In addition, the role of Employability Advisor will require working across other contracts which could include money management and housing support, in order to help individuals become more independent.
Role overview:This position upholds our mission values by offering participants ‘A Hand Up’ and focuses on reducing or eliminating barriers related to employability, financial issues, housing, relationships, well-being, social inclusion, and digital literacy. The goal is to promote awareness and foster growth and understanding of those needs within the wider community. The role is essential in identifying, nurturing, and securing suitable job opportunities for unemployed individuals within the local community, aligning with The Salvation Army’s 'work for all' ethos.
About you: If you are self-motivated, passionate about supporting people to overcome their barriers, thrive in team environments and possess a proactive, solution- focused mindset then we want to hear from you. You will need to be able to source your own referrals by building networks in your local community including other Charities, Jobcentres and community venues. You will be happy to get stuck in delivering employability support that is tailored to each individual. You will have experience working on employability programmes which demonstrate your ability to offer a wide range of solutions to people in need of our help.

About the role
We are seeking a Rural Housing Enabler to join our friendly team and help tackle the rural housing challenges in Suffolk.
In this role, you will:
- Play a crucial part in increasing the supply of affordable housing in Suffolk
- Engage with communities and provide a range of support including:
- Raising awareness of the need for affordable housing
- Facilitating initial discussions to assess need
- Gather evidence of need around rural housing
- Liaise and engage with stakeholders
- Assist parishes throughout the journey of developing their own local housing schemes
In this role, clear communication is essential. You’ll be presenting to a range of audiences, and working in partnership with communities / community leaders, parish councils, district and county authorities, landowners, developers, housing organisations, and other partners to bring forward affordable rural housing projects in Suffolk. Good IT skills, and the ability to build strong relationships are crucial.
Although this role is predominately desk space there will be some travel around the county and within rural areas of Suffolk. Access to a car is advantageous.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience/skills:
- Excellent working knowledge of the issues affecting housing in Suffolk, and other issues affecting rural communities
- Experience/ understanding of working in supporting rural communities thorough consultation for affordable and/or community led housing
- A good understanding of the principles of quality community consultation
- Working with local authorities, parish councils, housing associations and similar organisations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

This is a unique opportunity to lead an innovative, multi-disciplinary service that sits at the intersection of homelessness support and legal advice.
What you’ll do:
- Shape and lead the strategic direction of the Street Legal Service, including our GLA-funded Immigration Link Worker programme, legal advice provision, and Link Workers across London and Bristol
- Oversee day-to-day delivery, ensuring services are impactful, responsive, and centred on client needs
- Build and strengthen partnerships with local authorities, rough sleeping services, immigration advisers, and the wider migrant sector
- Drive better pathways out of homelessness for people with legal needs, influencing systems and practice across the sector
- Champion best practice, delivering training and expert advice to professionals working with people experiencing homelessness
This role is primarily based at our Head Office, with occasional travel across London and Bristol to support your team and partners.
Please note: Our Head Office is currently in Tower Hill and will relocate to Farringdon in June 2026.

About the role

About you
You will have a proven working knowledge of homelessness, housing and related issues affecting local communities. You have sound experience of managing and delivering contracts, partnerships and services along with experience of being involved in implementing and reviewing change management, whilst demonstrating excellent budgeting and financial reporting skills.
The ability to proactively develop and maintain key relationships and having impressive analytical skills to use insight and evidence to present data, manage performance and to identify and implement systems change are vital to this role, as are impressive interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

About the role
The Senior Partnerships Manager will lead and shape the expansion of the Breaking the Cycle programme at Shelter, providing strategic direction and overseeing relationships with key financial institutions including HSBC UK, Barclays, Santander UK, Nationwide Building Society, Lloyds Banking Group and NatWest Group. Community Support (PCN) Service Objectives
- To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental ill health.
