The Death Penalty Project is recruiting a project manager to join our team. We're looking for a self-started with experience of managing donor-funded projects and a passion for human rights. We are open to flexible working requests.

The Death Penalty Project (DPP) is a is a legal action NGO with special consultative status before the United Nations Economic and Social Council. We provide free representation to people facing the death penalty worldwide, with a focus on the Commonwealth. We use the law to protect those facing execution and promote fair criminal justice systems, where the rights of all people are respected.
We believe the death penalty is a cruel and inhuman punishment that discriminates against the poorest and most disadvantaged members of society. We want to see it consigned to history.
What we do:
We represent and assist those facing the death penalty and other cruel punishments, free of charge.
We deliver targeted and practical capacity building to judges, lawyers, mental health professionals, and others working within the criminal justice system.
We commission original research and publish training resources that challenge misconceptions and deepen understanding around the death penalty.
We engage with governments, policymakers, and other key stakeholders in a constructive dialogue on how abolition of the death penalty can be achieved.
The Role:
Reports to: Deputy Director
Duration of contract: Permanent, subject to a three-month probationary period
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week. DPP are open to flexible working requests.
Holiday entitlement: 25 days plus UK bank holidays
Pension: 5%
Location: Combination of work from home and office days in Central London
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the coordination of ongoing project activities, including the commissioning and publishing of research, training and capacity building plans, and advocacy and engagement efforts.
- Manage donor-funded grants, to ensure agreed objectives and deadlines are met.
- Produce high-quality narrative reports to funders in line with donor requirements, and coordinate with the Deputy Director for the development of accurate donor financial reports.
- Produce and maintain up-to-date project documents and tools, such as project delivery workplans and country information sheets.
- Draft other documents as required, such as briefing notes, memoranda and/or letters for advocacy and engagement efforts.
- Develop and maintain DPP’s monitoring and evaluation system, effectively tracking progress against organisational and project indicators, and developing and implementing project monitoring and evaluation tools.
- Maintain active relationships with project partners involved in research, capacity building and/or engagement activities, as well as manage any contracts for services that may be required for the delivery of projects, such as audits or evaluations.
- Identify, manage and / or escalate any risks or issues that may arise in relation to effective and timely project delivery (including reputational, operational, financial, or other risks).
- Keep up to date on relevant political developments in our priority geographies and brief other members of the team as needed.
- Proactively develop ideas for project activities that advance DPP’s mission and strategy in our priority geographies.
- Work closely with Communications colleagues to develop and feature impact data and stories that highlight our research, capacity building, and advocacy work on DPP’s website and social media.
- Contribute to the drafting of concept notes, project proposals or other funding applications, where needed.
- Provide line management and support to project interns and volunteers, when applicable.
Knowledge, skills and experience
Essential:
- At least five years of relevant experience in the non-profit and / or human rights sector
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a strong track record of producing high quality donor reports and/or briefing documents
- Experience managing logframes and/or other monitoring and evaluation frameworks
- Experience managing EU and/or FCDO-funded projects, or similar
- A self-starter that enjoys working in a small team, with rapidly changing priorities and deadlines, and with a range of responsibilities
- A strong interest in human rights issues related to The Death Penalty Project’s work
- Permission to live and work in the UK
Desirable:
- Knowledge and understanding of international human rights law and related issues, or strong desire to learn
- Knowledge of the UN system, for example the workings of the Human Rights Council
About us

About the role
As News and Media Manager, you will lead a hard-working and experienced team of media experts to bring to life Crisis’ work, demonstrate the solutions needed to tackle homelessness and inspire the public and politicians to join our mission to end it for good. You will oversee the development and delivery of high-profile media and communications campaigns, including our annual Christmas appeal, helping to build our brand. This is a fixed term role covering a secondment in the team, and with an upcoming general election, this is an exciting time take up the role for the next 10 months.
About you
You will have significant experience of working in a challenging, fast-paced news and media environment to secure high-profile coverage and championing the voices of marginalised people. Experience and knowledge of managing and influencing senior internal and external stakeholders is essential in this role, as is the ability to navigate competing priorities to develop and implement creative media strategies that reach a diverse range of audiences.
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge and experience of working with the media to help secure policy change at a national government level, outstanding people and project management skills and proven experience when it comes to handling reputational risk. You will also have exceptional news sense, with the ability to take a creative approach when seeking out new media opportunities.

