POST OUTLINE
This is an impactful role working in a supportive and collaborative environment. The Volunteer Manager is responsible for implementing a sustainable volunteer strategy, onboarding journey and programme across the charity. This varied role oversees the promotion of volunteering, internal and external relationship building, all stages of volunteer recruitment, HR checks and onboarding and the coordination of an effective volunteer mandatory training programme. This role is responsible for organising recognition programmes, guiding departments on how to manage and retain volunteers, maximising the use of volunteer resources and ensuring volunteers have a rewarding experience whilst also positively contributing to the organisation objectives to provide vital services to the families of disabled and neurodivergent children. This role is also responsible for the line management of the Volunteer Administrator. Person Specification
You will be excellent people manager, love working with a wide variety of people and be able to quickly build deep and positive relationships in a volunteer-centric organisation. You will want to spend time with the volunteers and get to know their experience and perspective. You are highly organised, data and IT savvy, efficient with your time, and you are used to prioritising tasks and making a difference wherever you go. You have a passion for being in a charity that is expanding rapidly and thriving in a busy environment. You will have a desire to help reduce food waste and/or fight food poverty.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Responsible for the end-to-end volunteer experience at the Merseyside Depot
•Recruit, induct, and support volunteers
•Handle individual volunteers’ queries and issues
•Carry out administrative tasks including using the Volunteer Management System in Microsoft Dynamics. Report on and utilise the data to make positive changes
•Manage volunteer feedback and implement effective problem-solving techniques and strategies
•Develop and deliver volunteer recruitment campaigns
•Support volunteer events for recruitment and recognition
•Lead the implementation of volunteer-related policies and continuous improvement initiatives locally
•Support other teams across the organisation to develop skillsets to better support volunteers across the organisation

The Volunteer Coordinator (Nag’s Head Farm) will lead the recruitment, administration and support of volunteers for Camp Jojo’s Cumbria camps. As the main point of contact throughout the volunteer journey, they will manage applications, maintain databases, coordinate communications and ensure volunteers are successfully placed at camp.
Working closely with the Operations Manager and supported by the experienced team at Ivy Farm, Essex, the role also includes providing administrative support and attending volunteer-related meetings. This is a varied and rewarding role requiring strong organisational, communication and time-management skills.
Approximately 80% of the role can be carried out remotely; however, the successful candidate will be required to attend each camp at Nag’s Head Farm, Appleby-in-Westmorland, Cumbria.
