As a Trainee Project Worker/Young Person's Worker, you will be based within a project team, working directly with clients or young people to build trust, create safety and support meaningful progress. You will help people settle into the service, engage with support, develop practical life skills, manage day-to-day challenges and take steps towards greater independence. Whether you are supporting adults or young people, you will play an important role in creating a consistent, encouraging environment where people feel listened to, respected and able to move forward.

As a Trainee Floating Support Worker, you will travel across London to meet clients in their homes and communities, tackling housing issues, supporting health and wellbeing, and helping them achieve personal goals. The work is varied, fast-paced and deeply rewarding, with every shift – whether early mornings, late evenings, weekends or bank holidays – bringing the chance to see real change happen.

In return, you will be part of a comprehensive and engaging Trainee Programme, with support around you from day one. You will learn through trainee-specific workshops, formal training, reflective practice, service visits and hands-on experience alongside knowledgeable colleagues across SHP. Over the course of the traineeship, which usually runs for up to 9 months with the possibility of fast-track at 6 months, you will build skills in areas such as housing, benefits, mental health, safeguarding and recovery-focused support. As your confidence and practice grows, your salary will increase at six and nine months, recognising your development and achievements as you build a meaningful career helping people move from homelessness and crisis towards safety, stability and independence.

We are looking for a Programmes and Finance Officer to play a key role in supporting the financial management and oversight of DEC appeals. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills and a passion for humanitarian work to contribute to DEC funded emergency responses.

You will provide financial analysis, ensure compliance with policies, and produce high-quality reporting to support decision-making and accountability to stakeholders. Ideally, you should be detail-oriented, have excellent financial skills and have an appetite to learn & shape individual and team efficiencies. You must be able to communicate confidently across diverse groups and be genuinely interested in the humanitarian sector.

About You

 We’re looking for someone who combines financial expertise with strong analytical skills and a commitment to humanitarian work. You must be experienced in analysing financial data, budgets and reports and have strong Excel and data analysis/visualisation skills (e.g. Tableau, Power BI desirable). You should have excellent attention to detail and an ability to present complex information clearly.

You should demonstrate strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. Ideally, you should have interest or have experience in the humanitarian or international NGO sector.

Key responsibilities:

· Develop tools to collect and analyse financial and operational data from member charities.

· Support the development of appeal documentation and reporting templates.

· Help produce data analysis and insights for appeal launches.

· Review budgets and financial reports from member charities.

· Aggregate and analyse financial data, identifying trends and variances.

· Ensure compliance with DEC policies and financial standards.

· Act as a key contact for finance and compliance queries.

· Prepare funding agreements and financial reports for stakeholders.

· Support reporting to institutional donors and external bodies.

· Chair and coordinate finance and compliance working groups.

· Support improvements to systems, processes and the DEC Operations Manual.

1. Proactively engage bereaved families with the support service, respond to bereavement support enquiries and ensure anyone seeking advice and support on bereavement is given a high-quality service in a timely way.

•To be the primary contact for the bereavement support digital services including WhatsApp, text, webchat and other social media channels.

•Ensure any messages on Bereavement Support Facebook Groups are monitored and advice is given via befrienders where appropriate.

•Work with Income and Engagement Team around social media bereavement support content/posts.

2. Deliver and run live bereavement themed sessions on social media
•Run monthly live sessions on social media on bereavement topics/themes, responding to comments and messages during and after the sessions, ensuring anyone seeking ongoing support is responded to and referred to relevant services.
•Work with the Engagement Team to promote live sessions.
•Facilitate monthly remembrance sessions.

3. Ensure the bereavement support services are promoted to those bereaved and to professionals working with bereaved families
•Assist with the recruitment and facilitation of Bereaved Families’ Panel.
•Keep up to date with the bereavement support world including joining National Bereavement Alliance, Child Bereavement Network and research around grief and bereavement.
•Attend events as required to represent the Lullaby Trust’s bereavement support services.

