Lead with purpose. Inspire your community. Change lives.

Are you an experienced retail leader looking for a role where your skills make a genuine difference every day? Join St Richard’s Hospice as our Shop Manager in Malvern and turn your passion for retail into vital support for people with illnesses which cannot be cured across Worcestershire.

This is far more than managing a shop. You’ll lead a thriving retail team, inspire volunteers, create an exceptional shopping experience, and maximise income that directly funds outstanding hospice care for patients and their loved ones.

As Shop Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and develop a dedicated team of volunteers and an Assistant Shop Manager.
  • Drive sales and achieve ambitious income targets.
  • Create eye-catching window displays and inspiring shop layouts that keep customers coming back.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, donors and the local community.
  • Make commercial decisions that help maximise every donation and every sale.
  • See the direct impact your work has on the care we provide across Worcestershire.

Every item sold helps make compassionate hospice care possible—and you’ll be at the heart of making that happen.

About you

You’ll be someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and enjoys bringing out the best in others.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Strong commercial awareness with a passion for achieving sales targets.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • A creative flair for visual merchandising and attractive shop displays.
  • Great organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Retail experience is essential for the role.

Charity retail experience is desirable for the role.

What we offer

We offer a competitive salary and a wide range of benefits including;

  • Fantastic team where everyone is welcomed and empowered to give their best
  • Supportive management – keen to develop you
  • Generous annual leave (seven weeks including bank holidays)
  • Benenden Healthcare offering diagnosis, treatment, 24/7 GP and mental health advice lines, discounts etc. or Cash plan giving cash back for day to day healthcare such as optical or dental costs
  • Opportunities for flexible working

  • Fabulous subsidised on-site café
  • Company enhanced sick pay (increased entitlement with length of service)
  • Pension scheme and opportunity to continue NHS pension for clinical staff
