Social Media Manager

• Role type: Full-time; Permanent
• Location: Godalming, UK (hybrid working pattern 2x days a week in the office)

About the role 

As our Social Media Manager, you’ll play a key role in raising Compassion in World Farming’s public profile and driving engagement with our UK campaigns. You’ll use social media to communicate our strategic objectives, inspire action, and support our mission to end factory farming by 2040.

As part of our UK Communications Team, this role blends strategy, creativity, and community engagement. You’ll work closely with campaigns, fundraising, supporter engagement, and HQ teams to deliver high‑quality, impactful social content.

As our Social Media Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

• Managing Compassion in World Farming’s UK social media channels, delivering engaging content and effective community management
• Inputting into and delivering the UK social media content, broadcast and engagement strategy
• Developing and overseeing creative social media content, including video, graphics, and live coverage from events
• Monitoring, analysing, and reporting on social media performance to inform continuous improvement
• Identifying trends, opportunities, and influencers to increase reach, relevance, and impact
• Supporting wider communications activity, including media content and campaign activations

About you

To succeed in this role, you’ll be an experienced and confident communicator with a strong understanding of social media. You’ll need to be comfortable managing multiple priorities, responding to fast‑moving opportunities, and tailoring messages for different audiences, all while staying aligned with our values and mission.

Skills and experience you’ll need to bring as our Social Media Manager:

• Previous professional experience of managing social media channels, with experience using social media management tools
• Excellent understanding of social media platforms, particularly Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
• Experience creating and editing social media content, including video
• Strong knowledge of social media KPIs, analytics, and reporting
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write compelling copy for different audiences
• Ability to work flexibly, manage competing deadlines, and remain calm under pressure
• A proactive, approachable, and collaborative working style

Communications Officer - IPNEd 

We are looking for a Communications Officer to join the IPNEd Secretariat. This role will lead our internal and external communications, including copywriting, content creation, sharing and monitoring across all our communications channels.

The International Parliamentary Network for Education (IPNEd) works to mobilise the political leadership necessary to accelerate the delivery of quality education for all.

Role Description

The IPNEd Secretariat’s role is to ensure that IPNEd members can exercise their unique functions as Members of Parliament as effectively as possible to accelerate educational progress. Timely and effective internal and external communication is central to this work.

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Communications Officer to lead the delivery of content to expand IPNEd’s reach, grow audiences, and drive meaningful engagement with MPs and our wider stakeholders. 

You will develop and implement strategies to strengthen IPNEd’s communications channels, collaborate with our partners to design and implement communication strategies, and support our global priorities.

The role also involves supporting internal communications with our parliamentary membership, including maintaining our membership database.

You will also monitor the performance of our communications efforts, identifying and testing ways to improve reach and engagement to ensure continuous improvement and impact.

We are looking for someone who can be proactive, efficient, and flexible in supporting all aspects of IPNEd's internal and external communications. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment in which you will play a central role in identifying and responding to external developments.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Content Creation

Develop written and visual content, including blog posts, newsletters, social media posts, press releases, infographics, and videos. 

Tell strategic stories that highlight the importance of education and profile the work and impact of members of parliament in accelerating educational progress.

Draft op-eds, speeches, and press releases to shape conversations and advance IPNEd’s mission.

Lead on the development and publication of regular and occasional email newsletters and general emails.

• Media Relations 

Monitor external media and use this to inform IPNEd's external communications.

Build and maintain relationships with external media and other organisations, identifying opportunities to collaborate and to pitch content.

• Digital Communications

Manage the organisation's website, including development, maintenance, and continuous improvement. 

Implement and oversee digital communications channels, including our presence on X, Bluesky, Facebook, and LinkedIn. 

Develop and produce performance data and reports for digital channels. 

Use performance data to test new approaches to communications.

• Strategic Planning & Collaboration

Contribute to and implement communications and external engagement strategies. 

Work closely with the Executive Director and Senior Policy & Advocacy Adviser to identify content and engagement opportunities. 

Represent IPNEd in meetings with Network members and external partner organisations, building strong working relationships.

• General

Maintaining systems necessary to support effective communications, including member, supporter and partner databases.

Supporting the Secretariat with research and writing.

The post-holder may be required to travel internationally.