4. Maintain accurate records throughout all services, complying with the organisation’s recording and reporting requirements
•Maintain ongoing knowledge and training on the Lullaby Trust’s advice and the scientific knowledge behind this advice.
•Collate statistics, as required on areas of work within the support services team.
•Assist with the services’ evaluation and impact processes.
•Provide other administrative support to the team as required.

Job Title:  Commercial Partnership Manager

Location(s): Home-based with attendance at AdviceUK office in London and at meetings as required.

Pay range:  £42,000 to £47,000 full time equivalent. £33,600 to £37,600 actual salary, dependant on experience. 

Working hours: 28 hours per week within normal operating hours (35 hours full time equivalent). Normal operating hours are 8.00am - 6.30pm, Monday – Friday. Lunch and other breaks are unpaid. 

Special conditions: Some evening and weekend work may be required for which time off in lieu (TOIL) will be granted. Some travel will be required which may entail some overnight stays.

JOB PURPOSE 

The postholder is responsible for securing, managing, and growing commercial partnerships with organisations that support AdviceUK’s mission, values and strategic priorities. These partnerships should significantly increase AdviceUK’s commercial income, extend AdviceUK’s reach, and achieve measurable social impact. The postholder will ensure that commercial partnerships both comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements and contribute positively to AdviceUK’s reputation and influence. 

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

1. Partnership development 

• Identify, research, and secure new commercial and corporate partnership opportunities aligned with AdviceUK’s strategic and income generation priorities. 

• Develop compelling partnership propositions, including sponsorships, strategic alliances, product/service developments, cause‑related marketing, corporate social responsibility, and other commercial collaborations. 

• Identify and develop new products and services that benefit members, grow income, and support member recruitment and retention. 

• Shape new products and services with user and sector insight, applying structured approaches to testing, evaluation and scaling. Ensure that pricing, return on investment and other financial modelling is completed to demonstrate how new products or services deliver agreed objectives. 

• Bring external market insight into AdviceUK’s strategic planning and decision making, ensuring that commercial partnership propositions are clearly differentiated in the markets they are targeting. 

• Work with the Head of Membership and Services, other colleagues at AdviceUK, and AdviceUK’s existing commercial partners to develop a commercial partnership strategy, business plan and pipeline. 

• Lead negotiations and contract discussions in partnership with the Head of Membership and Services, Finance and where relevant, AdviceUK commercial partners and subsidiaries. 

• Ensure all partnerships align with the charity’s mission, values and ethical standards.  

• Carry out appropriate due diligence and risk assessments on commercial partners

2. Partnership management and growth 

• Act as the primary relationship manager for AdviceUK’s current commercial partners and subsidiaries to ensure they feel valued, informed, and engaged throughout the partnership lifecycle. 

• Maximise the value of established partnerships through renewals, extensions, upselling opportunities, and agreed new income generation activity. Support cross‑team collaboration and knowledge sharing. 

• Identify opportunities for innovation and growth within AdviceUK’s commercial partnerships portfolio. 

• Support the communication of impact to partners, including reporting on outcomes enabled by their support. 

• Represent AdviceUK at events, conferences and networks relevant to the commercial partnerships portfolio.

3. Income generation and performance 

• Ensure all partnerships deliver against agreed financial and non‑financial objectives. Contribute to departmental budgeting and forecasting. 

• Monitor partnership performance and provide accurate reporting on partnership income, engagement, and impact. 

• Contribute to the ongoing review of existing commercial partnerships and service level agreements, making recommendations for change as required. 

• Share learning, insight, and good practice to continually improve commercial partnership approaches.  

• Ensure compliance with Charity Commission and Companies House guidance, relevant fundraising regulations, and internal governance policies.  

• Work closely with AdviceUK colleagues to deliver integrated partnership activities.  

4. Data and evidence

• Support the delivery of performance reports as required to evidence the extent to which commercial partnerships are achieving required KPIs. 

• Work with colleagues to ensure that partnership datasets are accurate, timely and support decision making. 

