About you

You bring working knowledge of Figma, GA4, and front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience in managing and/or coaching others is important, as you’ll help support and develop talent within our team.

Working arrangements

This is a hybrid role, where your work will be split between your home and at least one day per week, on average, in our London Office. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

Endometriosis UK is the leading UK charity supporting those living with endometriosis. Formed in 1981, we offer information and support, for example through our website, information leaflets and webinars, and via our local support groups, Helplines and online forum.  As well as directly supporting those with endometriosis, we work to raise awareness of endometriosis amongst healthcare professionals, the public and the media; lobby for improved diagnosis, treatment and management; and support research. This role sits at the heart of Endometriosis UK working closely with the Community Engagement and Volunteer Manager, Support and Information Administrator and our Volunteer Coordinators based in England and Wales to facilitate the delivery of our support services through our network of volunteers.

At Endometriosis UK, our team of close to 200 trained volunteers are at the very heart of what we do. The empathy, generosity and commitment of our volunteers enables us to run all our support services, ensuring we can help and support all those affected by endometriosis.

The Scottish Development Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring we support and grow a thriving volunteer network, this involves working with the team to recruit, mobilise and inspire volunteers in their chosen roles. The Scottish Development Coordinator will ensure volunteers are supported at every stage of their journey to ensure those accessing our support services are well supported whilst ensuring the volunteer contributions are recognised and their achievements celebrated.

The post holder will help to expand our reach in Scotland to help raise the charity’s profile and ensure we are delivering vital supportive services to everyone affected by in Scotland this includes work with the wider team to develop exciting new projects to achieve our ambitious goals.

Consultant to cover maternity leave for the Project Officer, Inclusive Eye Health Project in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe

Title: Project Officer, Inclusive Eye Health Project - maternity cover

Location: Bulawayo, Zimbabwe

Anticipated Consultancy Length: Four Months

Overall objective 

The purpose of this consultancy is to provide maternity cover services for a period of four months (01 April-31 July 2026) for the Project Officer, Inclusive Eye Health Project. The Project Officer leads and coordinates the implementation of Inclusive Eye Health (IEH) programmes in Matabeleland North, Zimbabwe. The role is designed to ensure effective collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Child Care, Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality eye health services in the province. Since the project is implemented in all the 7 districts of Matabeleland North Province, it is practical to have this person based in a satellite office in Bulawayo for easy coordination of stakeholders and project activities. 

The Project Officer is responsible for managing daily operations, monitoring and evaluating project outcomes, supporting capacity building, and contributing to research and innovation. Ultimately, the position aims to enhance the impact and quality of Sightsavers’ programmes through strategic coordination, partnership management, and continuous improvement. 

Principal Accountabilities (specific activities and end results): 

Project coordination

• Support all Sightsavers supported eye health activities by providing effective management and coordination to the project to ensure the delivery of set targets.
• Coordinate all OPD related activities as part of IEH project through working with different OPD groups to ensure adherence to workplans and budget for the achievement of planned project outputs.
• Coordinate capacity building initiatives for health workers and OPDs 
• Support partner teams and OPDs groups to identify and develop innovative approaches for the delivery of an inclusive eye health project in the Matabeleland North 
• Coordinate the preparation of activity related reports as well as quarterly and annual reports to Sightsavers / donors as may be required. 

Monitoring and Evaluation

• Support the Snr Programme Officer in monitoring project implementation in the province. Conduct quarterly project visits and follow up on outstanding issues.
• Provide support to OPD groups and steering committee during targeted outreach activities and monitoring visits to project facilities. 
• Support in reviewing the evidence provided by partners for the delivery of activities and ensure proper reporting system and records are kept in place.
• The position will be responsible for guiding the overall Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Strategy and use of M&E methodology necessary for attaining the project goals. 
• Monitor project expenditure to ensure that it is in line with the budget envelope and value for money is observed. 

Representation and Networking 

• Represent the Programme Manager at various meetings and discussions at relevant government Ministries and other agencies.

Research

• Coordinate the design and conduct of patient satisfaction studies to assess the quality of services provided at project facilities. 

