About the Role:
As Senior Programme Manager, you will lead a team responsible for delivering a portfolio of national education programmes that support thousands of educators and young people across the UK. Combining leadership, operational oversight and practical support, you'll help ensure programmes deliver high-quality experiences and meaningful impact.

Community Volunteers Enabling You (COVEY) has been a lifeline for children, young people and families across Lanarkshire since 1992. The Side-by-Side project supports children in care and care leavers to have the same opportunities as those who have not experienced care.
For many young people, navigating the care system and especially the transition to leaving care can be complex, isolating, and overwhelming. Too often, care-experienced young people are expected to face adulthood before they are ready, without the safety nets of family, friends, and community networks that many of us take for granted.
The project provides a mentoring and befriending service, offering consistent, trusted relationships that help young people feel less alone, build confidence and life skills, and navigate key life changes as they move towards independence.
Side-by-Side supports young people with a range of needs, including those who may be at risk of exploitation, unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, and young people living with identified mental health challenges. The project is guided by strong safeguarding practice, built on trust, and delivered through trauma-informed, person-centred approaches.
Working 18 hours per week, you will work directly with young people through engagement sessions, group activities and co-designed initiatives. You will also work alongside volunteers, supporting them to safely and effectively engage with young people. This role does not involve acting as a young person’s key worker or holding a caseload. We are looking for an experienced, compassionate and motivated Domestic Abuse Service Manager to lead and develop our specialist services across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
This is much more than an operational management role. You will lead a committed team delivering support through safe accommodation, community and outreach services, helping ensure adults and children affected by domestic abuse receive safe, high-quality and empowering support when they need it most.

The opportunity
Reporting to the CEO, you will provide confident leadership across our domestic abuse services, managing a diverse team of practitioners, outreach workers, project staff, volunteers and others.
You’ll create a positive culture where staff feel valued, supported and able to deliver their best work, while maintaining high standards of safeguarding, quality and practice.
You’ll build strong relationships with police, housing, health, children’s services, courts, commissioners and voluntary sector partners, ensuring the voice, rights and safety of victim-survivors remain central.
As our Designated Safeguarding Lead, you’ll play a key role in developing a strong safeguarding culture across the organisation, ensuring concerns are managed effectively and learning leads to meaningful improvement.
You’ll also use data, outcomes and feedback to understand what is working, identify emerging needs and drive service development.

You’ll have experience of managing people and services, together with a strong understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on adults and children. Experience within domestic abuse, safeguarding, housing, social care, family support or a similar specialist service would be highly relevant.

Salary to be agreed depending on experience and will be pro-rata for part time hours.
This is an essential car user post. The applicant must hold a current UK driver’s licence, with no more than 6 points, have access to a car and be able and willing to drive UK wide as required.
This senior role requires flexibility in working hours and location. It is primarily offered on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in our Amersham, Buckinghamshire, office each week. As part of the role, UK and overseas travel is necessary, which may on occasion include early morning and/or evening working and sometimes overnight stays. We have policies in place to ensure that any unsociable hours worked over the weekend are fairly compensated through TOIL.

You will bring relevant professional experience, strong skills in assessment, engagement, safety planning and communication, and the ability to work safely in complex and high risk situations. We are seeking people who can hold clear boundaries and accountability while offering empathy, curiosity and respect. You will work in a trauma informed, survivor centred and strengths based way, recognising each survivor as the expert in their own life. You will understand how gendered power, oppression and structural barriers shape survivors’ experiences, and you will be confident applying these principles in your practice.