• Ensure any partnership activity that requires data sharing adheres to data protection and cybersecurity requirements. 

5. General responsibilities

• Ensure you effectively communicate AdviceUK’s vision, mission and objectives to staff, members and external stakeholders. 
• Ensure you demonstrate AdviceUK’s values and behaviours in all aspects of your work. 
• Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders including staff, trustees, members, partners and suppliers. 
• With support from your manager, deliver your agreed personal objectives and undertake any agreed development or training. 
• Maintain a strong understanding of our members and the advice sector more generally, by reading internal reports; accessing relevant data reports; following our social media channels; and, where possible, attending member and other relevant events. With the agreement of your line manager, ensure you make time to speak to members and visit their services. 
• Adhere at all times to AdviceUK’s policies and procedures. 
• Carry out any reasonable duties compatible with the post assigned by the Head of Membership and Services.

Summary Purpose - what you will be achieving:

The Policy Directorate brings together the Academy’s policy, analysis and external affairs functions to address major science and health policy issues in the UK and internationally. The Directorate works as a single, coordinated team, focusing resources on priority areas, applying strategic approaches, generating high‑quality evidence and insights, and engaging effectively with government, stakeholders and partners to inform decision‑making and influence policy.

You will work in the Academy’s new Analysis Function, which ensures that policy development, external engagement, and rapid response work are consistently underpinned by high‑quality analytical insight. Reporting to the Head of Policy Analysis, you will lead activities in a team that spans qualitative and quantitative methods, evidence synthesis, horizon scanning, policy modelling and evaluation.

You will work within the Policy Directorate (including the Policy Development and External Affairs functions) to improve the quality and impact of policy recommendations, and ensure decision-makers can rely on timely, trusted analysis.

About the role - what you will be doing:

1. Provide expert advice and guidance in support of policy analysis

• Work with the Head of Policy Analysis to develop the Analysis Function’s strategy, operating model, standards, governance and ways of working.
• Work with Policy Managers to agree strategies for evidence gathering in support of policy priorities.
• Advise on risks, uncertainties, and the implications of emerging scientific and technological trends as they pertain to the conduct of medical sciences and the health service.

2. Lead the Policy Directorate’s ‘rapid response’ function

• Lead the process of developing rapid responses to emerging policy opportunities.
• Oversee horizon scanning activities to ensure opportunities for rapid response are identified and planned for at early stages.
• Work with the Policy Directorate to agree, manage and quality assure rapid response projects.
• Where rapid response work has been commissioned by external organisations (e.g. government, arm’s length bodies), ensure their project needs are defined and addressed.
• Ensure rapid response outputs are underpinned by high‑quality analysis.

3. Project manage analytical activities

• Lead the Academy’s policy analysis projects, determining the best methodological approaches to gathering evidence that will inform policy development and external affairs.
• Manage the design and delivery of evidence syntheses, horizon scanning, modelling, impact assessments, stakeholder insight analysis, and evaluation.
• Lead colleagues in the Analysis Function to coordinate project planning and evidence-gathering activities.
• Support the Analysis Function with commissioning external analysis where appropriate.
• Regularly report on project progress, risks and issues to the Head of Policy Analysis.

4. Build analytical partnerships and external credibility

• Engage with analytical teams across government (e.g., DHSC, NHS England, UKRI, ONS), the charity sector, research funders and national academies.
• Engage with academic experts, methodologists, research networks and data holders to strengthen analytical depth.
• Represent the Academy in analytical or evidence‑focused fora.
• Work with the External Affairs team to support external activities.

Requirements

Essential

• Extensive experience working in analytical or evidence functions. 
• Expertise in a range of analytical methods, such as: evidence synthesis, horizon scanning, behavioural insights, data analysis, evaluation, modelling, or forecasting. 
• Experience in ensuring analytical quality assurance and establishing or applying analytical standards.
• Proven ability to engage with and communicate complex analytical findings clearly for non‑technical system partners, including government and sector representatives. 
• Experience with working at pace and managing a range of projects.
• Good understanding of the UK science, research and health policy landscape and how evidence informs decision-making. 

