We are working in partnership with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust to deliver integrated support within the Trust’s Community Mental Health Teams. This post sits within the Care Team Approach, an integrated team providing support to people living with psychosis, helping them develop their independence, self-management skills and achieve their recovery goals.

We are recruiting a Senior Mental Health Advisor to work within this fast paced and innovative service. You will have the caseload management experience and skills to deliver focused, person-centred, individual support and IAG (Information and Guidance) on a wide range of social issues, including guided self-help and management of social integration, liaising appropriately with specialists and professionals within the wider team.

You will also hold line management responsibility for a Mental Health Advisor in the team.

Hybrid working will be considered in line with service need.

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to help lead on delivering our Student Placement program. Our program supports over 100 social work and nursing students a year on placement at St Mungo's to gain practical experience of working with individuals experiencing homelessness.

As Social Work Practice Assessor (Student Placement Coordinator) you will be working with universities, St Mungo's services and students on placement ensuring high quality and meaningful placements

In this role you will:

• Plan and manage social work students’ placements and ensure the provision of appropriate learning opportunities.
• Practice Educate up to 6 students at any one time whilst also overseeing the scheme.
• Facilitate the involvement of student nurses
• Provide support for local service-based supervisors to develop their knowledge and skills in supporting and supervising students on placement in their teams.

In this role you will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. This allows for training, in person collaboration, team building, line management and other relationship building opportunities. We support a flexible approach to work with opportunities for agile working for the rest of your week; from home, or other St Mungo’s London or regional locations.

We are looking for a highly-skilled Philanthropy Manager to create impact through building and growing our high-value donor programme. Key responsibilities:

• Develop and execute cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for a portfolio of approximately 130 mid-level and major donors and prospects with the capacity to make 5- and low 6-figure annual gifts (bigger gifts would fall to UK Fundraising Director)
• Effectively complete the moves management process and engage a portfolio of donors through meaningful connections including phone calls, personalized emails and mailings, face-to-face meetings, and other communications.
• Create a plan for each donor to serve as the annual engagement plan, effectively and, in a timely manner, execute that plan to retain and upgrade donors, and document all activities in Moves Management and/or Tasks in the database.
• Prepare and personalize correspondence and fundraising materials, including donor stewardship and impact reports, funding proposals, briefing memos, and acknowledgment letters as appropriate.
• Provide recommendations and assist in executing effective strategies to practice moves management and increase fundraising results.
• Assist the UK Director with developing projects that will enhance the philanthropy programme of the Development Department and support developing strategy briefs and leading preparation meetings.
• Help produce cultivation and stewardship programs for prospects and mid-level and major donors.
• Organise events for major donors and prospects.
• Complete research on major donors and prospects within data compliance requirements.
• Complete administrative tasks for the philanthropy programme.

Required Education and Experience:

• 5+ years of relevant experience with exposure to major gift donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship processes preferred.
• A proven history of generating income in the £100,000’s and securing gifts of £25,000 or more.
• Demonstrated success in developing substantive donor relationships and in coordinating with senior management and program staff to execute donor engagement strategies.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with both management and donors.
• Extremely detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills.

• Able to make sound decisions based on analysis, experience, and judgment.

Westway Trust is looking for an inspiring and motivated Health & Social Care Tutor to deliver high-quality teaching to adult learners in North Kensington. You will design and deliver the Level 1 Award in Health and Social Care, supporting learners through engaging sessions, effective assessment, and tailored guidance.

Teaching

This is a great opportunity for someone to join our service supporting Unpaid Carers across Lewisham. In this role, you will work closely with Primary Care Networks, GP practices, local authorities, social workers, voluntary sector, community centres, and faith groups to help identify and engage with Unpaid Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers.  

In this role, you will support services to improve registration, communication, support and accessibility, promoting ‘Carer Friendly’ environments and practice that supports the wellbeing of Unpaid Carers.

Salary: £27,000

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours a week over a rolling rota which includes 7.5 - 12 hour day and night shifts, Monday to Sunday working between 08:00 -21:30. You may also be required to work flexibly around these hours as per resident and service requirements, including weekends and bank holidays.