Essential skills and experience

Proven experience in a communications role within the not-for-profit, international development, or advocacy sectors.

Strong written communication skills, with proven experience drafting press releases, articles, comment pieces, blogs and social media posts.

Proven ability to craft engaging written, visual, and multimedia content for digital platforms.

Strong understanding of social media analytics to drive up engagement and increase our online visibility. 

Familiarity with digital content tools (e.g. Adobe Suite, Canva).

Skilled in managing websites, email marketing, and content management systems (e.g. Mailchimp, Squarespace).

​Experience of working with parliamentarians or in public affairs, campaigning or advocacy work in either a paid or voluntary environment, preferably in the context of international development or education.

​Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with a wide range of people.

Salary, benefits, and other key information

IPNEd is hosted by Results UK. The line manager for this role will be IPNEd’s Senior Policy & Advocacy Adviser.

1. Starting date 

The position is available immediately, and is offered as an initial 12-month contract with the intention of being extended if funding permits.

2. Salary 

This role is graded at Results Professional Level Two with a salary of £32,785 per annum.

3. Hours of work

This is a full time role 35 hours a week. These hours will be worked as agreed with the line manager, but some flexibility may be required to meet the needs of the job. There is no paid overtime, but Results UK offers a flexitime system for all staff. 

4. Holidays 

25 days per year plus bank holidays. Holidays increase by one day per year of service to a maximum of 30 days. Holidays are earned in arrears. 

5. Notice Period and Probationary Period

This role has a one-month notice period. The employee will have a probationary period of three months, during which time the notice period is one week.

6. Location

The post is a hybrid role with the expectation that the postholder can work from Results’ office at Clarence Centre for Enterprise and Innovation, 6 St George’s Circus, London, SE1 6FE when required.

Currently, most Results UK staff are combining working from home with time in the office. 

7. Travel

Occasional International travel will be required. The post holder must be able and willing to travel to Global North and Global South countries.

8. Additional Benefits

Staff joining Results are automatically enrolled in our company pension scheme unless they choose to opt out. A legally mandated minimum employee contribution applies, and all employee contributions to the pension are matched 1:1 by Results up to a maximum of 5% of gross salary.

Staff may receive a tax-efficient loan for the purchase of a bike, through which the final price of the cycle is lower than on the market.

Staff may receive a loan for the purchase of a travel season ticket.

Head of Governance, Compliance, and Risk

About the role

Reporting in to the Director of Finance and Corporate Governance, the Head of Governance, Compliance, and Risk will ensure robust governance, compliance, and risk management across Christian Aid and its subsidiaries which enables effective decision making.

The post-holder will be the the trusted advisor and subject matter expert in corporate governance on behalf of the Board, overseeing legal and regulatory compliance, develops and implementing a comprehensive risk management framework, and leading an internal audit programme that fosters organisational learning. The role will enhance and protect Christian Aid’s reputation and financial integrity while embedding best practices in governance and compliance.

Some of the main areas of responsibility for the Head of Governance, Compliance, and Risk include:

• Support effective trustee succession planning, effective Board meetings, and support for the Governance and Nominations Committee to ensure effective Board Governance.
• Provide expert advice on legal structures for subsidiaries, including Christian Aid Ireland.
• Provide high quality briefings with suggested solutions having sought professional advice where more specialist knowledge is required
• Establish and implement a comprehensive risk management framework including registers and appetite statements to guide directorate-level risk management.
• Develop a compliance culture covering data protection, money laundering, counter-terrorism, sanctions management, fraud prevention, and misuse of funds.
• Complete all regulatory filings (Charity Commission, OSCR, Companies House, ICO) within deadlines to avoid penalties.
• Implement an agreed internal audit plan reviewed by the Audit and Risk Committee to ensure assurance over key controls.
• Evaluate key contracts to ensure compliance and provide legal advice using external panels when necessary.
• Lead a team empowering others to drive progress and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
• Define team's responsibilities and drive the team to promote the exchange of ideas and knowledge to maximise impact and achieve outstanding results.

About you

Who we are looking for:

Essential:

• Professional qualification in law, accountancy, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or corporate governance (ICSA).
• Extensive experience (5+ years) in UK Charity and corporate governance, compliance, and risk management within complex organisations.
• Demonstrable expertise in managing legislative changes and interpreting regulations.
• Advanced understanding of legal frameworks (e.g. data protection laws), regulatory requirements, risk management principles, and internal audit processes.
• Exceptional analytical skills for interpreting legislation; ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-specialist audiences; negotiation skills for resolving disputes.

