About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity for Advocates to join and shape this service covering Inverclyde Your role will require you to travel to locations such as clients’ homes, hospitals, care homes and within community settings across the area to meet with clients and professionals. You will be home based for administration; therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential.

How are staff supported to work remotely?  

VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.  

When you need to travel for work, expenses will be paid (mileage or public transport costs).

We’re looking for an experienced Programme Officer to join our team on a maternity cover contract. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in the delivery of our In2STEM Programme during a busy and high impact period. You’ll benefit from a comprehensive handover, a supportive team environment, and the chance to make a real contribution from day one.

The Programme Officer will support the delivery of the In2STEM Programme including recruitment, planning, delivery, participant and volunteer management, and evaluation.

You will be responsible for recruitment, managing a caseload of students and volunteers (work experience hosts), and managing relationships with supporters and funders. You will also support the planning, delivery and evaluation of programme activities including training and inductions, placements, online workshops, competitions and celebration events.

In2scienceUK is a remote based organisation, that requires occasional travel across the UK for recruitment, events, internal & external meetings and staff co-working days.

Duties and responsibilities:

Programme Delivery

• Managing a caseload of students and volunteers (work experience hosts) from application stage to successful completion of the programme, including recruitment, matching, onboarding, troubleshooting throughout the programme and evaluation.

• Creating and developing engaging communication materials about the programme including video presentations, posters/flyers, case studies and website text, newsletters and images. 

• Monitoring student and volunteer (work experience host) applications to ensure targets and milestones are met. 

• Maintaining up to date records via the programme database and ensuring data protection. 

• Managing relationships with existing donors and supporters and networking to develop new relationships with prospective donors and supporters.

• Organising online skills workshops and careers panels, recruiting and coordinating volunteer speakers and panellists. 

• Planning and delivering in-person student inductions and celebration events.

Evaluation 

• Evaluating programme activities, using student and volunteer evaluation data and staff insights.

The Community and Events Fundraiser will join the Income Generation Team and work alongside the Head of Income Generation and Corporate Partnership Lead. Overview of the role

Event marketing

A key responsibility of the Marketing Coordinator will be to promote our programme of community-led events at the Centre – an exciting mix of meetups and socials, wellbeing sessions, healthcare drop-ins, arts and crafts, sports classes and a wide range of workshops.

It will be the responsibility of the Marketing Coordinator to work closely with our Events and Outreach Lead and event facilitators to ensure all events are marketed appropriately, ensuring accuracy and maximum visibility.

Community customer service

As a community centre, we work very closely with multiple LGBTQ+ communities and individuals, operating as a key resource and signposting hub for the community. As part of this role, you will be responsible for managing our digital enquiries both on email and social media. 

Digital content and social media

As the Marketing Coordinator you will be responsible for the management of all event marketing, including on social media and Eventbrite, creating our weekly newsletter and designing social media assets and content to advertise events. 

Alongside this you will manage event queries from the community and work closely with our Events and Outreach Lead on ticketing and scheduling.

As we continue to evolve, we’re looking into the future of the Centre and how we can reach even more LGBTQ+ people across London. Therefore, this is a crucial role to market the Centre – so people know we’re here! – and to tell the stories of the community who use the space.

About you

We are looking for someone with experience in legacy and/or in-memory fundraising, or transferrable skills within the charity or commercial sector.

You will bring excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally. You will be highly organised and detail oriented and be able to manage a varied workload, balancing multiple deadlines and competing demands with a flexible and proactive approach.

Strong IT skills are essential for the role including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365, FirstClass or similar CRM and email systems.

Rydym ni’n elusen fywiog a blaengar ac rydym ni mewn cyfnod pwysig yn ein datblygiad ar hyn o bryd. Os yw ein cenhadaeth yn taro tant a’ch bod chi’n rhannu’r un nodau â ni, byddem wrth ein bodd yn clywed gennych chi.
