Hybrid - London based 2 days per week
This exciting role will support the Events and Community team deliver their third-party event portfolio, focusing on the 2027 Double TCS London Marathon. The postholder will provide the day to day administrative and operational support in the lead up to London Marathon, including application processing, database management, deliver great customer service and stewardship, as well as supporting with race week logistics. You will also assist with activities across the wider events portfolio.

What you will do
A year-in-the-life of our Largs-based Communications and Media Officer has two distinct parts. October to April - where it’s all about getting the word out there to support fundraising and encouraging young people to sign up for our life-changing adventures. Then it’s the summer - May to September - when the magic happens and you’re around the trips, interviewing young people and telling their stories. You can go sailing on the trips too!
You will be responsible for identifying story opportunities year-round, and writing press releases, media advisories or editorial content to pitch those stories to a range of media outlets, from local newspapers and regional broadcasters to national, charity, marine and other specialist publications, and facilitating inbound requests for interviews or other profile-raising opportunities.
You will serve as our go-to copywriter for print, online and digital marketing materials as well as writing other articles and feature content as requested. This includes responsibility for writing and overseeing the production of our annual in-house publication, Inspire.
You will also work closely with the social media team, gathering (and if you have the experience, producing) multimedia content for our digital and online platforms. There will be wider responsibilities across the communications team too.

Ahead of the charity's Centenary in 2027, we are looking for a fixed term Centenary Communications Assistant and Archivist to support with the planning and delivery of the charity's Centenary communications campaign by organising, digitising and managing archive materials. The role will ensure the charity’s history is accessible and effectively used to support storytelling, engagement, fundraising and communications activities, helping to celebrate and inspire audiences during its 100th anniversary year.

Archive and digital asset management
Sort, assess and organise historic photographs, printed materials and other archive assets linked to the charity’s history.

They record all of our donations in our fundraising database; they make sure all of our donor data is up to date; and they are often part of the early stewardship journey for our supporters.

The Part-Time Facilities and Operations Assistant plays a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of The Thornbury Centre. Working alongside a small team of staff and volunteers, the postholder will help ensure that the Centre remains safe, clean, welcoming for all users, tenants, staff, volunteers, and visitors.
This is a varied and hands-on role, involving assisting the Centre Manager in building operations, room set-up, health and safety checks, basic maintenance tasks, and supporting the delivery of activities and events. As a public-facing member of the team, the successful candidate will be friendly, approachable, reliable, and committed to providing an excellent experience for everyone who uses the Centre.

We are currently looking for a Retail Assistant to join our Retail, Services and Operations team at our shop in Scarborough.
As a Retail Assistant, you will support the Shop Manager and Deputy Shop Manager and work alongside volunteers, playing an active part in running a successful Charity Shop. This includes stock management, merchandising, operating the till and providing excellent customer service.
You will need to be committed to creating a welcoming professional atmosphere and demonstrating the values of Yorkshire Cancer Research. You will also be a passionate and enthusiastic ambassador for the charity and its work.
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have worked in a retail environment, have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office programmes, good communication skills and the ability to motivate yourself and others.