Desirable

• Previous work in a science, health, research or public policy environment (e.g., government, national academy, think tank, research funder). 
• Experience with managing budgets and commissioning research.

You will position the Academy as an authoritative voice on medical science and health, and ensure that our external engagement is strategic, aligns with the wider organisation’s approach to stakeholder management, and strengthens our influence.

• Lead and integrate policy engagement and relationships to deliver a coherent external affairs strategy.

• Position the Academy as an authoritative voice on medical science, policy priorities and the wider health system.
• Build and sustain high-level influencing relationships across parliament and political parties, national bodies, arm’s-length agencies, health systems and sector leaders.

FORUM and commercial

• Oversee and evolve the Academy’s FORUM to align with policy priorities and maximise its impact as a neutral, cross-sector convening space exploring scientific innovation, technological trends and strategic priorities shaping UK healthcare.
• Lead the transformation of FORUM into a leading UK convenor, including membership growth, securing contributions from organisations, and delivering at least six high-quality convenings per year.
• Contribute to income-generating initiatives within approved budgets and ensure external-facing activities support organisational sustainability.

Leadership within the organisation

• As a member of the Academy Leadership Team (Heads and Directors), contribute to organisational strategy, cultural development and the transformation programme.
• Provide senior leadership on organisational measurement, impact reporting and securing external funding.

Financial and governance responsibilities

• Oversee budgets associated with external affairs and related programmes.
• Ensure compliance with governance processes, financial controls and risk management.

Requirements

• Strong track record in public affairs, political strategy or policy influencing, with demonstrable success securing policy adoption and measurable outcomes.
• Experience leading communications, media or public-facing activity in a complex environment.
• Understanding of the UK science, research and public health landscape, including inequalities, national strategies and institutional dynamics.
• Proven experience managing teams, building capability and integrating multidisciplinary functions.

Antenatal Family Support Coordinator

Location: Stroud & Gloucester /Hybrid (covering office, family hubs and community sessions)

The Role

You will deliver the core support offer, including home visiting, 1:1 support, group work and volunteer-supported family support. You will also lead delivery of the Bump antenatal programme, helping expectant parents prepare for birth, early parenthood and the transition to family life.

In this role, you will:

• Support families during pregnancy, early parenthood and the early years
• Provide practical, emotional and educational support to expectant parents
• Help parents prepare for birth, baby care and the transition to parenthood
• Support early attachment, bonding, infant development and parental confidence
• Manage a caseload of families with different levels of need
• Work with and support trained Home-Start volunteers
• Help colleagues with pregnancy-related queries and appropriate signposting
• Support inclusive engagement with mothers, fathers, partners and co-parents
• Work with local services, family hubs and community partners

This is a non-clinical role. You will not be providing medical advice or clinical care, but you will use your knowledge and experience to support parents, strengthen early family relationships, and help the team respond confidently to pregnancy-related needs.

About You

We are looking for someone who understands pregnancy, birth preparation, early parenthood and the emotional realities of becoming a parent.

You may have worked as a midwife, maternity support worker, antenatal educator, early year’s practitioner, family support worker, health-related practitioner, or in another relevant role supporting families during pregnancy and the early years.

You will bring:

• Experience or strong knowledge of antenatal support, pregnancy and early parenthood
• Confidence delivering group sessions or antenatal education
• Good understanding of early attachment, infant development and postnatal adjustment
• Awareness of perinatal mental health and the impact of trauma, stress and isolation
• Experience supporting families during pregnancy, birth preparation or early parenthood
• Experience delivering group-based support, education or facilitation
• Good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries

This is a non-clinical family support role. You will not provide medical advice, diagnosis, clinical maternity care or infant feeding clinical support. Where families need specialist health, maternity, mental health or safeguarding support, the postholder will follow procedures and signpost or escalate appropriately.

