About the role

We are excited to be recruiting for an International Advocacy Advisor to join WWF-UK at a critical moment for people and planet.

This role sits within our International Advocacy team and will help deliver WWF-UK’s strategy for effective international influencing in a changing world. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering advocacy approaches that help secure ambitious outcomes on climate, nature and people across major global forums including UN climate and biodiversity processes, the G7, G20 and other international arenas.

A particular focus of the role will be building strong partnerships across the WWF network, especially supporting partner offices in the Global South and enabling multi-country collaboration. You will also help drive work to end deforestation by 2030 through the connected lenses of food, forests and finance.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines political insight, strong influencing skills and international relationship-building with a passion for creating real-world impact.

The role is offered based on a fixed-term contract ending on 30 June 2027, but with a high possibility for contract extension.

POST OUTLINE

A rare opportunity to create and lead Individual Giving and Legacies at a pivotal point of growth within an ambitious fundraising team.  This role will define the strategy and create and deliver on establishing income streams that will be central to future success.  It requires an experienced fundraiser who thrives on building; someone who can turn ideas into action and work at pace. 

Combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery to develop programmes that deliver real impact and long-term value.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The role will lead the creation and delivery of Individual Giving and Legacies programmes, establishing two core income streams that will drive sustainable growth.  It will define strategy, build insight-led, multi-channel programmes and design supporter journeys that deepen engagement over time, from first gift to long term support and legacy giving. 

Working across the organisation the postholder will embed a strong supporter focus, ensuring that fundraising is integrated into wider engagement activity.  You will take ownership of income performance, budgets and continuous improvement through data, testing and learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the Individual Giving and Legacies strategy, covering acquisition, retention, regular giving and legacy development.
• Design and deliver integrated multi-channel campaigns to grow income and lifetime value.
• Build and optimize end-to-end supporter journeys, including pathways to legacy giving.
• Grow and develop legacy income including awareness, pipeline development and stewardship approaches.
• Use data, segmentation and insight to drive decision making, improve performance and increase retention.
• Set, manage and reforecast budgets ensuring delivery against income targets.
• Lead a test and learn approach, embedding continuous improvement across individual giving and legacy activity.
• Work collaboratively with marketing, services and wider teams to align messaging, case for support and supporter experience.
• Manage external agencies and suppliers to deliver high quality campaigns and strong return on investment.
• Ensure compliance with fundraising regulation, Gift Aid and data protection requirements.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Criteria:

• Significant experience in Individual Giving and/or Legacy fundraising with exposure to both areas.
• Proven track record of delivering income growth through campaigns or programme development.
• Experience developing and delivering multi-channel fundraising activity.
• Strong understanding of supporter journeys, retention and lifetime value including pathways to legacy giving.
• Experience using data, segmentation and insight to drive performance.

We’re looking for a dog loving fundraiser to be our expert in the growing and exciting realm of prize led fundraising, tapping into new audiences who are looking to contribute to our mission through lotteries, raffles and other prize led value exchange opportunities.

What does this role do?
As Prize Led Programme Manager, you will:

• be responsible for the smooth running of the programme, working closely with external agencies to deliver of lotteries and raffles,
• develop and grow the programme, bringing new ideas from conceptualisation to launch, ensuring we continue to innovate and grow our income through prize led activity.
• work closely with external and internal stakeholders to ensure all programmes are effective and compliant with Gambling Commission regulations,
• coach and manage the Prize Led Campaign Manager, supporting them to deliver high quality work. 

Interviews for this role are provisionally scheduled for week commencing 18th May 2026 and will take place on Teams.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need experience in prize led fundraising, specifically either lotteries or raffles, and confidence navigating Gambling Commission regulation in this area.  MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities

1. Capital Fundraising Leadership

• Develop and deliver capital fundraising strategies to support major infrastructure and service development projects.
• Create compelling cases for support aligned to organisational strategy and impact.
• Identify and secure major gifts (£25k+) to support capital appeals.
• Work closely with senior leadership and Trustees to activate networks and fundraising influence.
• Monitor and report on capital fundraising performance against agreed targets.

2. High-Net-Worth Individual (HNW) Engagement

• Develop and manage a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals and prospective major donors.
• Identify, research, and cultivate new prospects through networking, events, and relationship mapping.
• Develop bespoke engagement and stewardship plans for each donor.
• Lead face-to-face solicitations and gift negotiations.
• Deliver exceptional stewardship to maximise lifetime value and long-term engagement.

3. Corporate Fundraising & Partnerships

• Develop and implement a corporate fundraising strategy aligned to Brainkind’s mission and values.
• Secure new corporate partnerships including strategic, multi-year, and employee engagement partnerships.
• Develop sponsorship opportunities linked to capital projects, events, and services.
• Manage key account relationships and ensure high-quality reporting and impact demonstration.
• Explore cause-related marketing and CSR partnership opportunities.

4. Strategy & Collaboration

• Contribute to the overall fundraising strategy and annual income planning.
• Collaborate with communications and service teams to develop impactful donor materials.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and pipeline management using CRM systems.
• Maintain compliance with fundraising regulation and best practice
• To undertake any other duties as may from time to time be specified by Brainkind that is within the level and responsibility appropriate to the grade of post.

 ABOUT YOU:

• Strong understanding of major gift fundraising techniques and donor cultivation cycles.
• Financial literacy and ability to develop and manage budgets and forecasts.
• Competence in CRM systems and pipeline management.
• Significant experience in major donor fundraising and/or capital appeals.
• Experience managing high-value donor relationships and corporate partnerships.
• Experience developing fundraising strategies and delivering against income targets.

• Experience in charity or not-for-profit fundraising
