The Finance Business Partner plays a vital role in helping teams across the organisation make wise, well informed decisions with the resources entrusted to them. We’re looking for a talented Individual Giving Manager to join the Fundraising & Communications Cluster at Embrace.

The Fundraising & Communications Cluster comprises expertise in fundraising, marketing, communication, trading (web shop), supporter engagement and retention. Working collaboratively, we serve our supporters by providing authentic and engaging communications inspiring active social witness, engagement and giving to charity. 

The Fundraising & Communications Cluster strengthens Embrace’s communication, education, and fundraising efforts to drive growth, so that more people engage with our content, more donors are attracted to support, and the UK church is more deeply engaged with the cause - enabling us to fund more work in the region and generate a deeper understanding of Christian service in the Middle East.

As Individual Giving Manager, you’ll help us grow sustainable income by keeping individual supporters inspired, informed and engaged - so they give again, stay longer, and deepen their support.

You will deliver an excellent supporter journey experience, project managing engaging and compelling direct and digital individual giving activity (including – but not limited to – appeals, regular giving conversion & upgrade, lapsed reactivation) and incorporating legacies marketing, raising more than £1m voluntary income each year.

What success looks like:

• Higher Life-Time Value (LTV): more second gifts, upgrades and cross channel giving; stronger legacy pipeline.
• Lower churn: reduced lapse rates for cash and regular givers.
• Better donor experience: faster thank yous, clearer impact reporting, higher satisfaction with fewer complaints/optouts.
• Sustainable mix: growth in regular giving and mid-value segments; predictable, repeatable income.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporter Experience & Journeys

• Map and continually improve journeys: welcome → second gift; regular giving nurture/upgrade; mid-value; legacy prospecting; lapsed reactivation; complaint recovery.
• Set cadence and channel mix (email, mail, phone, SMS, social, events, digital) for consistent, donor‑first communications in appropriate channels and accessible formats.
• Donor first approach: clear, inclusive language; accessible formats; low‑friction giving/retention flows and personalisation e.g. name, last gift, interests, location, project etc.
• Collaborate with Content & Communications colleagues to deliver content that shares the impact of support i.e. what donors make possible and Embrace’s brand story.

Segmentation, Testing & Insight

• Track Regular Giving net growth; diagnose attrition drivers and fix root causes; maintain acceptable Return on Investment (ROIs).
• Lead supporter segmentation (by behaviour & interest) and A/B testing (offer, timing, upgrade prompts).
• Adopt an evidence-based, test and learn‑ approach; analyse appeals, campaign performance and share insights to drive decisions.
• Work with colleagues to build insight dashboard and understanding of retention.

Mid‑Value & Legacy Development

• Steward mid‑value donors with tailored journeys; warm handovers to and from Major Giving Manager.
• Develop and test legacy propositions and routes to market to grow enquiries and pledges.

Acquisition & Cross‑Sell

• Project manage individual giving product development and testing; identify new audiences and routes to market.
• Collaborate with Web Shop team and the Digital Marketing Campaigns Manager to optimise Alternative Gifts and cross-sell opportunities focusing on a digital first approach.

Cross-Team Collaboration

• Work closely with the Supporter Experience Team to ensure that supporter journeys are being optimised and feedback from supporters is being captured and acted upon.
• Commission and work with the CRM and Systems Manager to develop clear and understandable dashboards, ensuring that the insights are used to develop plans and measure performance.
• Closely liaise with the Legacy administration team, working with them to ensure the packs and information are up to date and legacy marketing information complies with the latest Institute of Legacy Management standards.
• Develop an understanding of the Partner projects and Advocacy agenda, ensure all supporter briefings are aligned to agreed messaging.

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge:

• Educated to degree standard or equivalent (E.g. practical experience within fundraising).
• Member of Chartered Institute of Fundraising.
• Proven individual giving or CRM led retention experience in a charity, membership or subscription context. 
• Hands‑on journey design and automation.
• Strong data literacy: segmentation, dashboards (CRM/Excel), test and learn. 
• Excellent written communication—able to brief compelling, impacted content and clear supporter updates. 
• Practical project management; calm under pressure; collaborative and solutions focused.

St Benedict’s Centre Warden

Part Time – 21 hours (3 days) per week

The St Benedict’s Centre is situated within the grounds of Malling Abbey, the home of an Anglican Benedictine religious community in the heart of the Kent countryside. It is a place of great beauty, a liminal space which draws deeply on its spiritual heritage and tradition to engage with the needs of contemporary society: education, training, counselling, holistic therapy, study days, quiet days, workshops and much more.