About the Organisation

Join a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families with at least one child under five years of age. Trained home-visiting volunteers offer regular friendship, emotional, and practical support to help families experiencing a challenging time in their lives. The service is unique and also offers free support peer groups, antenatal, postnatal, and perinatal mental health services.

Working closely with prisons and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will support with the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme in the area, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

You will have experience working within prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships quickly and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. You will also have a willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice, to provide short or long term cover within the prisons in this area.

This role will be prison-based. This is a bank role and so the number of days to be worked will vary and are not guaranteed. The Organisation

Action on Disability (AoD), founded in 1979, is one of London’s leading Deaf and Disabled People’s Organisations. AoD’s Independent Living Service

The Independent Living Service (Direct Payments) is a new service that will provide support to Direct Payment users within the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. The service will enable disabled people to have genuine choice and control over the way in which they lead their lives.The post-holder will be working alongside disabled people to enable them to have more choice and control over their care and support needs.

Purpose of Post

To work with individuals, their family and friends (where appropriate) to provide them with information, advice and assistance to enable them to access and manage a Direct Payment

(DP) and recruit and manage a Personal Assistant (PA).

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Support to individuals employing their own Personal (care) Assistant (PA) or engage an agency to deliver care and support.

1. Provide information and advice on becoming an employer and the role of the Personal Assistant.

2. Ensure that the client understands their legal obligations and responsibilities of being an employer.

3. Work with clients to: set up a profile on the Find-a-pa website, advertise and recruit a Personal Assistant, create a personalised job description and specification identify the level of experience and training requirements needed for the role.

4. Advise and help to calculate the PA’s salary and on costs (full training provided).

5. Support the client through the interview process and where necessary sit in during interviews.

6. Support individuals to reference, check legal status and where necessary DBS their support worker.

7. Support individuals to set up an induction plan for their PA and enable them to identify training needs.

8. Support the client to complete payroll and insurance documentation.

9. Work with the client to draw up a Statement of Particular (contract) for the employed PA (templates provided).

10.  Encourage DP employers to take a lead in all employment issues. Information on where to seek advice e.g. ACAS, Fish and Premier Care helpline will be given and clients will be encouraged to use them.

11.  Ensure that the individual has a back-up plan for emergencies.

12.  Encourage DP employers to be assertive and proactive with their Personal Assistants.

13.  Work with agencies to set up support for clients who may not wish to employ a PA directly.

Ongoing support to individuals in receipt of Direct Payments

1.Providing advice on employment issues.

2. Support individuals to solve practical problems e.g. lateness of staff, change of needs.

3. Support individuals to recruit again if necessary.

4. Assist individuals to re-look at budgets, training and job descriptions as they change over time.

5. Assist individuals to ensure that they continue to manage their Direct Payment or budget.

6. Support individuals to make informed choices.

7. Meet with the DP Support Group on a regular basis.

8. Assist in the development of training and other resources to support employers to manage their DP and their PA relationships.

9. Develop links and professional relationships with Social Work teams to support a healthy level of referrals.

About the Service

Community Outreach Workers support people with complex needs who have Housing issues as a primary need. This includes people who may have drug and alcohol difficulties. Particularly when they are coming into repeat contact with Police, Tenancy Sustainment Services, Housing and Homelessness Services and Environmental Health Services.

The five-day post will be delivered in West Hertfordshire. With the flexibility to travel Hertfordshire County.

The purpose of the Hertfordshire Mind Network Community Outreach Worker role is to:

• Provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients with coexisting drug and alcohol difficulties and mental ill-health. These will be clients who are presenting to the Police, Anti-Social Behaviour, Tenancy Enforcement, Housing and Environmental Health Services within Hertfordshire.
• Ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
• Remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• Embed a person centred and solution focused approach in all aspects of the role.
• Raise greater awareness of complex needs and the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) amongst local service providers. Supporting them to gain confidence in working positively and consistently with people who have multiple needs.
