Job description

New Start, The Wythenshawe Heart and Lung Transplant Fund, supports patients and their families before, during and after heart and lung transplantation. Working alongside the world-class Cardio Thoracic Transplant Team at Wythenshawe Hospital, we fund much needed research, specialist training, and equipment.

We are a small but impactful charity, committed to making a real difference to patients and their loved ones at every stage of the transplant journey.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive, organised and compassionate Charity Co-ordinator to support the smooth day-to-day running of the Charity.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, adaptable, and confident managing a varied workload in a busy charity environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide full administrative support to the charity
  • Maintain confidential records and databases
  • Support financial administration including invoices and reconciliations
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and minutes
  • Support fundraising activities, events and donor communications
  • Ensure compliance with governance and data protection requirements
  • Maintain an active Social Media presence
  • Manage and support the Transplant Athletics Team

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous administrative experience (charity or healthcare experience desirable but not essential)
  • Is highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Has good IT skills
  • Can manage their workload independently and prioritise effectively
  • Demonstrates empathy and professionalism
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Is proactive, flexible and solutions-focused
  • Shares our commitment to transplant patients and their families