We are seeking a dedicated, patient, and compassionate Recovery Worker, with a specialism in complex needs to join our team, which supports residents who have a current or history of complex and mental health needs. In this role, you will deliver flexible, tailored, person centred support to residents to improve their quality of life and achieve their personal goals. You will utilise your communication skills to build trusting, professional rapport with our residents to help them overcome personal challenges. Our residents may have multiple and complex needs which includes with their mental health, substance use, and physical health. The service supports them to move onto lower supported or independent housing, and you will be at the forefront in their journey.

Some Key Responsibilities Include:

• Create tailored support plans through one to one sessions, group sessions, and multi agency meetings
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents at all times
• Focusing on empowering our residents to take control over their lives and meet their personal goals
• Planning activities to engage residents with other people, communities, and opportunities
• Be a valued and reliable member of the team, completing handovers for night colleagues for a seamless service
• Supporting residents with taking their correct medication

About You

We're looking for someone who has a genuine passion for supporting people who may have complex needs which includes mental health challenges and substance dependency. You will be able to build professional and trusting rapport with others, and work towards achieving positive outcomes, using a flexible and adaptable approach that recognises each individual’s unique and varied support needs. You will be motivated to help people overcome personal barriers and make a real difference to their lives, finding fulfilment in a role driven by a genuine commitment to supporting others. You will be able to remain calm, flexible, and positive when responding to challenging situations, and be motivated to support people to build resilience and independence. Experience in mental health or support work is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Social Worker to support children and young people diagnosed with cancer in our Liverpool Team.

We pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality support tailored to the needs of the children and young people and their families using a needs based assessment framework. The work we do is rewarding, but also complex and demanding. You will be part of a close-knit Young Lives vs Cancer social work team, working with an established NHS multi-disciplinary team and services in the community across Liverpool and Merseyside.

This role is part home, part site-based – within the parameters of our hybrid working arrangements you will work flexibly across home, Liverpool Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. Your contractual base will be both Home and the Hospitals. Your flexibility requirements and that of the role will be discussed at the interview stage.

What will I be doing?

No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.

• You will work in partnership with families to provide in-person and remote support to children and young people (0-24 years) diagnosed with cancer, and their families.
• You will provide practical and emotional support to mitigate the impact of a cancer diagnosis and provide support during the cancer journey via expert, needs-led interventions.
• You and your team will work closely with colleagues across our local NHS multi-disciplinary teams and other professionals in the community.
• You will ensure the voice of young cancer patients and their families are included in your work at all opportunities and take an active role in amplifying their voices internally and externally.
• You will be an active team member, regularly attending team meetings and contributing to shared learning and development.

What do I need?

You will be committed to delivering high quality social work support to promote the best outcomes for the children, young people and families we work with. You will need to be resourceful and resilient. You will have a positive attitude and be willing to embrace difference. As part of the wider Young Lives vs Cancer Team, you will actively engage with the work of the charity and welcome opportunities to get involved.

You will have:

• A recognised Social Worker qualification and current registration with Social Work England / Scottish Social Services Council / Social Care Wales / Northern Ireland Social Care Council.
• Experience working with children, young people and their families/carers in a social care setting.
• Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment, ideally in an NHS setting.
• Sound knowledge of child and young people development.
• An understanding of the impact of serious illness for children, young people and their families.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Job Title: Housing Lead

Location: Location: Bermondsey, Close to Surrey Quays station. (This location is hidden due to the sensitive nature of the service) Please note that this service has step free and lift access. 

Salary: £30,400

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday between 09:00 - 17:00. You may be required to work outside these hours dependent on service and resident requirements.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new community based service supporting offenders as they transition from prison back into the community; rather than a custodial setting, where residents are able to go out into the community depending on their licence restrictions. As our Housing Lead, you play a vital role in supporting residents futures by working closely with housing stakeholders and residents to create tailored, effective move on plans. You help ensure people have the right tools, support and opportunities to rebuild their lives, reconnect with the community and move forward with confidence in their rehabilitation journey.

