Could you help SoundCafe grow?
SoundCafe Leicester is a small, friendly and ambitious charity which gives people who are homeless, vulnerable or socially isolated a regular opportunity to sing, be creative, meet people and feel part of a community.
Our weekly sessions make a real difference to the people who attend. In 2024 we were honoured to receive the King’s Award for Voluntary Service.
We are now looking for a Part-Time Manager to help us build on that success.
What will you do?
Working with our trustees, volunteers and partner organisations, you will help SoundCafe to:
● manage and develop our weekly creative cafe;

● build relationships with partner organisations and funders;
● identify funding opportunities and contribute to grant applications;

● keep the trustees informed and involved
It is a varied role, with plenty of opportunity to use your existing skills and to develop new ones.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable, capable and committed to making things happen.
You will need good communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently, and experience of managing people, projects, activities or services.

Experience of the charity or voluntary sector, working with vulnerable adults, volunteer management, fundraising or grant applications would be useful, but these are desirable rather than essential.
Support to develop

This is a rewarding position combining ’hands-on’ where you are immersed in the activities, with an important managerial role in a small charity where you can see the difference your work makes.

If you think you could make a difference, we’d like to hear from you.
The post is approximately 50% in Leicester and the balance working from home, subject to operational requirements.
We think it’s important that you get a good understanding of our very special charity meet those who attend, see the range of activities, and hear our choir, so shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a Session on either the 5th or 12th October interviews will be held on the afternoon of the 12th October.

About the Charity
Our client supports vulnerable individuals and families across Bristol and South Gloucestershire, including young people who take on significant responsibilities well beyond their years. It's a small, close-knit fundraising and communications team looking to grow with the right person alongside them.
About the Role
This is a genuinely broad, hands-on role — the conduit between fundraising and communications activity. You'll be the first person to own a brand-new fundraising CRM system, and the first to build proper supporter journeys from a base of 600–800 contacts already in place. Two regular newsletters already go out to supporters and the people the charity works with — what's missing is someone to turn that reach into lasting relationships.
This October, the charity launches its first-ever integrated fundraising and communications campaign — a Christmas appeal for the young people it supports. Depending on timing, you might join in time to help run it, or join just after and inherit real campaign data to build the next one from. Either way, it's a genuine ground-floor opportunity: no legacy systems, no inherited decisions — what you build is what exists.
Key Responsibilities
About You
Desirable: individual giving, regular giving or community fundraising background; experience with Gift Aid and fundraising platforms; charity or social care sector experience.