Main duties and responsibilities
Partnership Management
- Responsible for coordinating, managing and supporting RCUK’s collaborative activity with community and corporate partner organisations in the UK.
- Act as the central link between partner organisations, and our patient and public voice group.
- Manage relationships with both corporate and community partnerships developing strong new relationships and strengthening existing relationships, liaising with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

Strategy and Planning
- Lead on the implementation of a new partnership strategy for RCUK working closely with the Director of Communications and Engagement and key internal stakeholders, ensuring it remains relevant and develops across the life of our partnership activity.
- Lead on developing bespoke individual plans for each partner relationship.
- Lead on proactively researching and developing a pipeline of new partners whose values and mission align with the RCUK vision, presenting progress in monthly stakeholder meetings.

- Chair a monthly partnership forward planning meeting with internal stakeholders and key members of the Senior Leadership Team.

About the team
The Digital team was created in 2022, with aims including ‘to update our use of systems so that they better meet our needs, provide answers more quickly and easily, and increase the robustness and efficiency of the ways we use data’ as well as to ‘help us change the way we work, not just the systems we use.’
Until now a one-person team, we are adding the CRM and Analytics Manager role to provide a greater focus for development of our key data systems, and to meet increased demand from across Impetus as we drive use of CRM. The team works cross-organisationally, providing development for, collaborating via established working groups with, all teams within Impetus.
About this role
We are looking for a talented professional with a passion for maximising the value of data, who is looking to join an organisation where they can put their skills to use across all aspects of our operations. You will join at a key time to develop and embed our work in this area, providing key support to all of our teams as well as expanding and improving the range of data available to us.
You will lead on the development, administration, and staff engagement with, and training on, our Salesforce CRM system. This will include data from, and collaboration with, all departments of Impetus, including our donors and prospects, our collaboration with partner charities, and our communications with email audiences. You will also manage the relationship with our existing Salesforce partner agency, drawing on them for additional support resource and coordinating broader development projects.
You will also aggregate, visualise, and draw relevant insight from data across our systems, including Salesforce, Google Analytics, and our social media platforms. In time, we will look to combine our own data with other external and open data. Since Impetus is in the early stages of making the best use of this cross-systems, cross-organisational data, you will have broad freedom and responsibility to set the overall direction of development, in collaboration with relevant teams, as well as the specific dashboards and other outputs that you create.
The successful candidate will have experience developing and drawing value from Salesforce, including both technical development and collaborating closely with teams to drive engagement and best practice. You will also have experience of working with a broad range of data to produce high quality visual and analytic outputs and a commitment to enabling data-driven decision-making.
This position requires someone that can collaborate with a wide variety of teams as well as frequently working independently and with a high degree of autonomy. You will be able to own CRM for an impactful, curious, and growing organisation, as well as providing it with the usable insight it craves to further grow and deliver impact.
Key responsibilities
CRM:
- Own the development and administration of our Salesforce system
- Work with all teams at Impetus to maximise their engagement with Salesforce and provide relevant training
- Collaborate with our Salesforce support partner to leverage additional administration, and development project, resource
- Gather information and data to identify business requirements and processes for adding to, or further developing on, Salesforce.
- Evaluate technical solutions in terms of meeting business requirements.
- Work closely with stakeholders, including the project team, to ensure requirements are fully and accurately understood.
- Collaborate with the Comms team to ensure we are making the most effective and efficient use of Pardot for our email lists.
- Develop reporting within Salesforce.
- Answer staff queries and ad hoc requests.
Analytics:
- Lead the development, and administration of our data integration and transformation and Data Warehouse systems
- Lead the development of our organisational reporting (initial development in Domo, but likewise open to moving to e.g. PowerBI)
- Working with the Comms team, developing and reporting from Google Analytics
- Identifying and using open data, for example from government departments around employment and education
Collaboration:
- Aiding the development of a culture of data literacy and data-driven decision-making across Impetus
- Working with charity partners to develop foundational data and reporting capabilities

