Shine is seeking an exceptional Director of Finance, Governance & Operations to join our Senior Leadership Team and help shape the future of our national charity.
Working with the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees, you will provide strategic leadership across finance, governance and operations for Shine and its trading subsidiary, ensuring the charity remains financially sustainable, well governed and operationally resilient.
You will be a fully qualified accountant (CCAB-recognised or CIMA) who combines strategic thinking with practical delivery. You will lead financial strategy and planning and provide oversight of governance, organisational risk, people processes, operational infrastructure, information security and business continuity.
You will be supported by specialist staff and external advisers, so you do not need to be the technical specialist in every function.
You will be an excellent communicator and relationship builder, committed to diversity, equity, inclusion and Shine’s aims.
The role is full-time and based at Shine’s Peterborough office. The package includes a £60,000 FTE salary, 30 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays and discretionary paid leave between Christmas and New Year, a 6% employer pension contribution, and the chance to make a lasting difference to people affected by spina bifida and hydrocephalus.

The role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will lead APF's communications, marketing and engagement function. This structure gives you the scope to shape the whole function while delegating specialist delivery clearly.

About the role
At the RSPCA Finchley Branch, we are seeking a practical and organised Branch Manager to support the delivery and development of our local animal welfare services and the oversight of our retail operations through the line management of Shop Managers.
This is a strategic role with a hands-on focus on operational delivery, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations across animal welfare, retail operations through the line management of Shop Managers and volunteer activity. Alongside this, you will oversee day-to-day branch operations, including managing a small team of staff and volunteers, overseeing the performance of the branch’s retail activity through the line management of Shop Managers to contribute to sustainable income.
Working with the Chair and the relevant Trustee portfolio lead, including the Treasurer, to ensure financial oversight, governance and compliance and to deliver the agreed objectives, and working with veterinary partners, staff and volunteers, other RSPCA branches as well as other charities, you will ensure that services are delivered consistently, responsibly and in line with the branch’s priorities.

You will have experience of coordinating services or operations and managing both staff and volunteers, achieving results through effective line management, and bring a genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to achieving positive outcomes through well-organised and consistent delivery. The Youth Adventure Trust is a youth development charity working with vulnerable young people aged 11 to 16 years old from Somerset, Wiltshire and Swindon. Our outdoor activity based YAT Adventure Programme enables young people to challenge themselves, experience success, learn to go beyond their own expectations and grow in confidence. Through a series of residential camps and day activities they are able to build resilience, self esteem and develop social and life skills. The YAT Resilience Programme works to the same outcomes through a year long programme of monthly activities, home-based challenges and reflective practice. Our Mentoring Programme works with those young people in need of some additional individualised support at the end of our other programmes. The Trust’s Bursary Programme is open to all those young people who have completed an initial programme, in order to assist their next steps into further activities. Our aim is to make a lasting improvement to the lives of vulnerable young people. All our services are provided completely free of charge to the young people who are nominated by schools and other youth organisations to take part.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and motivated Programme Manager to support, deliver and manage our outdoor based development programmes.
Responsibilities will include:
Acting as the key point of contact to organise, deliver and oversee the programme to a group of young people, including managing and supporting activity days and residential adventures throughout the year.
Recruiting young people to the programme, working in collaboration with our referral partners including schools and other organisations, ensuring all involved have an excellent understanding, relationship and experience with the Youth Adventure Trust.
Working in partnership with the young people’s families to promote full attendance, effective participation and ensure they have all the information they require.
Carrying out direct work with young people to help support their needs and fulfil the Youth Adventure Trust’s aims.
Providing ongoing feedback to young people, parents, carers and schools.
Supporting the effective monitoring of the programme and measurement of young people’s developmental outcomes.
Working with the Mentoring Managers to select and support young people moving on to the Mentoring Programme, and promote take up of the Bursary Programme.
Ensuring the highest standards of support, safety and safeguarding across the programme and all aspects of the Youth Adventure Trust’s work.
Completing the day-to-day administration and management of the programme. This will include maintaining a database, producing written communications and reports, information leaflets, website updates, budget monitoring, booking and negotiating with providers, and an array of detailed record keeping.
Contributing to organisational planning and development, including supporting the development of further opportunities for young people.
Supporting the fundraising team through providing feedback, reports or event support.

To be up to the challenge you’ll need an excellent understanding and a proven track record of relevant experience working with vulnerable young people. Midlands Project Co-Ordinator
Base: This role is a hybrid based between home and our office in Droitwich, with regular travel required to locations across the Midlands, to support the delivery of workshops, events and engagement activity.
Due to the frequency of travel required, applicants should be based within reasonable travelling distance of the Midlands delivery areas, ideally within the West Midlands, and must have access to a vehicle.

Working closely with colleagues, delivery partners and stakeholders, you will help ensure programme activity runs smoothly and reaches those who may benefit most. The role combines project coordination with hands on delivery, including supporting workshops, events and engagement activity.

As Fearless Youth Lead for Scotland, you will lead a national programme that empowers young people to understand crime-related issues and overcome barriers to reporting crime safely and anonymously. Working with schools, communities, government partners and key stakeholders, you will drive engagement campaigns, develop meaningful partnerships and lead a small team to deliver positive outcomes for young people across Scotland.