We are seeking a Centre Warden to provide overall leadership for the Centre, taking responsibility for setting culture and vision across the organization. The Centre Warden will develop strong and successful relationships with key external partners, deliver an imaginative programme for spiritual retreats and quiet days, and ensure that there are sufficient resources available for the Centre to flourish.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience and understanding of retreat and quiet day programming in a setting like St Benedict’s. You will be able to build relational capital with a range of stakeholders, and have excellent organisational and communications skills.

About the role

Reporting in to the Campaigns Advisor, the Campaigns Officer will lead on the delivery of Christian Aid campaigns aimed at both movement building (through the development of supporters’ agency and ability to lead campaigns), and mobilisation (encouraging key audiences in the church and the wider to public to achieve strategic policy, legislative and culture change).

The post-holder will be develop and deliver high impact plans, tactics and activities that align with the strategies developed for campaigns, in relation to supporting churches and community groups (with a focus on Black Christians, Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches, and young adult Christians) and mobilising supporters to engage advocacy targets in political, private sector or in church environments.

Some of the main areas of responsibility for the Campaigns Officer include:

• Develop and implement movement building and mobilisation strategies, tactics and plans for Christian Aid's core campaigns, proactively identifying opportunities for meaningful change.
• Materials are created, communications events are developed and delivered, and campaign tools are rolled out for target audiences that engage and inspire a deeper understanding of how to approach global justice and poverty issues; and that engage and inspire them to undertake campaign actions and maximise impact.
• Organising opportunities are developed, tested and learnt from to support churches and other public audiences in the delivery of core campaigns.
• Digital opportunities are maximised to mobilise church and other public audiences at scale to influence advocacy targets on core campaigns.
• Young Adult Christians are resourced and supported, deepening their understanding about issues of global justice and poverty, and empower their own agency to tackle these issues and to be a key part of campaigns.
• Organising and power building principles are embedded in campaign strategies and tactics and meet organisational values and goals.
• Ensure coalition campaigning is influenced and/or led (where appropriate) by Christian Aid and meets organisational values and goals.
• Campaigns Volunteer roles are created, recruited and effectively managed, creating a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Collaborate with staff across IPE, ensuring they are supported to engage their key audiences and involved with movement building and mobilisation, embracing a team mindset aligned with organisational values and goals.

This role is a fixed term contract for a period of around 6-months

About you

Essential:

• Knowledge of campaigning, activism and organising methodologies and techniques: how to promote a campaign and mobilise a wide range of supporters to win campaigns.
• Proven project management skills.
• Experience of campaigning (preferably in a community or church-based context) and movement building including digital campaigning, resource-production, event management, writing and marketing.
• The ability to communicate complex messages creatively and effectively to diverse audiences through a range of different media.

We are seeking someone strategic and relational to strengthen and develop all aspects of fundraising for Yeldall Manor, and to lead a new marketing and fundraising campaign. The Berkshire and Hampshire Borders (BHB) Methodist Circuit is a network of twenty-five churches across western Berkshire and northern Hampshire, united by a vision to proclaim God's love as a justice-seeking community. Our mission is to be a growing, inclusive, and evangelistic church where faith deepens and communities are transformed. 

As Operations Manager, you'll be the backbone supporting our work. Working with the Leadership Team, you'll coordinate the operational infrastructure that keeps twenty-five autonomous churches running — from property and finance to safeguarding and compliance — empowering churches and outreach staff to deliver high-quality support to church members and vulnerable people.

The Role
You'll provide operational guidance and support to the Circuit Leadership Team and Circuit Meeting (Trustees), attending meetings and preparing reports on governance matters. You'll manage the Circuit Finance Officer, ensuring sound accounting practices, financial controls, and reporting. Across property, you'll oversee 19 houses — coordinating quinquennial inspections, maintenance plans, manse preparation for incoming ministers, externally managed letting of surplus properties, and professional appointments for sales and purchases. You'll also support energy and telecoms contract negotiations.

In safeguarding, you'll co-lead the Circuit Safeguarding Team, coordinate training, and maintain records of DBS checks. For health and safety, you'll guide churches on policies, risk assessments, and fire safety, with professional support as needed. On EDI, you'll maintain awareness of Methodist policy, coordinate training, and promote inclusive practice. You'll line manage the Administration Finance Officer and Administration Officer.

