Boaz Trust relies on the generosity of trusts and foundations to provide accommodation and support for people seeking sanctuary, and to challenge and change the unjust systems that cause destitution, both locally and nationally. We are looking for a Fundraising Officer (Trusts) who can help us sustain and grow this vital income by building positive, long-term relationships with funders, delivering high quality applications and reports as needed.
The money raised through this role will support Boaz’s work with people who are facing or experiencing homelessness because of their insecure, changing or uncertain immigration status. Our work includes providing safe accommodation and person-centred support, while working towards our mission of ending destitution among people seeking sanctuary.
Day to day, you will research prospective funders, prepare persuasive applications and cases for support, and produce accurate, engaging reports showing what funders’ support has achieved. You will manage a pipeline of applications and reporting deadlines, keep our fundraising database up to date, and work closely with colleagues across Boaz to best communicate the stories, outcomes, and impact from our work. You will communicate directly with existing and potential funders by email, telephone and, where appropriate, in meetings.
We are looking for someone who enjoys building interpersonal relationships with both funders and supporters and team-mates, is skilled at communicating through writing, can turn detailed information into a clear and compelling case for support, and is organised enough to manage several deadlines at once. You will already have experience of trusts fundraising or bid writing. Scope Of The Role
You will manage and successfully deliver key events including the London Marathon, Great North Run and London Landmarks Half Marathon, as well as community-centred third party and DIY challenge fundraising. You’ll lead on supporter recruitment and stewardship to meet or exceed agreed targets, while keeping budgets, income and performance on track and maintain accurate supporter data. You’ll also support on the delivery of Community and Virtual challenge fundraising, including our flagship challenge Walk in Her Name.
1)Support planning and delivery of the Events programme
i) Support recruitment, engagement and retention across our event portfolio including London Marathon, Great North Run, London Landmarks as well as third party and DIY challenges to meet or exceed agreed income and engagement targets, while keeping budgets, income and performance on track.
ii) Responsible for the OCA London Marathon team from sign-up to post-race including delivery of training and fundraising support, on the day cheer point and post-race celebration activities.
iii) Attend events as required.
iv) Support the team Manager to plan and deliver virtual challenges, including our flagship event, Walk in Her Name and Walk 100, working collaboratively across the team to maximise supporter experience and campaign performance.

Additional details
Salary: Between £32,000 to £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Community Action Nepal (CAN) was established 25 years ago by the world-renowned mountaineer Doug Scott CBE, to raise the living standards of remote mountain communities in Nepal. In this time CAN, working predominantly with our implementation partner in Nepal, has built 17 schools, 19 health posts and three Porter Rescue Shelters and delivered a wide range of livelihoods, agriculture and cultural programmes, improving the lives of many thousands of people in rural Nepal.
