Main Duties/Responsibilities:

• Plan the daily menu, prepare, cook and serve meals, serve hot and cold beverages and other food items 
• Serve customers efficiently with food and drink orders and take payments 
• Assist in preparation of cafe and counters before, during and at the end of service 
• Offer customers amazing standards of customer service and car 
• Responsible for cleaning all kitchen equipment and work areas, including cooker, microwave, work surface, display and storage areas and fridge, observing strict rules of hygiene 
• Ensuring adequate stock levels of supplies and consumables for café area by contributing to the ordering of stock, including the purchase of fresh produce as required 
• Ensuring compliance with all legislation including H&S and food hygiene and undertake all checks and tests as required by Environmental Services.

• You must be a clear communicator who prides themselves on providing excellent customer service with the ability to build a great relationship with our loyal following of students and friends who visit the café.

About the role

The Generous Giving Manager is a very exciting and influential role at the Diocese, as you will build on the strong and energetic foundations within our two-person Generous Giving Team to strengthen the financial sustainability of local churches by encouraging generosity in time, talents and financial giving.

Working closely with deaneries, parishes and their leadership teams, you will identify local challenges and opportunities for generous giving, sharing innovative giving practices to help parishes and deaneries develop creative and effective ways to resource their mission.

Communicating clearly and inspiringly the principles of Christian giving to diverse audiences, you will keep up to date with National Church resources, promoting and supporting a wide range of giving methods such as the Parish Giving Scheme (PGS), online and contactless giving. You will also have excellent stakeholder management skills, working with stakeholders from across the organisation (and at different levels of seniority) to ensure that appropriate collaboration and consultation have informed this review.

You will be familiar with other research funders and networks, be able to work proactively and independently, and be enthusiastic about how equity, diversity and inclusion can be embedded into all areas of your work.

In the 1980s, high unemployment and steep inflation was contributing to a shocking rise in youth homelessness across London. Thousands of young people were sleeping rough every night, with many areas notoriously dubbed “cardboard cities” due to the visible rise in street homelessness. Appalled by the scenes playing out across the capital, a group of people came together to tackle the challenge head on. Led by Cardinal Basil Hume and Mark McGreevy OBE, in 1989 Depaul UK was born.

Deputy Manager - Step Forward Fostering

Location: Home-based - Applicants should live in or be close to Leeds & Bradford as they will be required to travel across these areas for home visits to support carers and children. Travel also requires the post holder to attend staff meetings in Yorkshire.

TheDeputy Manager (Step Forward Fostering) will be based in Leeds and Bradford, as travel across the region will be required. The successful candidate will also be required to travel to face-to-face meetings in Yorkshire at least once a month, as well as for other occasions, such as training and team wellbeing events.

Location: Hybrid (Remote based but with attendance required at key events and meetings in London).

Role Purpose
To lead on finance, governance and resources at SMT, providing senior insight on strategy and development. This role requires initiative, flexibility, a willingness to support colleagues across the organization, and strong organisational and communication skills,  including board reporting, leadership on finance reporting to the SMT and board with the ability to manage complex, detailed analysis. This role is well suited to someone aspiring to move into wider senior management; we place high value on ambition and a strong commitment to development within a high-performing organisation at Citizens Advice Lewisham.

Key Responsibilities
Finance Management: Manage income against expenditure with the CEO and HOA. Prepare management reports, budgets and forecasts, annual accounts and manage the audit and trustee annual report process. Provide strategic insight to the SMT on finance.

Governance and compliance: Manage the preparation of agendas, minutes, actions, board meetings, governance calendar and regulatory submissions, also ensuring that LSA obligations are met through scheduling review and approval by trustees on an annual basis.

Support systems Management: Oversee support to day-to-day operations, ensuring the team have the equipment and operating systems necessary to meet all obligations and objectives.

Management:  manage the Executive Assistant and Finance Officer.

Manage external contracts: Working with the CEO and HOA, ensure all contracts are fit for purpose and are good value for money and are delivering agreed outputs.

IT and phone systems: Manage the provision of IT services and our internal systems, building effective relationships with providers and ensuring continued and effective operations are available to the team.

SMT strategy: Providing strategic insight to the SMT on potential risks and opportunities for development across all areas of the role.

HR: Manage all HR functions including grievances, wellbeing, disciplinary, recruitment and onboarding. Working with the CEO to manage consultations with the union. Monitor and report to SMT and board on these areas.

Communication: Foster effective communication with colleagues and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity and collaboration and accountability.

Flexibility and Support: Demonstrate flexibility, ownership and collaboration to ensure smooth service delivery across the organisation.

Purpose of the Role:

The purpose of the role is to develop and foster long-term, multi-faceted relationships with people giving in memory, and deliver compassionate, personalised stewardship, so all supporters feel cared about and their gift is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use Salesforce (or similar CRM) to maintain and keep up to date all information and projects related to In Memory Giving and drawing on data insights, monitor performance, identify trends, opportunities for developments and support improvements to the care and long-term relationship with supporters.
• Use the Much Loved (or similar platform) to develop tributes and opportunities for further in memory dedications, event participation and increase financial donations. 
• Establish a communication process with funeral directors and keeping these records up to date on Salesforce.
• Much Loved to promote income generation keeping them as donors, repeating donations and taking part in events and dedications
• Ensure that all communications, across all mediums, reflect the values of the Fishermen’s Mission and our Christian ethos.
•  Working closely with the Digital Engagement Officer and the Digital Fundraising Officer to develop and promote In Memory Giving and storytelling via digital platforms
•  Work with the wider organisation including frontline staff to raise the profile of In Memory Giving (internally and externally) and providing information using both written and printed word to assist with conversations with clients and supporters.
• Provide reports and information as and when required by line manager.  
• Meet all targets and objectives as agreed with the line manager on an annual basis.
• Undertake training and networking opportunities, when and if required, to keep up to date with the wider charity sector.
• Work as part of the Business Development Team at all times, taking part in team events and projects and supporting other team members if required.
