A chartered professional membership body has a contract opportunity available that is likely to extend, initially up to May 2027. for a Volunteer Coordinator or Events professional to join them to help support their professional volunteer networks with excellent customer service, administration and events coordination. This opportunity offers flexible hybrid working arrangements.

As the Membership Networks Coordinator, you will support volunteers in the organisation and promotion of online and in person events, as well as supporting during events and meetings. At both local and national events, you will also act as an ambassador for the organisation. You will also provide administrative support to the volunteer management team, this can include being the first point of contact for day-to-day communications with key stakeholders, responding to queries in a timely and helpful way, liaising with IT when volunteers have IT issues, and maintaining up to date contacts and records for all volunteers.  As well as be at events in person to support. 

You will have the following skills and experience:
* Experience of working with volunteers and in a customer facing role
* Good communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and members via email, phone and face-to-face
* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to keep accurate, up to date records
* Excellent IT literacy, especially Microsoft Office and using a CRM database
* Experience with setting up webinar and online meeting platforms, such as MS Teams, Zoom etc.
* Strong time-management and organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and co-ordinate other people/diary management.
* Self motivated, pro-active and driven

 There will be an occassional need for you to take a turn to attend an evening in person, which you will be able to take time off in lieu.  Team members work collaboratively to cover this need in turns.

Salary:  £34,000 - £36,000

• Ensure every Emergency Department and Critical Care unit has a suitable bereavement suite
• Ensure that bereavement boxes are available at each of these hospitals
• Ensure that immediate bereavement support is available for all affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide a professional counselling service and complementary therapies for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support to individuals who witness the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• To advocate and campaign on behalf of suddenly bereaved families

We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under in Wales and the bordering counties in England, including; Cheshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Avon and Somerset, with the plan to continue to roll out support to the whole of England. We work in partnership with professionals who refer int the charity on behalf of families, so they don’t have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.

Context of role:

Corporate partnerships raise vital income and awareness, allowing 2wish to support anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person.

The Partnerships Coordinator provides coordination, administrative and relationship support across corporate partnerships, event sponsorship and partner stewardship.

Working closely with the Partnerships Manager, the role supports activity across Wales and England, ensuring partner engagement is well organised, accurately recorded and followed up.

The postholder will work with fundraising, events, marketing and regional colleagues to support a joined-up approach to partnership delivery.

The role will involve travel across Wales and England, with some evening and weekend work required.

Key Responsibilities:

Partnerships Coordination and Delivery

• Support the Partnerships Manager to coordinate and deliver corporate partnership activity across Wales and England.
• Act as a point of contact for agreed corporate partners, sponsors and supporters, ensuring enquiries and actions are followed up promptly and professionally.
• Coordinate partner relationships, including communications, meetings, fundraising activity, sponsorship benefits and internal updates.
• Support the preparation of partnership materials including briefing notes, proposals, presentations, impact updates and stewardship communications.
• Attend partner meetings, networking opportunities, fundraising events and sponsorship activity as required.

Partner Stewardship and Engagement

• Support the stewardship of corporate partners, helping them feel valued, informed and connected to the work of 2wish.
• Prepare thank-you messages, follow-up emails, partner updates and impact communications.
• Coordinate partner acknowledgement and recognition with the Marketing & Communications team, including social media content, website updates, event materials and agreed benefits.
• Coordinate agreed partner activity, including fundraising initiatives, volunteering opportunities, awareness-raising and staff engagement.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen partner engagement and long-term relationships.

New Opportunities and Research

• Support the identification of new corporate partnership, sponsorship and partner fundraising opportunities.
• Research potential partners, local businesses, networks and sponsorship prospects aligned to 2wish’s work and values.
• Help develop external networks that support income growth, awareness and regional engagement.
• Prepare background information and draft materials for new business conversations led by the Partnerships Manager and Head of Fundraising.
• Track prospects, approaches, next steps and outcomes.

Event Sponsorship and Partner Activity

• Support the planning and delivery of sponsorship activity across 2wish events.
• Track and manage sponsor benefits, including acknowledgements, deadlines, logos, guest places, marketing requirements, payments and post-event follow-up.
• Work with the Events Coordinator and Marketing team to deliver sponsor activity effectively.
• Coordinate corporate partner involvement in events, including attendance, promotion, fundraising activity and supporter engagement.
• Support post-event stewardship, including thank-you communications, impact updates and renewal follow-up.

CRM, Reporting and Administration

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of corporate partners, prospects, sponsors, meetings, actions and income activity.
• Ensure all partnership activity is recorded consistently on the CRM and agreed internal systems.
• Monitor key timelines, including renewals, sponsorship deadlines, meetings, follow-up actions and reporting requirements.
• Support regular updates on partnership activity, pipeline progress, sponsorship status and key actions.
• Contribute to improving templates, processes and ways of working to ensure partnership activity is consistent and easy to manage.
• Share relevant updates with colleagues to ensure partnership activity is visible, coordinated and followed up.