Person specification
Essential
- Advanced knowledge of, and significant experience with, Salesforce development in a professional context
- Significant experience of collaborating closely with varied stakeholders to determine requirements, evaluate solutions, and plan development
- Demonstrated ability to manage and interpret varied datasets to inform strategic decision-making
- Knowledge of reporting tools, for example PowerBI or Domo, together with a track record of creating dashboards and driving their adoption

GroceryAid has been the charity for the grocery industry since 1857. Main purpose of the role
As a senior member of the D&I in Grocery team, you will play an integral part in managing partners and supporting them through their D&I journey. Lead on the Mentoring workstream and manage D&I in Grocery’s first ever Maturity Model. The role suits someone with outstanding stakeholder management skills and excellent project management capabilities. The role requires the ability to manage several priorities simultaneously and be flexible in approach to changing responsibilities across workstreams due to the nature of the D&I landscape and fast spaced industry.
Main responsibilities of the role

Mentoring Programme
- Lead on the delivery of the Mentoring workstream and gain feedback for future improvements
- Manage the Mentoring Steering Group, working with them to deliver on the programme’s vision, deliver virtual onboarding events, in person mentee networking events and cohort graduations
- Successfully match over 220+ mentees and 220+ mentors and support candidates on their journey
- Capture the diversity of each year’s cohort and analyse the data for review and to set future key performance indicators (KPIs)
Maturity Model
- Lead on future developments of the model with the Maturity Model subgroup
- With the support of the project co-ordinator manage the model and run analytics as and when needed
- Lead on the yearly completion window cycle to ensure a high completion rate across the partnership, guidance to partners, report delivery and industry score generation
Project Management
- Responsible for end-to-end project and event delivery, on time, in scope, to budget and highlighting risks
- Ownership of project governance with steering / subgroups, through creating agendas, accurate minutes, proposals, and yearly roadmap. Succession planning for Chair and Deputy Chair rotations every two years
- Track and achieve KPI’s across the programme scorecard
- Responsible for ensuring all stakeholders internally and externally are brought on the journey
- Manage platforms and contracted suppliers to deliver to a high standard
- Drive innovation and identify new revenue streams to support the GroceryAid Welfare offer
- Work with marketing team on communication plans to build awareness and Relationship Management team to achieve KPI’s
- Update Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database with key contacts and information, providing regular reports and analysis

We're hiring a Service Manager to join our Mental Health Stepdown service in Enfield! You will have overall responsibility of your service and team, aiming to deliver a high quality, trauma informed service to your residents. Your role is to ensure full contract and regulatory compliance whilst being a role model/leader for your team to achieve KPI's and other requirements as per the service needs.
The service focuses on care and support rehabilitation for adults with complex mental health needs, providing a total of 24 units of supported accommodation for residents who may also have behaviours that prove challenging to services, including mental health, and medication non-compliance. We support people moving from complex care inpatient rehabilitation service/acute mental health ward and (if appropriate a residential environment), initially into an intensive rehabilitation arrangement that works closely with the mental health rust community rehabilitation team.
Some of our units provide move on supported accommodation from the intensive support service and provides an alternative to existing residential care provisions. The transition allows our residents and participants to further enhance their life skills.
Shift/Working pattern: 37.5 hours a week in service Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, you may also be required to work outside these hours as per the service requirements and needs. You will also take part in our on call service.

