What you’ll be doing:

Operational HR Delivery

• Providing professional advice on HR policies, performance, grievance and disciplinary matters
• Keeping our HR systems and employee records accurate and up to date
• Designing and delivering key HR processes, including objective setting, pay letters and contract changes
• Managing the monthly payroll process accurately and confidently
• Supporting diversity & inclusion, wellbeing, learning and development initiatives

Partnering & Employee Relations

• Coaching and supporting managers across the business
• Supporting employee relations cases professionally and sensitively
• Building trusted relationships with teams to stay close to people priorities

Projects & Reporting

• Producing HR metrics and reports to help shape decision making
• Managing elements of our culture, change and organisational development projects
• Coordinating staff surveys and our Manager 360 Feedback programme

Recruitment & Onboarding

• Supporting the full recruitment cycle — adverts, screening, interviews and offers
• Ensuring new starters receive a warm, well-planned induction

What you’ll need:

• A confident HR practitioner with Level 3 CIPD (or equivalent experience)
• Skilled at advising managers and building strong professional relationships
• Analytical, detail-focused and comfortable working with both qualitative and quantitative data
• Ability to balance competing priorities and use your initiative

About the role

The Director of Young People, Volunteer & Business Support is a full-time employee of Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC) and reports to the Chief Executive Officer. The post holder is a member of the MSSC Senior Management Team. The post is based at the National Support Centre in London but will require some travel, mostly within the UK, in order to fulfil the responsibilities of the role. The nature of the role will also involve occasional evening and weekend work.

Strategic Partnerships Officer - Maternity Leave

About the role

What we expect from you

Working alongside the Head of Operations, CEO and department heads, your responsibilities will cover Shift.ms and its wholly owned subsidiary, realworld ms ltd, as follows:

Financial management

• Be the primary point of contact for our Treasurer, Accountant and External Auditor;

• Review and constantly improve processes and internal controls for finance;

• Lead the development of annual budgets and shorter/longer term forecasts as needed;

• Manage accounting, budget and cash flow,  and working with the CEO, develop cost reduction strategies as needed;

• Prepare monthly management accounts incorporating variance analysis of budgets vs. actuals and headline narrative;

• Manage monthly payroll with an external payroll provider;

• Draft consolidated statutory accounts for audit and lead the coordination of year-end audit;

• Prepare quarterly VAT returns for the Group and be the main point of contact for HMRC;

• Make recommendations for corporate gift aid donations based on performance and future forecasts for the subsidiary;

• Present finance updates in-person at quarterly board meetings normally held in London;

• Manage and lead FinCom meetings, typically held quarterly;

• Attend the trustee annual away weekend.

Bookkeeping 

• Lead the financial operations of the charity including recording transactions onto the finance system (Quickbooks), managing cashflow, invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, processing of purchase invoices and supplier payments;

• Complete month end reconciliations as part of the preparation of monthly management accounts;

• Track, calculate and process intercompany recharges to ensure costs sit within the correct entity;

• Track and ensure correct treatment and reporting of restricted/unrestricted funds;

• Process employee, volunteer & trustee expense claims;

• Manage the relationship with an external payroll bureau, liaising with them to ensure payroll is processed accurately and paid on time;

• Support employee onboarding including obtaining details for payroll and pre employment checks.

Other 

• Collaborate with senior stakeholders on projects and reporting; 

• Track income receipts and projections for weekly income generation calls with heads of department;

• Process gift aid claims;

• Process incentive payments for realworld ms participants;

• Renew insurances.

Qualifications, skills and abilities (E= Essential D = Desirable)

• Be part or fully qualified with a professional accounting qualification ACCA, CIMA or ACA, with at least 2-3 years post qualification experience. (E)

• Employment history in a charity/3rd sector role (D)

• Good understanding of charity reporting requirements and Charity SORP (E) especially the technical application of income recognition requirements for the charity and its subsidiary

About the FCLP

upReach is recruiting for our unique Future Charity  Leaders Programme (FCLP). This is a great opportunity for anyone who is passionate about social mobility, and looking to gain exposure to various aspects of charity management whilst working with university students who are exploring their career options. We welcome applications from those in the corporate world who are looking for a career change as well as recent graduates wanting to kick-start their career in the third sector.

upReach’s Future Charity Leaders Programme (FCLP) combines delivery work (supporting our Associates) with exposure to a range of aspects of charity management.

As a Programme Coordinator on the FCLP, you will deliver personalised, employment-focused support to a cohort of approximately 80 Associates, helping to transform their lives by equipping them with the necessary skills to secure a top graduate job. During a typical week, you should expect to be working across a range of projects including:

• 1:1 undergraduate coaching

• Events organisation

• Application support

• Partnership management (with university partners or employer partners) 

• and more!