Internal Collaboration

• Work with colleagues across 2wish, including fundraising, events, marketing and communications, and finance to ensure joined-up partnership activity.
• Collaborate with Regional Fundraisers to capture local corporate contacts, opportunities and activity, including identifying where local relationships may have wider partnership or sponsorship potential.
• Share relevant updates so partnership activity is visible, coordinated and followed up.
• Support a consistent and professional approach to corporate partnerships across Wales and England.

General:

• Be responsible for organising own work agenda, time management and administration.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures including GDPR, Safeguarding, Confidentiality, Health and Safety and Lone Working, and implement safe working practices as appropriate.
• Attend weekend and evening events in support of the charity as necessary.
• Travel across Wales and England as required.
• Participate in team meetings, one-to-one meetings, training and development activity relevant to the role.

What we do for you:

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Normal office hours are 9am - 5pm, although alternative hours may be worked with line manager agreement. Work outside office hours may sometimes be necessary and will be compensated for by time off in lieu.

Annual leave: 28 days plus bank holidays. Annual leave steadily increases after five years of service. Annual leave and statutory holidays are calculated on a pro rata basis where applicable.

Pension: 2wish operate a contributory pension scheme. 2wish will auto-enrol you into the scheme in accordance with it's auto-enrolment obligations. About Care4Calais and the Legal Access Department

Care4Calais is a volunteer-based charity providing essential aid and support for refugees in France and the UK.

In northern France we operate year-round from Calais, working alongside communities in Calais and Dunkirk to provide warm clothing, bedding and service provision to displaced people who live in difficult and dangerous conditions.

Across the UK we collect and distribute clothes, shoes, mobile phones and other essential items, as well as providing psycho social support and interaction, including language lessons, sport and music workshops. We also help with vital access to medical and educational services.

Our Legal Access Department is an access to justice project that exists to support people seeking asylum in the UK by facilitating access to legal representation and offering holistic support to people throughout the asylum process. The department, made up mostly of specially trained volunteers, works tirelessly to ensure that people feel informed, empowered, and far less isolated and alone. We conduct one-to-one, complex casework for people seeking asylum for a variety of matters, over the years we have supported thousands of people to secure legal representation. Our current casework channels include securing legal representation and support for people’s asylum claims, challenges to unsuitable accommodation and potential removal from the UK (for example under the current UK-France ‘One in One out’ deal), and support for young people in their age dispute matters. Our teams work remotely across the UK. The Department seeks to adapt and amend our services based on the needs of the communities that we work with.

About the role

The aim of the role is to support and inspire volunteer teams to undertake the individual one-to-one casework and support that lies at the heart of what the Legal Access Department does, furthering access to justice for people seeking asylum and refugees. The Casework Manager will be responsible for the casework conducted by our Asylum Team, which focuses on securing legal representation for our client's asylum claims and offering holistic support through the difficulties of the asylum process. Casework managers will use their experience and understanding of the UK asylum system and conducting complex casework to guide their teams, working collaboratively with each other and the Head of Department to respond with agility to a fast-moving policy environment.

Responsibilities

Volunteer Management

• Lead existing team(s) of volunteers to undertake their specified roles as agreed with the Head of Department
• Conduct quarterly 1:1s with volunteers to give and receive feedback, reaffirm commitments, review caseloads, support with more complex cases, and ensure volunteer wellbeing. Escalate any issues and/or concerns to the Head of Department where necessary.
• Motivate and engage volunteers, taking into account the remote nature of the roles, collaborating with other Casework Managers.

The Organisation

Equal Education is a social enterprise working to improve outcomes and narrow the attainment gap for disadvantaged and vulnerable learners, including Children Looked After, those with SEND, and unaccompanied asylum seeking children. We have over 13 years’ experience delivering 1:1 tuition, working with hundreds of Schools and Local Authority partners across the country, reaching hundreds of pupils annually. 

As a member of the Fair Education Alliance, we believe in providing meaningful educational provision to students whose needs may not be best met within a traditional classroom environment, those who aren’t currently accessing education, or who benefit from additional 1:1 support. We work with over 200 qualified teachers to provide academic, subject specialised and individual tutoring and mentoring for children of all ages. Tutors provide pastoral care and work with pupils to increase engagement and attainment. Our programmes will help the students to overcome barriers to learning, help them build trusted relationships, increase their aspirations, and fulfil their potential. What is the Role?
In this role, you will drive business growth by securing new partnerships and managing key client accounts across designated regions. With a focus on building and sustaining long-term local council and school relationships, you will work closely with clients to understand their needs, expand our service offerings, and ensure the highest levels of satisfaction. As the majority of our key client relationships are with local councils, we are looking for someone with knowledge of how they operate.