‘Celebrating Supportability at 70’ is a Heritage Fund funded, fixed term project that investigates, describes and explains the heritage of Supportability to the people we support and the wider community.
Do you have what we are looking for?
The role will include working with volunteers, people we support and their families and the wider community in order to examine, preserve and interpret significant documents that relate to the charity’s 70-year history. It will also include researching further into other local archives and recording memories and experiences of both past and present stake holders. This will then be pulled together into an exhibition detailing the full history of Supportability, which will take place at a local library. Learning and historical materials from the project will also inform a digital timeline (web design/development will be externally commissioned) hosted on our website.
To ensure the project is accessible to the people we support the role will also involve organising (alongside our service managers) inclusive heritage themed events.

As the Poppy Appeal Manager in Cornwall, your main role is to achieve income, expenditure, and contribution targets, ensuring the success of the appeal. Collaborating with the Regional Poppy Appeal Manager, you will create and manage an income and expenditure budget, providing monthly commentary. Your responsibilities include to coordinating local supporters, partners, and volunteers, building relationships to maximise fundraising potential.

Relationship management plays a crucial role, where you'll oversee a portfolio of regional corporate partnerships and collaborate with internal departments to achieve collective goals. Effective communication skills are key, enabling you to engage with supporters and stakeholders, ensuring a positive experience for everyone involved.
A distinctive aspect of this role lies in the unique Poppy Appeal activity. Beyond managing relationships and budgets, you'll recruit and induct new Poppy Appeal Organisers, ensuring they have the tools and resources for success. Planning and coordinating the Poppy Appeal launch, including PR and media activities, contribute to the appeal's overall impact.
Your role also involves representing Royal British Legion locally, engaging in outreach activities, and providing updates to key stakeholders. Flexibility is essential, as some evenings, weekends, and overnight stays may be required. The successful candidate will embody the values of the Royal British Legion, demonstrating empathy with its mission and objectives.
The ideal candidate will possess commercial knowledge, financial management skills, and experience in supporter relationship management. Strong planning, organizational, and IT skills are necessary, as is the ability to assess the commercial implications of decisions. The role demands a team player who can engage with diverse client groups, showcasing effective communication skills both in writing and verbally.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Retail Operations Manager to join our Retail Team. This role will require the successful candidate to be responsible for running the logistics required for a disperse network of charity shops, including the supply and distribution of stock; management of suppliers, landlords and associated stakeholders and ensuring that all compliance requirements are fulfilled.
The role will also support the delivery of the retail strategy to drive income growth and increase footfall and to support new business initiatives.
Role Requirements
Operational Management
- Manage the generation and distribution of stock, including organising the logistics for van deliveries and collections to meet both shops and customer requirements.
- Support the development and optimisation of the Redhill distribution hub.
- Manage key internal and external stakeholders including suppliers, landlords and internal support teams, ensuring that an efficient and compliant service is maintained.
- Research opportunities to reduce waste and disposal costs and introduce new/improved sources of recycling.
- Develop proposals to improve the operational management of the retail team in support of the retail strategy.
- Work with the Head of Retail and Retail Sales Manager to host Retail Sales Meetings, engaging the team with the broader aims of the charity.
Income Generation
- Manage the full gift aid claim process, working with colleagues and shops managers to optimise gift aid conversion rates.
- Manage the shops e-commerce and online operations, research and implement associated platforms.
- Support sales promotions and seasonal changes across the chain of shops.
- Support colleagues to develop opportunities for niche sales offers.
- Regularly review shops departmental sales performance to support sourcing and supply of specific stock.
- Working with fundraising colleagues to ensure that the retail supporter journey is optimised and relationships are managed holistically.
Standards and Compliance
- Manage full compliance of the Children’s Trust shops in line with all Health & Safety legislation, Fire safety, Trading Standards, Retail Gift Aid, GDPR, ThankQ CRM, Risk Assessments, Safeguarding and all other legal or statutory requirements.
- Deliver and manage internal and external audit processes working with Retail Sales Manager and Head of Retail to ensure that all audit actions and recommendations are delivered by the team.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of The Children’s Trust.
With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter-personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.
