Who we are
Every year, thousands of people in the UK face court alone. Often through no choice of their own, people must represent themselves at a moment that could have life-changing outcomes. This includes loss of access to children or homelessness. At the same time, people facing court alone may find themselves up against a party with legal representation. They are instantly at a disadvantage and overwhelmed by the enormity of the challenges they are up against. We supported unrepresented litigants in the civil and family courts in England and Wales over 45,000 times last year.
We provide a safe space with volunteers who listen to each client’s individual story. Last year, over 1000 volunteers helped people to get their thoughts in order, problem-solve and decide next steps, source relevant and reliable legal information, explain complex procedures, complete court forms, and clearly present statements.
At a time when legal support is increasingly limited, we have a vision that no one should have to face court alone.
The role
Support Through Court is establishing a legal advice clinic for money claim matters under £10,000, for a one-year pilot. Advice will be given to clients across the national service network who have been internally triaged to the clinic.
The role involves day-to day management of the clinic and supervising law students as they facilitate client appointments, conduct research and draft letters of advice. Clients will predominantly be supported remotely with occasional in-person appointments and advice “drop-ins” in the local area. You will train and supervise students to help them gain practical legal skills in a clinic setting, having final sign-off of completed letters of advice/oral advice to ensure clients receive an excellent service.
You will embed the legal advice offering of the clinic into the organisation, increasing and developing referrals from our national service network and supporting staff understanding of referral ability.
Who we are looking for
Ambitious, professional, committed and friendly. That describes us. If it also describes you and you have a passion for access to justice, then we’re keen to hear from you.
You will be a qualified solicitor with at least 3 years PQE (ideally 5+) with an active practicing certificate. You will have experience managing students and/or volunteers and a commitment to supporting Litigants in Person.
We are open to applicants wishing to take the role either on a full-time basis, or on a part-time basis as a job share. Please make it clear in your application whether you are applying for a full-time or part-time role.
Interviews will be taking place on a rolling basis as applications are received.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

• Deliver a regular programme of Hounslow-based outreach and events.
• Onboard, support and manage volunteers, working with our team of volunteers to deliver research and associated activities.
• Undertake policy reviews and provide advice on research and evaluation methodology to the Research Director, Healthwatch Hounslow Manager and other members of the Public Voice team.
• Work with Public Voice teams to capture issues relating to the delivery of services or gaps in policies. Use this information to identify common themes which relate to service design and health and social care policy.
• Engage effectively with seldom-heard communities.
We are seeking a candidate with proven research experience, including the ability to interpret and analyse data and present solutions. You will have a keen interest in health and social care and the ability to write clear, concise policy reviews. You will also have a flair for programme and project management, and be skilled in organising tasks, logistics and administrative systems. The successful applicant will value equality, diversity and inclusion, and will be enthusiastic about promoting these principles in their work. They will have warmth, empathy and respect for others, alongside the ability to effectively engage seldom-heard communities.

About this job
This is a brilliant opportunity to join our hardworking, creative and supportive MS Cymru team
You’ll be communicating with both Welsh and English speaking audiences, and you must be a fluent Welsh speaker/writer.
We’re looking for a tenacious, proactive Press and Communications Officer to join our team and help us meet our ambitious goals.
Crucially, you’ll promote and deliver media coverage/strategies to promote our work with a particular emphasis on promoting our fundraising, campaigning and service activity.
You’ll also be our point of contact for media enquiries we receive. And you’ll support the development and delivery of our digital communications, ensuring we have a strong and representative social media presence.
The chosen candidate will have relevant experience (such as a press office, PR agency or journalism) and be comfortable managing competing priorities as part of a busy team. You’ll have excellent writing and communications skills in Welsh and English, and a positive attitude.
Welsh language written and speaking skills are essential. An application submitted in Welsh will be treated no less favourably than an application submitted in English.
Y swydd
Mae hwn yn gyfle ardderchog i ymuno â’n tîm gweithgar, creadigol a chefnogol yn MS Cymru.
Byddwch yn cyfathrebu â chynulleidfaoedd Cymraeg a Saesneg, a rhaid i chi fod yn siarad ac ysgrifennu Cymraeg yn rhugl.
Rydyn ni’n chwilio am Swyddog y Wasg a Chyfathrebu dygn, rhagweithiol i ymuno â’n tîm a’n helpu ni i gyflawni ein nodau uchelgeisiol.
Yn hollbwysig, byddwch yn hybu ac yn darparu strategaethau/sylw yn y cyfryngau i hyrwyddo ein gwaith, gyda phwyslais penodol ar hyrwyddo ein gweithgareddau codi arian, ymgyrchu a gwasanaeth.
Hefyd, chi fydd ein pwynt cyswllt ar gyfer ymholiadau gan y cyfryngau. Byddwch hefyd yn cefnogi’r gwaith o ddatblygu a darparu ein cyfathrebiadau digidol, gan sicrhau bod gennym bresenoldeb cryf a chynrychioladol ar gyfryngau cymdeithasol.
Bydd gan yr ymgeisydd llwyddiannus brofiad perthnasol (er enghraifft mewn swyddfa’r wasg, asiantaeth cysylltiadau cyhoeddus neu newyddiaduriaeth), a bydd yn hyderus yn rheoli blaenoriaethau sy’n cystadlu â’i gilydd fel rhan o dîm prysur. Bydd gennych sgiliau ysgrifennu a chyfathrebu ardderchog yn Gymraeg a Saesneg, yn ogystal ag agwedd gadarnhaol.
Mae sgiliau siarad ac ysgrifennu yn y Gymraeg yn hanfodol. Ni fydd cais a gyflwynir yn Gymraeg yn cael ei drin yn ddim llai ffafriol na chais a gyflwynir yn Saesneg.