The job

We're looking for a digital leader. To us, that means you’ll be able to advise clients on how to align their digital presence with their organisational goals. You’ll know what good looks like, and you’ll have the interpersonal skills to explain and convince others of your views.

Ever-curious, you’re the kind of person that is always looking for opportunities to make digital deliver for clients. You'll have an instinctive sense of what will (and won't) work on various platforms (websites, data platforms, Substacks, etc.), how they should complement each other and what it means to build an engaged online audience. 

You'll have that instinct because you've done it before: you know how to set digital/design KPIs and manage a team to meet those targets; you’ve run enough website build processes to do it in your sleep, and you know how to identify things a client should do, and explain to them why they should invest in doing them.

You’ll have a number of responsibilities from day one. You’ll take over advising our largest digital clients and be responsible for supporting them in their mission. 

You’ll be the new business lead for any strategy projects that require digital infrastructure – that means identifying what needs to change, writing those ideas into proposals, and pitching them. And you will own the digital roadmap for client content-led platforms, ensuring that the content isn’t just ‘published’ but drives audience growth.

You’ll be managing a team of developers to ensure the final product delivers on the strategic vision. While you may have a technical background, it’s worth being clear that this is not a technical role and we are not looking for exclusively technical candidates.

The challenge

Our clients work in the front line of campaigning to make the world a better place. Their websites are often the first thing funders and policymakers will check to see how legitimate or credible an organisation is. Nothing kills credibility faster than a website that loads slowly, categorises content in a way that no-one outside the organisation understands, or a site where the design is just… bad.

The challenge is that too many policy websites prioritise internal audiences over external. Rather than thinking “what does policymaker X need to see?”, the question is “what do senior management want to see on the website?” This leads to websites that are an output in themselves, rather than websites that lead to outcomes.

Your job is to ensure that all our digital workstreams avoid that trap; that they prioritise outcomes (hard to do), over simple outputs (anyone can do).

What we are looking for: 

• Someone who prizes outcomes over outputs, and knows how to adapt their approach to achieve best results. 

• Clear leadership of a digital function–in a consultancy, a nonprofit, or another relevant organisation.

• A consultative approach: you’re able to identify problems, solutions and opportunities, and convince others of your point of view.

• Commercial and revenue management experience.

• Experience managing a team, and an understanding of how to get the best out of different types of people in that team.

• An understanding of the policy landscape and know how to use digital platforms to move the needle with policymakers, media, and other stakeholders.

What the job involves

Great creative work relies on brilliant production behind the scenes. As our Film and Photography Production Officer, you’ll keep everything running smoothly, managing the logistics that support our film and photography output. From planning shoots and coordinating the finer details, to ensuring consent and documentation are accurate and up to date, you’ll play a key role in enabling high-quality work.

You’ll also maintain an organised and accessible Digital Asset Library, making it easy for the team to find and use what they need. While this isn’t a creative role, it’s central to helping our creatives deliver powerful content consistently and effectively.

In practice, this could include:

· Planning and coordinating video and photography shoots, including schedules, call sheets, travel, equipment hire and catering.

· Working closely with our Senior Film and Photography Officer and Manager to make sure production plans support the creative vision.

· Managing key production documentation such as risk assessments, contracts, permits and licensing agreements.

· Proactively identifying potential risks, scheduling challenges or resourcing gaps, and helping to find practical solutions.

What we want from you

While you don’t need to be a filmmaker or photographer, you’ll have a good understanding of how creative teams work and what they need to deliver their best work. Key Responsibilities:

1. Payment Processes & Systems Management

●Own and optimise the end-to-end payment infrastructure (banking platforms, expense management tools, Open Collective platform and accounting system integrations)

●Design, implement and monitor robust internal controls to prevent fraud, errors or unauthorised disbursements

●Streamline high-volume payment workflows while maintaining strict adherence to SCN policies

2. Bank Reconciliations & Treasury

●Ensure all client bank accounts are reconciled accurately and daily

●Investigate and resolve any variances between bank statements and the internal ledger immediately

●Track client cash positions to ensure sufficient liquidity for planned social project disbursements

3. Financial Reporting & Compliance

●Produce clear, concise financial reports for clients detailing fund movements and remaining balances

●Act as the lead contact for external audits regarding client cash and payment controls. Support the preparation of year end accounts and SCN’s external Audit as it interfaces with Client funds.

