Fundraising Officer, Peterborough Cathedral — £32,000
Help write the next chapter for one of England's great cathedrals. No fundraising background? Bring your relationship-building skills, we'll teach you the rest.
Peterborough Cathedral is at a genuinely exciting turning point. We're delivering an ambitious Strategic Review and Masterplan, and moving fundraising away from reactive, crisis-driven appeals towards something more strategic and sustainable, built on real relationships, better systems and disciplined stewardship. This role sits right at the heart of that shift, and whoever joins us now will help shape how it's done for years to come.
You don't need to have worked in fundraising before. We're looking for someone who knows how to build trust and manage relationships, whether that's come from sales, account management, hospitality, events, customer service, education, local government or anywhere else people-focused. If you can communicate clearly, stay organised under competing priorities, and genuinely care about doing right by the people you work with, we can teach you the fundraising craft. Full training, a structured induction and regular one-to-one support from our Head of Fundraising are all part of the package.
What you'll actually be doing:
We know brilliant fundraisers come from all kinds of backgrounds, so if you don't tick every box on the person spec, we'd still love to hear from you. What matters most is your attitude, your communication skills and your willingness to learn, and a sympathy with the Cathedral's Christian ethos and values.
In return, you'll get:
If that sounds like the kind of role where your people skills could do something meaningful — get in touch.

Anti-oppressive statement
Foodrise is actively seeking to move through an anti-racist and anti-oppressive journey in every aspect of its work. We acknowledge that the environmental sector is less open to people from under-represented backgrounds, and we are strongly committed to identifying and correcting where we may be perpetuating patriarchal, white supremacist values and other forms of oppression in our organisational culture, partnerships, and community work. We especially want to hear from you if you feel that you have lived experience of power structures preventing you from accessing opportunities like this.

About Us
Foodrise is a charity transforming the food system for climate, nature and justice.
We take bold action to uncover the root causes of injustice in our food system and expose how corporate power exploits people and the planet, while building truly just and resilient alternatives from the ground-up.
We speak truth to power. We take risks. We act where and when others won’t.
From launching legal action and producing hard-hitting research to working directly with local communities, we drive systemic change across food and farming, powered by grassroots energy and backed by the facts.
We exist to say what others won’t, do what others don’t, and never settle for “it can’t be done”. Change is possible, and we are rising to make it happen.
We are based in the UK and the Netherlands. See more about us on our website.
