About the Role:

This is a position offering someone with the appropriate values and experience, the opportunity to play a pivotal role in the Finance Team, coordinating the Finance Department, ensuring that financial & payroll information is processed in accordance with HMN procedures & timescales.

As a Financial Controller you will work closely with the Senior Finance Manager to drive quality financial processes through the core of the organisation, leading on the management of the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Production of monthly management accounts to Senior Management budget holders
• Line Management of the Finance Administrators & Finance Officer
• Support with quarterly reconciliations & reports for Board
• Assisting with setting yearly budgets & projections in liaison with Senior Leadership Team & Finance Manager
• Assist budget holders in appropriate activity analysis
• Coordinating payroll processes are robust and efficient with HR
• Investigation of queries from suppliers & staff providing advice & assistance as required
• Produce ad-hoc financial/management information as required by the CEO or Senior Leaders
• To ensure financial systems guarantee clarity of requirement for grant and contract monitoring and compliance.
• Oversee all financial transactions, and sales and purchase invoices are accurately entered by the finance team into QuickBooks & ensure financial information is processed in accordance with procedure
• Awareness of UK accounting requirements and Charity SORP changes that may affect the organisation.
• The post holder will support SMT with budgets for service implementations and service development to facilitate continuous improvement and safe practice.

Join the Diocese of Leicester as our Church and Community Support Officer
Are you passionate about strengthening communities and supporting historic churches to be open for future generations? We are looking for somebody relational, empowering and adaptable to be our Church and Community Support Officer to work with our parishes and their communities, helping to build local engagement and ensure church buildings remain sustainable as a place of worship and a resource for the local community. 

This is a new fixed-term post made possible by a grant from the Church Commissioners of the Church of England through their Buildings for Mission funding.

About the Role

• Provide on-the-ground support to Parochial Church Councils (PCCs) to increase local engagement and volunteer capacity.
• Support PCCs and congregations to engage with their communities through consultation, surveys, and outreach initiatives.
• Help churches identify ways to maximise the potential of their buildings, including generating income and securing funding.
• Develop volunteering opportunities and support the creation of Friends Groups and other local initiatives.
• Build partnerships with local authorities, businesses, charities and community organisations.
• Support PCCs in exploring new models such as Festival Churches 
• Facilitate shared learning across the Diocese.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience of managing community-led projects and working with volunteers.

About this exciting opportunity

Working as part of a multi-agency team, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or being released from prison.You will undertake assessment and action planning with individual service users, create a safe and trusting environment, using trauma-informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users, plus deliver a range of interventions to service users which contribute towards achievement of prescribed outcomes.

• The ability to assess clients’ needs and provide tailored, client-led support through action planning and interventions involving advice, guidance, advocacy, and coaching

Asylum Matters plays a significant role in working towards positive change for refugees and people seeking asylum. We are a small team based around the UK, working locally and nationally with an extensive network of partners to advocate for progressive change in the asylum system. We work with frontline organisations and people with lived experience across the UK on a range of issues that affect people in the asylum system. The Yorkshire & Humber Campaigns & Policy Manager will work with the grass roots organisations and established Asylum, Refugee and Migrants rights organisations across Yorkshire and Humber, and the amazing lived experience campaigners to drive change locally. They will also provide specialist policy resource to Asylum Matters nationally, sitting across our four national campaigns around asylum justice, accommodation, asylum support and working rights. Helping us respond to government policy proposals and develop and support our sectors approach to a progressive asylum system.

We are a facilitator of collaboration and joint action. Our work helps strengthen collective advocacy on asylum reform and ensures it is informed by the reality on the ground. Working alongside the Service Manager, you will support the smooth running of the home, maintain high standards of care, safety and compliance, and act as a positive role model for the team.

The role includes leading and mentoring staff, supporting rota management and administrative tasks, contributing to audits and quality monitoring and ensuring care plans, risk assessments and records are accurate and up to date. You will promote best practice in safeguarding, support compliance with CQC and relevant legislation and help develop a skilled and confident team through training and guidance.

You will work closely with families and professionals to support people’s health, wellbeing and independence, while responding calmly and effectively in a range of situations. The role may include supporting people in the community, undertaking clinical duties once trained and assisting with transport where required.

• Experience in residential care (1+ year in a senior/supervisory role)

Main purpose of job:To work in the Navigator team supporting individuals who have or are experiencing sexual violence and or sexual abuse. As a first contact worker, you will act as a gateway to both specialist counselling and advocacy services and additional specialist support services in Essex. Salary:£26,496 - £28,845 (NJC Scales 12-17) per annum, pro-rata.

Job Description

The First Contact Navigator posts will play a central role in the CARA team, ensuring that our service users and other agencies receive a high-quality service from the moment of first contact. You will work as part of a wider team of First Contact Navigators across Essex, based at our Synergy Essex Partner centres. The post liaises with clients, the CARA team and external agencies, providing advice, support and information.

The First Contact Navigator will engage with individuals who are experiencing, or who have experienced, sexual violence and or sexual abuse who require information, signposting and short-term support.  You will be the first contact and conduct first meetings, managing your own caseload and co-ordinating personalised support for individuals on their pathway to wellbeing. You will have strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to work under minimal supervision. You will support people who use CARA services to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, maximising their independence and engaging in appropriate community or clinical resources. You will work collaboratively with service users, the CARA team and other professional agencies to navigate and coordinate services.  

At the outset, the main responsibilities of the post will be:

• To act as a first point of contact for new referrals and enquiries, providing information, emotional support, advice and signposting.
• To complete first contact calls and assessments with clients over the telephone, assessing client needs and suitabilty for services.
• To ensure information about new referrals/enquiries is accurately recorded on CARA’s database in real time.
• To work collaboratively and build trust with service users, agencies, personal and professional support networks to collate relevant information to effect individualised support requirements.
• To assess and engage service users not currently engaged in appropriate specialist sexual violence services.
• To seek and respond to referrals from a variety of internal and external sources.
• To assist survivors and relatives/supporters of survivors in understanding the range of resources and services available to them.
• To support service users to engage effectively with appropriate services to meet their individual needs and aspirations.

• To work as a link between clients, CARA staff and external agencies, ensuring appropriate information is passed on.

• To cover the enquiry line and the office phone and deal with enquiries as required.
• To pro-actively promote CARA’s services to external agencies, ensuring they are aware of our referral procedures.

• To attend regular team meetings and to work with colleagues to further the objectives of CARA.

• To report to the Service Engagement Manager, Head of Operations, CEO and Trustees as required, including the production of regular written reports.
