The generosity of individual supporters, churches and community groups enables Boaz Trust to provide accommodation and support for people seeking sanctuary, and to challenge and change the unjust systems that cause destitution, both locally and nationally. We are looking for a Fundraising Officer who will help us give supporters an excellent experience, maintain accurate fundraising records and develop opportunities for people and communities to get involved in our work. This is an exciting role which will give the right person the opportunity to work across a variety of fundraising activities and disciplines.
The relationships built and fundraising activity enabled through this role will support Boaz’s work with people who are facing or experiencing homelessness because of their insecure, changing or uncertain immigration status. Our work includes providing safe accommodation and person-centred support, while working towards our mission of ending destitution among people seeking sanctuary.
Day to day, you will provide excellent care for supporters as you process and acknowledge donations, respond to supporter enquiries and ensure that our fundraising database is functioning well and information is recorded accurately in it. You will build positive relationships with supporters, churches and community groups, arrange and deliver speaking engagements, promote sponsored events and help people find meaningful ways to raise funds for Boaz. You will work also closely with colleagues to deliver fundraising projects across the breadth of Boaz’s fundraising activity as and when these arise.
We are looking for someone who is warm, organised and attentive to detail, and who enjoys building relationships with a wide range of people. You will be confident communicating by email, telephone and in person, comfortable working with databases and financial information, and able to manage a varied workload. You will be empathetic, calm under pressure and able to communicate effectively with older people, relatives, colleagues and external agencies. Strong organisational skills, good judgement, confidentiality and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential. You should also be confident using Microsoft Office and willing to learn and make effective use of housing and workplace systems.

What does this role do?
As a Legacy Officer, you will:
- manage a caseload of pecuniary, specific, life interest, and residuary legacies, ensuring the charity receives its full entitlement and maximising value where possible,
- liaise with external stakeholders, such as executors or solicitors, handling sensitive conversations efficiently and professionally,
- review estate accounts, including the allocation of Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and Inheritance Tax (IHT), to confirm estates are correctly administered,
- represent the charity’s interests in all legacy-related correspondence, handling queries from legal professionals and the public with professionalism,
- maintain accurate records using the First Class 4 database, support with reporting, and escalate significant matters to senior legal staff as needed.

Role Purpose
The Freedom Project Co-ordinator plays a key role in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, and social exclusion to move towards greater independence, stability, and personal progression.
Working directly with Freedom trainees, volunteers, and Mustard Tree clients, you will provide person-centred support through one-to-one casework, group activities, crisis intervention, and progression planning. You will help individuals identify and achieve their goals, overcome barriers, and access opportunities in employment, training, education, housing, and wider support services.
This role is central to delivering a welcoming, trauma-informed, and strengths-based service that reflects Mustard Tree’s values. Through building positive relationships, maintaining professional standards, and working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners, you will contribute to meaningful and sustainable outcomes for the people we support.

· Deliver a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental welcome to all visitors, service users, volunteers, and Freedom trainees.
· Provide advice, guidance, and emergency support to individuals accessing Mustard Tree services, including those sleeping rough or at risk of homelessness.

· Manage an active caseload, scheduling and delivering up to 20 one-to-one support sessions each week.
· Deliver a mixture of face-to-face and telephone support sessions based on client need. Change to ‘catch-up via phone call when people don’t attend’
· Complete outcome measures, support plans, case notes, and reports accurately and within agreed timescales.
· Produce case studies and impact evidence to demonstrate progression and programme outcomes.
· Monitor client journeys, progression plans, and successful move-on outcomes.
· Carry out administrative duties associated with the role and maintain accurate records on internal systems.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
This role is based within Asylum Aid. We are looking for a practising solicitor with substantial
experience of managing a complex caseload of legal aid funded immigration and asylum cases,
including appeals before the First Tier and Upper Tribunal, and challenges against trafficking
decisions. The candidate requires experience conducting litigation . Supervisory status and
challenging issues impacting children and young people is desirable but not essential. This is a
maternity cover for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension.