Budget and payment schedule 

• It is estimated this consultancy will take in full 4 months of consultancy time.
• A total fee of USD 2,500 per month (USD$10,000) as stipulated above will be invoiced to the Client by the Consultant upon signing this agreement whereby 100% of the total claim will be paid by the 25th of each month, subject to deliverables being met.
• Withholding tax of 30% shall be charged if a valid tax clearance is not presented at the time of payment. 
• Other activity charges including venue, travel to and from the hotels to activity venues, accommodation and meals will be covered by Sightsavers. 

Skills and Experience

Minimal qualifications for a Lead Consultant/ Team Members 

Qualifications and experience: 

• Degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or related disciplines (post-graduate degree will be an advantage).

• Extensive experience in programme/project management, ideally in an INGO setting.

• Technical knowledge of Eye Health in Zimbabwe

• Understanding of Disability Inclusive Development

• Experience in working with OPDs groups will be an added advantage.

• Experience in monitoring and evaluation and research

• Understanding of the health system in Zimbabwe

• Experience in advocacy.

The Community Builder will help people set up new groups, and ensure our groups are well supported, informed, and connected, while also exploring new ways for people to organise together, including thematic and digital communities.

Alongside relationship-building, the role carries responsibility for ensuring community activity is underpinned by clear processes, agreements, and risk management, so that grassroots organising is safe and sustainable.

This is a manager-level role, working with autonomy and initiative, with scope to grow into line management in future.

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Development Research Officer (SDRO), the Development Research Officer (DRO) plays a vital role in the University’s fundraising operation.

This is an appointment to a Development Researcher role, as outlined in the job description. The focus of this position will be on proactive prospect identification, prospect development, pool management, and due diligence.

You will be the responsible for identification of fantastic prospects, working on innovative prospecting projects, working with fundraisers to drive prospect relationships forward, ensuring our CRM is kept up to date with prospect data, producing informative and insightful donor profiles, conducting fundraiser pool reviews; and preparing due diligence papers.

You will have a passion for philanthropy and the desire to gain a deep understanding of our donor and prospect pools, as well as the many projects undertaken at the University. You will provide accurate and appropriate information relating to potential and current donors to the University, high net worth individuals, corporations and charitable foundations worldwide.

Working with colleagues, you will play a direct role in the University’s programme of identification and analysis of potential donors, deploying and enabling systems to support the documentation and management of such potential donors and suggesting tailored strategies to reach and engage such donors.

Chief Officer

Citizens Advice Woking (CAW) provides free, independent, and confidential advice and information to the residents of Woking, and anyone who works in the Borough, particularly the most vulnerable, to help with the problems they face.  We are the only organisation locally that can and does address client issues holistically, across areas such as debt, housing and welfare benefits, not just single issues, and this is increasingly important as client problems become more complex.

We are looking for a Senior Manager who will bring both innovation and experience to lead a valued local charity.

Reporting to the Chair of the Trustee Board, the Chief Officer

• Is responsible to the Trustee Board for the management and leadership of Citizens Advice Woking,
• Represents Citizens Advice Woking to funders, partners and stakeholders,
• Ensures the delivery of a high quality, impartial and confidential service, utilising both paid staff and volunteers,
• Is responsible for the continuing funding, planning and financial management of the service,
• Represents the organisation in Woking and contributes to the overall provision of strategic advice services in the borough.

In particular, the priorities for the Chief Officer in 2026/27 will be to:

• Manage CAW’s external relationships with our funders and the Woking community generally, to ensure satisfaction with the delivery of current projects, and their continuation,
• Collaborate closely with the other Surrey LCA Chief Officers to respond to the changing funding landscape. In parallel, continue to identify and deliver local projects for local funders,
• Ensure that suitable alternative premises are secured, and the transition is managed as smoothly as possible,
• Ensure the staff and volunteers are enabled to work effectively, particularly during this period of disruption,

The Chief Officer has an important leadership role, working closely with the Operations Manager, who has line responsibility for the staff and, generally, the internal CAW operation.  The volunteers are managed on a day-to-day basis by the Advice Session Supervisors, who are critical to ensuring the quality of advice to clients, and the smooth running of the office.

