The Communications and Research Officer is a new post designed to help bridge the gap between the research and campaigning work of Drone Wars UK and our supporters and the general public. The role is split 50/50 between communications and research. The communications element combines social media activity, website content creation and email communications, helping to ensure our messages are communicated clearly, consistently and creatively across a range of channels. The research element consists of undertaking a number of short-term specific research projects alongside participation in on-going longer-term research work.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys creating engaging content as well as undertaking in-depth investigations that contribute to positive social change. This is an opportunity to join a purpose-driven team providing practical advice, advocacy and support to help people navigate complex welfare and benefits systems and maximise their income.
The role is predominantly remote, with the successful candidate required to attend HIV clinics across central London one day per week, usually for a half day, as part of an outreach-based service. As Welfare Rights Advisor, you will provide high-quality one-to-one welfare benefits advice and support to clients, assessing their needs, developing action plans and helping them access the financial support to which they are entitled. You will support clients with welfare forms, advocacy and tribunal attendance where required, while also making appropriate referrals to other specialist services. The role will involve working closely with health and social care organisations, delivering outreach in HIV clinics, organising workshops and training sessions for frontline professionals and NHS staff, and providing updates to colleagues on welfare and benefits legislation. You will also support and develop volunteers, contribute to drop-in sessions and ensure that client records, monitoring information and reports are maintained accurately and effectively.
You will be a qualified welfare rights adviser with at least two years’ experience providing welfare and benefits advice to vulnerable groups, alongside a strong understanding of the UK welfare and benefits system. You will bring excellent communication, numerical and IT skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities while working independently. Just as importantly, you will be empathetic, patient, tactful and emotionally resilient, with a genuine commitment to equality and the rights of people living with HIV. Role Purpose:
The Helpline Advisor will be the first point of contact for individuals reporting incidents of anti-Muslim hate. The role requires delivering empathetic, confidential, and high-quality support to callers, as well as accurately recording reports and ensuring all relevant procedures are followed.

About the Role
This is a key operational role at the heart of The Loss Foundation's support services. You'll coordinate our programme of bereavement support events and act as the main point of contact for our extraordinary community of volunteers who give their time to ensure nobody faces cancer bereavement alone. We're entering an exciting period of growth. Over the next few years we're expanding our national support services, growing our volunteer community and investing in new ways to reach more bereaved people than ever before. This role will play an important part in making that happen.
Although the role doesn't include formal line management, you'll have real ownership of your area and the opportunity to shape how our services develop. This role would suit someone who enjoys creating structure, building relationships and making a meaningful difference as part of a small, ambitious team.

Key Responsibilities
Event Coordination
You'll oversee the smooth delivery of The Loss Foundation's programme of support services, ensuring events are well organised, appropriately resourced and delivered to a high standard.

Role Purpose:
This role will support income generation by providing assistance to the Fundraising team. Key areas of focus include fundraising data management, central relationship management (CRM) development and digital transformation, and coordination of fundraising resources.
Specific Responsibilities:
Develop and optimise the fundraising CRM to maintain accurate, accessible and reliable supporter data, enhancing workflows, processes and supporter journeys to improve operational efficiency and support fundraising objectives.
Manage fundraising data processes, including imports, exports and supporter segmentation, while maintaining high standards of data quality, compliance and GDPR adherence to support effective fundraising campaigns and stewardship activities.
Administration of the legacy pipeline, working with our external legacy administrators and supporting the Partnership Manager – Philanthropy and Legacies in tracking legacy prospects through the pipeline, maintaining up-to-date records and progress reports.

As Development Officer (Income Maximisation in Schools) you will play a lead role in looking at the actions needed at different levels to sustainably embed advice in schools across Scotland. You’ll be involving and engaging schools, advice services and other partners to develop practical recommendations which can be used to improve provision nationally. You will also be helping to develop resources and professional learning to increase awareness and confidence in schools around financial entitlements and pathways to income maximisation support.

A short distance away, Holtspur tells a different story — isolation, cost-of-living pressure, and too few places for people to simply connect. We're investing in our Holtspur building to change that, and now we need someone to bring it to life.
The role
This is a rare chance to shape a role from the ground up. As our Community Development Worker, you won't be managing an established programme — you'll be building one. You'll get to know Holtspur street by street, person by person, and turn what you learn into activities that genuinely matter: community meals, bereavement support, family and children's groups, informal spaces where people feel they belong. You'll recruit and grow volunteers around you, and you'll help make our refurbished Holtspur building the welcoming hub it's meant to be.
Faith sits at the centre of this role. You'll work closely with our Minister and Eldership, and you'll have the confidence to create natural, unforced opportunities for people to explore Christian faith alongside the practical support you offer. This post carries an occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 for the postholder to be a practising Christian.