Senior Event Management:

5+ years’ experience delivering complex, large-scale event programmes from initial concept to final execution.

Income & Growth:

Proven track record in event income generation, including sponsorship, exhibitor sales, and executing effective marketing strategies.

Sector Knowledge:

Understanding of the education system, current policy issues and political developments affecting schools, or the willingness to learn.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in virtual event platforms ie, zoom; CRM systems and G Suite; and, event-specific platforms and AV.

Job Title: Grants and Learning Manager
Reporting to: Head of Grants
Responsible for: No direct reports
Based: Our Head Office is based in Kensington, London SW7, but we have an agile working policy enabling people to work at another UK location up to 4 days/week. Requests for permanent remote working will be considered and we welcome applications from people based in other parts of the UK. Some UK travel will be required.
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week. Requests for part-time (0.8FTE minimum) or flexible working will be considered
Contract: Fixed term contract to the end of December 2027
Salary: £35,457 - £46,811 FTE per annum

About the role

We are seeking to appoint someone on a fixed term contract to the end of December 2027, to join our Grants Team in delivering The Ideas Fund, an exciting programme which looks to connect communities with researchers in order to develop and try out ideas related to mental wellbeing. The Fund is delivered in four areas of the UK – Oldham, Hull, the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, and North West Northern Ireland, although this role can be remote, based anywhere in the UK.

With support from the Head of Grants, we expect that you will have lead responsibility for grant management across these areas, building strong relationships with our Development Co-ordinators and contributing to the successful delivery of the overall programme.

You will oversee the support for grant holders to learn from what is working and feed this learning into our overall approach with the Fund, as well as sharing insights externally. It’s an exciting time for the Fund as we work to build partnerships with others who are interested in community-led approaches to working with research and researchers. You will work with our existing Grants & Learning Manager to ensure that our due diligence and grant reporting requirements are met, responding flexibly and creatively to issues that arise. Importantly, you will consistently focus on how our learning can influence long term change in funding and research practice.

As noted in the job description, we also expect this role to include supporting the Head of Grants with developing the BSA’s strategy around future grants programmes. This may include working across funding programmes other than The Ideas Fund as they are developed and funding secured.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Head of Grants and our existing Grants and Learning Manager to continue to deliver an innovative programme that constantly evolves based on what we learn.
• Ensure excellent grant-making using relational, flexible and participatory approaches with high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Champion innovation in supporting community/researcher collaboration, community-led research, systems change and grant making across relevant sectors including:
  • Developing and delivering strategies for sharing learning, practice and ideas with a broad range of stakeholders through a range of approaches
  • Representing the British Science Association at external events to share innovation and learning
  • Developing and delivering events and/or content to showcase practice and share learning with a broad range of stakeholders using a range of approaches
• Support the implementation of our learning and evaluation strategies and processes, reviewing and refining as needed. Manage relationships and/or contracts with learning partners where appropriate
• Oversee the smooth delivery of the programme, including budget management, payment processing, due diligence activity etc.
• Support local Development Co-ordinators to:
  • Work with grant holders, collaborating researchers and project partners to overcome challenges they might face in delivering their projects
  • Collate and share local learning as part of wider learning strategies
• Develop and manage a small pipeline of discretionary grants to add value to the portfolio and/or make systemic impact at local or national level, if necessary. Develop bespoke application and grant management and learning processes as appropriate
• Engage a network of key existing stakeholders, and build further external relationships, to ensure successful delivery of the programme
• Support the Head of Grants with developing the BSA’s strategy around future grants programmes. In addition, the post-holder will be expected to:
  • Support colleagues across the organisation, especially at busy times or on specific areas of expertise
  • Other duties as reasonably required by the line manager

About you

The Grants & Learning Manager role would suit someone who has strong stakeholder management skills and experience in curating and sharing learning. Good attention to detail, experience of grant-making, and an understanding of the benefits and risks involved in delivering innovative grant-making approaches would all be beneficial.

The role would suit someone who is comfortable using their judgement and working with an evolving programme, and who can confidently communicate with a variety of stakeholders. We are particularly interested to hear from people who have experience in supporting and influencing wider systems change.

Your experience in terms of the person specification could come from either a personal or professional background. You may not have experience of everything listed in the person specification, but will be open to challenging yourself and developing in the role.

Beyond your technical skills of producing high-quality content, you’ll have great interpersonal and communication sills, allowing you to build great working relationships across departments within CCLG and with key stakeholders, including our professional members and those with lived experience of children and young people’s cancer.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis, with an expectation of two days per week in our Leicester office.