The successful candidate will undertake the successful delivery of the National Lottery Heritage Fund project, the Community Development Officer will work closely with the Project Manager, Conservation Officer and the Woodland Trust Northern Ireland Team in order to achieve this. The Community Development Officer will report to the Project Manager.

• To work with all relevant stakeholders to develop appropriate programmes and activities, including youth groups, school and other educators in building heritage and biodiversity awareness and participation.
• To ensure that all programmes and activities are compliant with child welfare and safety practices. To undertake site specific Risk Assessments for all activities/events to ensure compliance in line with Health & Safety practices.
• To actively engage partners, interested organisations and local people to secure consensus, community ownership and involvement in the delivery of the project.
• Carry out data collection, surveys, research, appraisals and information gathering, producing monitoring reports as required.
• To assist the Project Manager to compile reports and claims and supporting the Conservation Officer with practical activities (recording, conservation works etc.) as required.

The Candidate: 
• You’ll have experience Delivering projects. Along with extensive experience of complex, multi-disciplinary projects bringing together a variety of skills from both within and outside the organisation to plan, monitor and deliver projects on time and to budget
• You’ll be experienced in In Environmental Education (especially woodlands and rivers), including experience of volunteer and community engagement.
• You will have experience developing and delivering training programmes (preferably including accredited training through a recognised body) directly and/or through procured providers in environmental or countryside skills
• You will have experience working with, developing and managing land management and owning partners.
• You will have previous experience in roles involving public facing communications, including for example, public consultation, media work, lobbying and event management.
• You’ll be experienced in delivering community led projects and activity plans (Heritage Fund or other) and the creation and management of volunteer groups e.g. “Friends of Groups”
• You will be qualified to HND/Degree level in environmental/heritage related, community development, volunteer management and project delivery or related field is desirable.
• A full driving licence and ability to undertake travel across a wide area. Overnight stays may be required.

About the role

As CEO, you will provide strategic, operational and inspirational leadership for Mslexia, working closely with the Board of Trustees and leading a team of talented staff.

The Chief Executive provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Sheila McKechnie Foundation, ensuring the organisation delivers meaningful impact, remains financially sustainable, and continues to be a respected voice in social change and activism.

Leading a small, committed team, the Chief Executive will set the strategic direction, secure and steward funding, and ensure effective delivery of programmes and services. They will work closely with the Board of Trustees, act as an ambassador for the Foundation, and foster strong relationships with partners, funders, and stakeholders.

This is a hands-on role suited to a versatile leader with a passion for social change and building communities, who thrives in a small charity environment.

Legacies form a key source of income for the British Heart Foundation (BHF), raising approximately £100m a year for our life‑saving research.

​

As a Legacy Manager, you will manage, protect, and optimise this income. You'll work alongside three other Legacy Managers, supporting the Head of Legacy Management to build on the team’s successes and to optimise the BHF’s income from gifts in Wills. 

​

Joining a thriving team, you’ll undertake a variety of work, including managing casework in accordance with the law, best practice, and BHF’s processes and procedures, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, providing technical guidance to colleagues and potential legacy givers, and line managing two Assistant Legacy Officers and our Legacy Administrator. 

 This role may also require deputising for the Head of Legacy Management. 

About you

You'll either have extensive experience in legacy management within the charities legacy sector; or be a Qualified Private Client Solicitor; or be a Qualified member of the Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners; or be a Qualified Chartered Legal Executive with experience of Wills and Probate.

With high levels of empathy and belief in the BHF’s work, you'll be able to develop strong relationships with colleagues and contacts. With previous line management experience, you'll demonstrate first‑class leadership skills, supported by a compelling vision and the ability to inspire others, motivate, and develop a team of staff. 

 A self‑starter with excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills, you'll bring proven experience of working within private client / legacy management. 

 With high levels of financial numeracy, previous experience in a fast‑paced environment, and excellent IT skills, you’ll also have exceptional attention to detail, strong time‑management abilities, and the capability to prioritise workload and deliver to deadlines. 

 Working arrangements  

This is a 12-month fixed term contract covering family leave. We are looking for someone to work 32 hours per week, flexibility around this working pattern or the 32 hours can be discussed. 