Key Details
Permanent role, £45,000–£55,000, 37.5 hours per week based in Reading, Berkshire with occasional evening or weekend working and travel across the area. 33 days annual leave including public holidays, contributory pension, reasonable expenses reimbursed plus a training funded. This Job Is For You If…
You have experience in an operational, administrative, or management role coordinating processes, policies, and systems. You've supported multiple stakeholders — staff, volunteers, or committees and have familiarity with safeguarding, health and safety, or compliance. You're organised, an excellent communicator, and can work with sensitivity within a faith-based organisation. You hold a full driving licence with access to a reliable vehicle and are willing to travel. Desirably, you have a relevant qualification, experience with financial administration or property management, and understanding of Methodist Church structures.

You'll have significant training opportunities, including a substantial overlap with the outgoing postholder for thorough knowledge transfer.

This role is far more than fundraising. It is an opportunity to play a meaningful part in a Christ-centred ministry that seeks to bring glory to God through the way we serve beneficiaries, supporters, volunteers and one another.

The role will involve writing about the charity’s firm Christian foundation and may include taking an active role in providing compassionate and consistent care to beneficiaries. You will take part in prayer times and may have opportunities to share personal testimony of experiencing Jesus’ love with beneficiaries and members of the local community. There may also be occasions to support presentations representing Caring For Life, particularly within churches and Christian organisations.

About the Role

The PR team is responsible for generating, sustaining and growing the charity’s income year after year by communicating the work, ministry and financial needs of Caring For Life to a wide range of audiences.

The Trust Fundraiser will focus primarily on securing funding from Trusts, Foundations and grant-making bodies, whilst also helping to nurture relationships with major donors and exploring opportunities for corporate support.

As part of the PR team, the successful candidate will also support wider PR activities during busy periods, including Open Days, Supporters’ Days, formal visits and practical tasks at peak times.

Organisational Structure

The PR team is line managed by the Executive Director, with additional support from the CEO regarding pastoral insight and communication with churches and other Christian groups.

Background Information

Caring For Life has an established and respected Trust fundraising programme, with longstanding relationships built over many years. Alongside carefully stewarding these relationships, the charity continually researches and develops new funding opportunities.

At the end of the financial year 2026, income from Trusts totalled circa £265,000

Main Duties

• Undertake induction and training relevant to the role.
• Maintain and develop the existing Trusts database.
• Ensure reports and funding applications are submitted accurately and on time.
• Keep clear records of applications, correspondence, grants received and acknowledgements sent.
• Research new Trusts and funding opportunities using online systems, publications and resources such as Invisible Grantmakers.
• Work with project leaders and senior managers to identify fundable projects and budget requirements.
• Attend budget meetings and assist staff in understanding funding allocations.
• Prepare compelling funding proposals, reports and covering letters.
• Liaise with the Design and Media team regarding photography and supporting materials.
• Maintain records and communication with major donors as requested by the Executive Committee.
• Support and grow corporate donor relationships.
• Conduct all duties in a professional and Christ-like manner that honours the Lord Jesus Christ and protects the reputation of Caring For Life.
• Undertake relevant in-house and external training as required.

Please note that while this role has a primary focus within fundraising and PR, all appointments at Caring For Life are to the wider ministry of the Trust. Staff may occasionally be required to support other areas of work according to the needs of the ministry and the welfare of beneficiaries.

CAP is the catalyst to a church-based movement against poverty, partnering with churches across the 4 nations of the UK. Our products and services equip and inspire nearly 3000 local CAP workers and volunteers in their mission to come alongside those that are in financial crisis or vulnerability to bring practical help and the good news of Jesus.. CAP stands with the local church in its mission to its community.  Currently these products include Debt Help, Job Clubs, Life Skills and Money Coaching and it is the development of these offerings that form the core focus of the role.

These service lines have been built at different times by different people and sit quite separately. Today we have a clear view of our target client, a new set of models for how we partner with churches and so we want to architect now are the customer journeys and experiences that draw these threads together. 

Purpose:

This role of Head of Customer Experience (CX) and Service Innovation reports to the Chief Agility Officer, and is the chief service architect of the CAP church-based movement’s ecosystem. This role will lead our transition towards a modular suite of services, ensuring every interaction across our audiences are seamless, dignifying and high-impact. The role is responsible for balancing safety, regulation and theology with flexibility and innovation, enabling a national movement to grow at scale.

