Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. For more than 40 years, we have been delivering essential health and medical care to those most affected by conflict, displacement and occupation in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) and Lebanon.

We are now responding to the largest emergency in our history. Over the last two year, tens of thousands of new supporters have joined MAP. We work to raise Palestinian voices and work to secure their rights to health and dignity.

About the role

MAP is looking for a professional institutional funding manager with vast experience in securing bilateral and multilateral grant and a track record of achieving income targets. As the Head of Institutional Funding, you will play a crucial role in leading the development and execution of MAP's institutional funding strategy. Your responsibilities will include establishing and nurturing relationships with key institutional donors such as UN agencies, FCDO, SIDA, and Irish Aid, as well as crafting compelling project proposals and ensuring compliance with all contractual and reporting requirements.

You will have extensive experience in securing grants from institutional donors, particularly in emergency response, relief, and rehabilitation projects. You will demonstrate a track record of success in developing institutional donor funding strategies and managing funded projects, along with excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Most importantly, you should share MAP's deep commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of Palestinians.

About the Role

As Fundraising Manager, you will work closely with the Director to execute and implement PILC’s fundraising strategy, with a specific focus on trusts and foundations. You’ll be an experienced fundraiser with demonstrable experience in securing significant income from trusts and foundations.

Location: Cambridge Health, London (E2) / Hybrid working - two days per week in the office

Hours: 35 hours per week (full-time), or part-time (4 days per week) with core hours of 10am–4pm.

Salary: £40,013 per annum pending RPI-linked cost-of-living uplift (full-time)

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a strong, strategic pipeline of trust and foundation prospects aligned with organisational priorities and funding needs.
• Grow PILC’s individual donor and supporter base.
• Work closely with the Director and project teams to translate power-building and legal work into clear, compelling funding propositions.
• Manage the full grants cycle, ensuring excellent stewardship and compliance with funder requirements.
• Cultivate new relationships with trusts and foundations and steward relationships with existing funders.
• Secure significant income from trusts and foundations, including multi-year and six-figure grants.
• Ensure all fundraising activity complies with PILC’s Ethical Fundraising Policy and relevant regulations.

• Collaborate with marketing, communications and operations colleagues to deliver creative, co-branded campaigns and impactful partnerships.

To be successful, you must have experience:

• Proven track record in securing five and six-figure corporate partnerships or comparable business development success.
• Experience writing and designing compelling partnership proposals and presentations.
• Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills with both corporate and philanthropic audiences.
• Ability to pitch with confidence to senior level decision makers.
• Strong collaboration skills, particularly with marketing/communications teams.
• Familiarity with CRM systems and effective pipeline reporting.
• Good understanding of the charity and corporate social responsibility landscape.

Desirable

• Previous experience in line management or mentoring.
• Experience working with major donors or high-net-worth individuals.

Salary: £42,500-£46,000

Experience and Background

You will have a minimum of three years’ experience in Community Fundraising or a similar fundraising role, with experience in leading geographically dispersed teams and driving sustainable income growth within a charity or nonprofit setting. You should have a strong track record in managing and developing staff, ideally having overseen regional or community-based officers, with the ability to motivate, coach, and support individuals to achieve fundraising goals. Experience in community fundraising is essential, including planning and delivering a portfolio of activities, nurturing supporter relationships, and ensuring volunteers receive consistent, high-quality support. The role also requires proven ability in budget management, forecasting, and meeting annual income targets.

Success in this role calls for an entrepreneurial and strategic mindset, capable of identifying new opportunities for income generation while ensuring strong return on investment. The post holder must be highly collaborative, able to work effectively with colleagues across regions to drive alignment and deliver well-coordinated campaigns. Strong organisational and project-management skills are key, enabling the manager to oversee multiple initiatives delivered on time and to a high standard. Hours of Work

Hours of work are 35 hours per week, 09:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday.

The annual salary range for the post is between £35,000 up to £42,000 per annum, depending upon experience.

Role Summary:

We are looking for a highly-skilled Philanthropy Manager to create impact through building and growing our high-value donor programme. You will effectively manage a portfolio of high-capacity individual donors and prospects, with the goal of securing five- and six-figure gifts and will proactively engage donors and prospects through strategic outreach, personalized stewardship, and compelling solicitations. Reports To: UK Fundraising Director

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and execute cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for a portfolio of approximately 130 mid-level and major donors and prospects with the capacity to make 5- and low 6-figure annual gifts (bigger gifts would fall to UK Fundraising Director)
• Effectively complete the moves management process and engage a portfolio of donors through meaningful connections including phone calls, personalized emails and mailings, face-to-face meetings, and other communications.
• Create a plan for each donor to serve as the annual engagement plan, effectively and, in a timely manner, execute that plan to retain and upgrade donors, and document all activities in Moves Management and/or Tasks in the database.
• Prepare and personalize correspondence and fundraising materials, including donor stewardship and impact reports, funding proposals, briefing memos, and acknowledgment letters as appropriate.
• Provide recommendations and assist in executing effective strategies to practice moves management and increase fundraising results.
• Assist the UK Director with developing projects that will enhance the philanthropy programme of the Development Department and support developing strategy briefs and leading preparation meetings.
• Help produce cultivation and stewardship programs for prospects and mid-level and major donors.
• Organise events for major donors and prospects.
• Complete research on major donors and prospects within data compliance requirements.
• Complete administrative tasks for the philanthropy programme.
• Other duties as appropriate for this role.

Required Education and Experience:

• 5+ years of relevant experience with exposure to major gift donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship processes preferred.
• A proven history of generating income in the £100,000’s and securing gifts of £25,000 or more.
• Demonstrated success in developing substantive donor relationships and in coordinating with senior management and program staff to execute donor engagement strategies.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with both management and donors.
• Extremely detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills.
• Able to take ownership of a process and to use problem solving skills to resolve issues.
• Able to make sound decisions based on analysis, experience, and judgment.