 This is a hybrid role, where your work will be split between your home and at least one day per week, on average, in our London Office. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

The Difference is an education charity, founded to change the story on lost learning. Our vision is to see lost learning falling nationally by 2030 and for schools to be better equipped to support all children, particularly those most vulnerable.

Leading national policy strategy

As Head of Policy you will work closely with the CEO to develop and execute a four-year influencing plan.  Together we’ll aim to shift local and national incentives on inclusion by 2030, which see the national trend of rising suspension and absence begin to fall. 

You will hold relationships with the Department for Education and Ofsted and advise on policy priorities ahead, such as:

• Widening the definition of inclusion beyond special needs, recognising the needs of those young people historically or currently interacting with social services

• Reducing perverse incentives for schools to alter their school roll through admissions and pupil exits

• Expectations for multi-academy trusts in capturing and analysing data on lost learning, including how it disproportionately affects different groups

• Improving local alternative provision eco-systems, to improve outcomes for young people

• National standards for inclusive school practice, at a universal and targeted level

• Professional development standards for school inclusion

Developing implementation expertise in the middle tier

In your first six months, you will advise on the internal development of a new programme for middle tier policy actors: multi-academy trust and local authority leaders.  You will support the Programme team in its design, to plan strategically for the recruitment of trusts and local authorities, and you will plan the research and influencing work which will seek to share their success nationally.

Building the evidence base

In your second six months, you will work with the CEO to build out our research function. Your influencing plan will include how The Difference can learn from the work across our multi-academy trust, local authority and internal AP pioneer partners over the next four years, to develop influential publications. Research work ahead will include publishing sector-facing publications of The Difference’s own research, carried out by our research lead and associates; alongside managing external contractors and internal colleagues to bid for and deliver aligned research disseminating our ideas.

Raising your voice

This is an exciting opportunity for someone committed to inclusive policy change. The Difference has always punched above our weight in national and sector press reach. In post,  you will publish blogs and comment pieces, disseminating our shared ideas.  You will be a prominent voice on inclusion.

The Role
This is an exciting time to join The Difference as we increase our impact, reach more schools, and develop our influencing strategy. As Head of Policy and Public Affairs you will: 
 

Design and execute an impactful influencing plan 

• Design an influencing plan - Identify via horizon scanning opportunities to influence national policy using open policy windows, or by nudging/creating new ones. 

• Execute an influencing plan - Utilise own assets and assets across the organisation, including the Director team, to deliver against the influencing plan.

• Relationship building - Build highly credible and impactful relationships with a variety of stakeholders who hold power. This will include policy makers in national governments, local government officials, politicians, other third sector organisations and think tanks. 

• Leadership - Play a significant role internally and externally in communicating the organisation’s policy position, raising organisational and own brand.

Build policy capacity and credibility across the organisation

• Policy positions and solutions- Use the concepts, work and experience of The Difference’s programmes to develop new, and refine existing, national policy positions to shift incentives.

Person Specification

Essential – We are looking for someone with the following knowledge, experience and skills, though you may be stronger in some areas than others:
 

• Deep expertise in education policy, particularly on the topic of lost learning and the various policy and political debates, including areas of controversy, surrounding this policy topic. 

• Strategic thinker with a proven track record in identifying policy windows and designing activities that lead to meaningful national policy change. 

• Excellent relationship builder, who brings with them their own network of influential stakeholders and has a plan for building new relationships. Adept at navigating tricky situations and explaining complex, sometimes difficult, messages.

• Expert convener with a strong knowledge of the education sector, including which schools, trusts and local authorities are influential and experience in bringing a variety of perspectives together to generate consensus. 

• Persuasive and clear writing style for publication, including reports, press, blogs and ghost writing for members of the senior leadership team, often based on consensus positions, and designed to communicate key messages for impact. 

• Confidence and credibility in communicating nuanced messages in a contentious landscape, in writing, verbally and in public (e.g. on panels), to raise the profile of The Difference. 

• Strong project manager who can design systems and processes to keep self, team and other stakeholders on task and on time. Experience of designing programmes of work and monitoring their effectiveness. Flexible project management style that can adapt to a changing environment. Confidence in managing a variety of stakeholders and supporting them to deliver on time.