●Ensure all cash management and payment processes comply with UK Anti-Money Laundering supervision and relevant HMRC requirements

4. Operational Innovation & Client Service

●Proactively research and implement new financial technologies to enhance speed, security and transparency of client services

●Continuously evaluate existing workflows to eliminate bottlenecks and improve the client experience

●Lead the roll-out of new financial tools or system upgrades, ensuring smooth transition for internal teams and external partners

5. Leadership & Collaboration

●Line manage 1–2 members of the finance team, providing mentorship and support

●Being the point of escalation for the Finance and Delivery teams on more complex finance queries and dealing directly with our clients for financial solutions

●Contribute to finance team planning and lead on delivery of key projects

●Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders across the organisation

Skills and Experience:

Essential

• Professional accounting qualification: ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller, Head of Finance or senior audit role with a focus on cash controls and high-volume transactions
• Strong knowledge of financial governance, internal controls and compliance frameworks
• Experience in at least one of the following:

            -managing multi-currency transactions, FX impacts and global banking corridors

            -oversight of restricted funds, ensuring disbursements align with specific grant conditions and reporting requirements

            -implementing AML and KYC protocols and ensuring rigorous due diligence on all fund movements

• IT-literate and confident with leading technological change; advanced Excel skills and track record of implementing operational improvements
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — able to translate financial information clearly for non-finance stakeholders
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail, and being comfortable with shifting priorities and emerging risks
• Ability to lead, manage, and work effectively both as a member of a team and on own initiative.
• Ability to think strategically, supporting the implementation of a financial strategy and suggesting appropriate changes to SCN’s services.

Job Summary
Working alongside the Global Programs Team, the Project Manager is responsible for coordinating the planning and delivery of projects from concept through to execution. The role involves managing logistics, supporting stakeholder engagement, and ensuring initiatives are delivered on time and to a high standard. The postholder will manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, with the ability to prioritise effectively, must thrive in a fast-paced environment, and apply creative problem-solving to deliver successful events. Remote working, with the ability to attend on-site meetings in Milton Keynes (MK19) ideally once a month.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Logistics

• Manage the planning and delivery of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and achievement of key milestones.
• Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of events, from initial concept, registration, and contracting through to delivery and post-event evaluation.
• Work with the Global Programs team to ensure events are delivered on time and to a high standard.
• Accountable for overseeing end-to-end project delivery, coordinating across a wider team with defined responsibilities to ensure successful delivery within the project workstream.
• Build and manage strong stakeholder relationships, providing professional, timely support and acting as a key point of contact.
• Ensure data integrity on the information we hold.
• Provider effective reporting as needed.
• Manage and optimise delegate registration and booking systems, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and a seamless participant experience.
• Manage the logistical event delivery (remote or in-person), including setup, logistics, and real-time issue resolution, ensuring a high-quality delegate experience throughout the event.
• Coordinate complex scheduling, calendars, and travel arrangements.
• Any other task in relation to the charity’s needs.

Communication & Content

• Coordinate pre-event production, collaborating with external designers and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of all assets and documentation.
• Manage cross-functional coordination for event delivery, ensuring effective communication across stakeholders, including localisation and translation requirements for regional relevance.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely updates of all event-related content across online platforms.
• Provide administrative and practical support to event personnel in global locations as they deliver our programs.
• Follow established brand guidelines to maintain consistency in tone, messaging, and visual identity across all content.

Research, Reporting & Finance

• Ensure relevant reporting and documentation are supplied to stakeholders.
• Manage expense processing and support budget oversight, ensuring accurate tracking, forecasting, and alignment with programme objectives in collaboration with senior leadership.

Cultural Adaptation & Coordination

• Contribute to the development of our programs globally, from ideation through to delivery.
• Assist with the localisation of content to ensure materials are culturally appropriate,supporting communication with translators and stakeholders to help adapt resourcesfor different cultural contexts.
