Based at Charnwood Borough Council, an opportunity has arisen to be part of the Refugee Resettlement Scheme welcoming and supporting refugees across Leicestershire and Rutland.

The Refugee Resettlement Assistant will be responsible for the administrative service for the Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme and the UK Resettlement Scheme. They will support with the co-ordination of arrivals across Leicestershire and Rutland and delivery of an effective and appropriate service to all service users, fairly and without discrimination.

You will have at least 4 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity and with excellent written and spoken English and an ability to produce high-quality content at speed and to a deadline. We are looking for the right motivation, skills and aptitudes more than academic qualifications.  Please note that this role is not a foot in the door for those who want to pursue a career in peacemaking.

The Role 

We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised Operations Coordinator to support the smooth running of the organisation. 

This is a varied role at the heart of a small charity, spanning governance, HR, finance and operations. You’ll work closely with the Head of Operations & Strategy and support colleagues across the organisation to ensure systems, processes and compliance run effectively. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Support board and governance processes, including meetings and record-keeping 

• Provide HR and finance administration, including recruitment coordination and invoice/expense processing 

• Help manage day-to-day operations, including office coordination, IT and suppliers 

• Act as Health & Safety Coordinator 

• Support data processes alongside the Data Manager 

• Contribute to cross-team projects and general organisational support 

About You 

• Experience in an administrative or operations role (charity or small organisation desirable) 

• Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities 

• Proactive, reliable and collaborative 

• Strong communication skills and discretion with confidential information 

• Comfortable working across a broad and varied remit 

Experience in HR, finance, governance or CRM systems is helpful but not essential.

You will also lead on our Legacy marketing and provide support to those who enquire about legacy giving, help to steward legacy pledgers and assist with internal and external legacy marketing.