Some Key Responsibilities include:

• Act as the main point of contact between landlords, housing associations, local authorities, private landlords, wider Social Interest Group Services, and our residents
• Work with the wider team to support residents with their long term needs
• Provide specialist support to the wider team to ensure they are regularly trained and kept up to date with policies and procedures, including government changes
• Provide regular reports and updates
• Manage current resident tenancies, ensuring timely rent payment
• Support with property and building management and maintenance including scheduling repairs

About You

We're looking for someone who has knowledge on different types of tenancies, an understanding of the types of needs of our resident group, and able to provide tailored solutions to meet their long term goals. You will have a true passion to support in making a change, supporting rehabilitation, and providing opportunities to people to make positive changes to their lives, and reintegrate into society. You will have a general understanding of the criminal justice system, and/or have experience supporting people with multiple/complex needs. Further, you will have:

• Previous experience in coordinating/delivering activities and interventions with people from different backgrounds
• Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds and/or a good understanding of the sector
• Knowledge of risk management and risk assessment
• Knowledge of license conditions and public protection
• Knowledge of tenancy management, able to share knowledge with others in the team and residents
• Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs
• The ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral. Ability to form and build effective relationships and rapport with others
• Ability to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others; Proactive in making decisions
• Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Care Supervisor to lead and supervise care teams at Halsey House.

Work pattern: 37.5 hours per week, 3 shifts over 7 days between 07.00 - 19.30.

Social Work Adviser

Location: Westminster 

Salary: £40,000 per annum

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Social Work Adviser (Child Welfare and Safeguarding) based at the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) in Westminster, seconded from Heathrow Travel Care (HTC), the airport social work team. You will join us on a full-time, 18 month contract (potential extension upon mutual agreement) and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £40,000 per annum, plus benefits.

The role of our Social Work Adviser (Child Welfare and Safeguarding) is to enable the FCDO to offer advice and assistance to vulnerable British nationals known to the UK Consular Network.

Responsibilities as our Social Work Adviser (Child Welfare and Safeguarding):

FCDO

• Providing advice, support and guidance to consular assistance staff in London and staff based overseas on child safeguarding social work issues for British nationals
• Working jointly with the consular child policy unit (CPU) to review child-related cases and policy
• Working collaboratively with the social work advisor team to review cases and relevant policy
• Investigating, signposting, planning with consular staff who are working with British nationals to provide specialist children and families advice to the consular staff
• Referring 'meet and assist’ cases to relevant service providers at UK ports
• Undertaking the risk assessment of cases
• Ensuring policy, guidance and training are inputted to the consular staff on child welfare issues
• Building and maintaining links with relevant assistance NGOs & travel partners via outreach work
• Building and maintaining links with Consular Regional Directors
• Covering for the Social Work Adviser team as required
• Recording all cases on a secure consular information network and monthly reporting to HTC
• Maintaining international outreach – there may be opportunities for international travel to support FCDO staff abroad

HTC (1 day per 5 weeks)

• Working within the airport crisis team at Heathrow
• Advising and assisting a wide variety client groups
• Being part of a unique and interesting social work environment
• Participating in emergency preparedness and response at Heathrow
• Continuing professional development

What we’re looking for in our Social Work Adviser (Children & Families):

• 2 years’ recent statutory social work experience
• Recent experience of working directly with children and families to statutory standards
• Experience of direct work, working with the impact of trauma and ensuring safeguarding is always prioritised
• Experience of making and recording risk assessments, including Safe Lives RIC and other evidence-based assessment tools
• Experience of problem-solving under time pressure
• Experience of prioritising casework according to risk and need
• Working knowledge of child safeguarding procedures within Local Authorities
• An understanding of child safeguarding policy
• The ability to work effectively in partnership with other agencies
• The ability to make clear recommendations on how to address risk and need based on professional judgement and experience.
• The ability to recognise signs that a child may not be meeting developmental milestones, has been harmed or is at risk of harm
• The ability to advocate for children and young people, to ensure they receive organisational focus, resource and support as appropriate