In addition to this, the programme offers the opportunity to develop skills in key areas of charity management by participating in 3 rounds of six-month 'rotations' across different functions. After your initial 18 months and the completion of 3, six-month rotations, you will have the opportunity to undertake an apprenticeship in Leadership and Management to further develop your skills and gain a level 3 qualification.

Throughout the programme, you will receive dedicated internal training developing your leadership skills and building your confidence in the role.Through our partnership with The Circle Line, you will be part of a supportive peer group, offered regular personal development training workshops online and in-person on their '12 Tools for Life'. You will also be able to choose your own practitioner to support you in 1:1 sessions throughout the programme to help you unlock more of your unique potential.

What will I be doing?

The FCLP is a fast-paced but rewarding role. Programme Coordinators spend 80% of their time (4 days per week) working directly with Associates to enhance their career knowledge and skills and 20% (1 day per week) on a charity management rotation (or an apprenticeship after 18 months). No two days are the same, but your responsibilities may include:

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with Associates, helping them to achieve their career goals 

• Developing and delivering professional development-focused support

• Individual and small group work with Associates 

• Assisting Associates with their applications to undergraduate positions and graduate jobs 

• Developing sector and/or employability skill knowledge while building resources to aid all Associates 

• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with university and/or employer partners 

• Delivering informative workshops to enhance sector knowledge and employability skills

• Planning, delivering and reporting on events and workshops with partners

EHCVS supports and engages with 1,000+ voluntary and community organisations across Ealing and Hounslow. This role plays an important part in strengthening the resilience, sustainability, and voice of the local VCSE sector. 

The postholder will provide practical programme support, coordinate activities, assist community groups, promote volunteering, contribute to research and insight projects, and support monitoring and reporting requirements.

Are you a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment? We are recruiting for a Facilities Helpdesk Manager based in Victoria, London. This is a hybrid, fixed term role until March 2027.

More about the role

In this dynamic position, you will be the driving force behind our Estates and Facilities helpdesk. You'll coordinate both reactive works and planned preventative maintenance, ensuring requests are triaged effectively, urgent issues are resolved swiftly, and service disruptions are clearly communicated to all stakeholders.

Day-to-day, you will line-manage and empower a team of two Facilities Administrators, fostering a positive, inclusive, and values-led culture through coaching and training. You'll also act as the crucial bridge between our clinical, retail, and rehoming site teams and our external contractors. This means identifying the right technical experts for the job, deploying them effectively, and closely monitoring their performance against agreed service levels.

System management is a key component of this role. You will manage our CAFM system to log and track jobs, analyze data to identify recurring trends, and produce reports that drive better decision-making. Working closely with the Health & Safety team, your vigilance will ensure our spaces remain secure, compliant, and well-maintained while delivering excellent value for money. You will have a deep understanding of CAFM systems and how they can be used and further developed to offer a better service to our internal customers.

This is a fixed term role until March 2027. It is a hybrid role with two days a week based out of Victoria pet hospital. There will also be occasional travel to other sites.

About you:

You are a highly organized, service-oriented professional who stays calm and communicates clearly, even when juggling competing priorities or navigating urgent situations. Taking ownership of an issue and seeing it through to resolution is second nature to you. You will have a working knowledge of CAFM or similar service management systems, and know how to get the most out of them to improve our ways of working.

You are entirely comfortable diving into systems and data to spot trends, manage contractor performance, and drive continuous improvement. Building strong, professional relationships across a wide variety of teams comes easily to you, backed by a keen, proactive eye for health, safety, and compliance.

We are currently seeking a Trust Fundraising Support Officer to join our growing fundraising team. 2025 was our best year yet for income and this role is pivotal in helping us to take the next step in further growing our income.

This new role will play a key part in delivering funding from Trusts, Foundations and other funders across the UK, supporting the Senior Trust Fundraising Officer to maximise our income. You will be responsible for making small-scale grant applications, and for growing our grants portfolio through identifying new funding opportunities.

There will be a range of projects to work on, providing vital support to ensure that we are increasing the number of warm funders who regularly support the charity.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Build up a strong pipeline of prospective funders by researching trusts that align with Epilepsy Action’s vision and strategy
• Secure income from small-scale charitable trusts, foundations, and other grant makers to meet individual and team targets
• Ensure timely thanking, updates and reporting for all grants and donations from our rolling programme of applications
• Use data in the CRM to analyse trends and identify opportunities

At Epilepsy Action we recognise the power of collaboration and teamwork, so our team members with hybrid contracts can expect to work a minimum of 40% at our office in Leeds. On average this is 2 days a week, normally on Mondays and Thursdays, for full-time employees. The expectation to collaborate face-to-face is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do which may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to help us create a world without limits for people with epilepsy.