Team and Capability Development

• Capability Leadership: Recruit, manage, and mentor a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team, fostering a collaborative and mission-driven culture.

• Maturity of Practice: Define and establish best-in-class methodologies and quality standards for CX, service blueprinting, user research, and rapid prototyping across the Agility team, ensuring all practices align with the FCA/Safeguarding regulatory requirements.

• Movement-Led CX: Focus on Partner Effort.  Designing digital and physical journeys that make it significantly easier for a church to join, launch, and sustain a CAP ministry.

• Movement-Focused Impact: Simplifying the technology stack church partners are wrestling with.  Evolving CAP’s digital infrastructure from a fragmented set of tools, towards an integrated Mission Suite.

• Productisation of Onboarding: Partner with the wider movement to turn the onboarding process into a high-quality product that inspires and equips without lag and reduces pain points.

Decentralised Content & Knowledge Strategy

• Community Drive Content Strategy: Shift content from centralised, high-production manuals to a dynamic, community-curated Knowledge Commons.

• Modular Learning: Ensure all training and coaching materials are bite-sized, searchable, and easily swappable, reflecting the diverse voices of the UK-wide movement.

Impact-Led Design

• Embedded Insight: Work with the Head of Impact to bake measurement frameworks into service design. Ensure that impact data is a real-time byproduct of the service, not an additional task for the church.

• Data Completeness at Source: Work with the Head of Impact to increase the percentage of impact data points (as defined by the the impact framework) captured automatically during the natural flow of service delivery (reducing the need for manual surveys or back-office data entry).

• Enabling the Impact Community of Practice: Work with the Head of Impact to ensure Insight and Evidence content is accurately and efficiently captured through good design.

• Closing the Feedback Loop: Translating voices across Client, Church and Supporter.  Working with insights from across the movement into immediate improvements.

Senior Leadership Team Contributions:

• Be a key member of the Agility and organisation leadership team, demonstrating and living out CAP’s values.

• Provide strategic counsel to the Chief Agility Officer and Executive Leadership Team on product-related matters.

• Represent CAP at industry events and conferences, establishing the organisation as a thought leader in the social impact space.

• Lead cross-functional initiatives to drive organisational change and improve overall operational efficiency.

  • Platform Democratisation: Advocate for low-code/no-code solutions that move configuration closer to the business teams, reducing technical bottlenecks and increasing the speed of test and learn.

• Team Capability Index: Achieve an agreed-upon score on the internal capability maturity assessment for the CX/Innovation function

• Partner Effort Score (PES): A specific metric measuring "How easy was it to launch your latest CAP service?" (Target: Year-on-year reduction in perceived effort).

• Modular Component Adoption: The percentage of church partners using at least one component (e.g. a centre created idea) alongside traditional CAP created products and services.

• Partner Retention Rate: Reduction of the number of centres who leave due to system/process frustration

• Partner Created Content Usage Ratio: Track an increase in the percentage of church-contributed content that is verified and adopted by other churches in the movement.

• Onboarding Automation: The percentage of the Church Partner Journey that is self-service vs. requiring manual intervention from the Church and Client Support team.

• Meantime to innovation: Reducing the time it takes from idea to implementation.

• Innovation Roadmap: Developing an inspiring and impact focused roadmap with detailed business cases and projected impact targets, ready for philanthropic engagement

• Team Engagement/Retention: Maintain an average team engagement score above the organisational target and meet specific goals for voluntary staff turnover within the immediate team.

Your role

We are looking for a proactive and talented individual who has demonstrable experience of working in trust fundraising, and who can build rapport and meaningful relationships with key trustees and major donors. Writing and submitting applications and proposals to trusts will be the core focus of your role, with a view to securing sizeable donations for the work of CMS. You will also have a small caseload of existing individual major donors and small family trusts to both retain and grow their financial giving. You will have outstanding relationship building skills and an ability to establish rapport quickly with existing and prospective trusts and major donors. You will be a confident and able communicator across a variety of media, including written correspondence, telephone, online and in-person face-to-face meetings.  You will be able to demonstrate a strong ability to cultivate existing trust and major donor relationships (or equivalent customer / sales or account management roles) as well as experience of having implemented acquisition strategies in order to grow income through significant major gifts.

Additionally, excellent database and administrative knowledge are essential.
