major donor income streams as we strive to achieve transformative income to support nature’s recovery across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
What you’ll be doing:
Leading on all operational aspects of these income streams and inputting into strategy with the Senior Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager, you will have responsibility for growing the Trust’s legacy, mid-level and major donor fundraising.
With support from colleagues across the department and wider Trust, you’ll provide stewardship to a portfolio of mid and high-value relationships, cultivate and secure new donors, and act as a champion for this crucial area of work across the organisation.
About you:
You will be an experienced fundraiser with outstanding communication skills and strong technical legacy skills and knowledge, as well as in-depth knowledge and track record of success in growing a major donor programme. You’re a proactive, positive and confident fundraiser with the experience and expertise to take the lead across our legacy and major donor income streams.

About the Role
We’re reshaping our approach to major donor fundraising at the Connection, creating space for a new Philanthropy Lead to focus on forging new connections, building meaningful relationships and securing transformational income.
You’ll take the lead on our highest value and highest potential major donor relationships, while driving forwards two exciting strategic projects including our flagship Make It Home campaign board.
You’ll be part of a lean, ambitious and supportive philanthropy team alongside our Trusts Manager and Philanthropy Officer, with strategic direction and professional development from our Head of Fundraising Development, and close collaboration across the wider Fundraising & Communications team.

· High emotional intelligence and confidence working in sensitive contexts
Desirable: experience in mental health or crisis services; major donor strategy development; knowledge of the UK funding landscape.
