This role is perfect for a proactive, experienced, relational fundraiser who is excited by the opportunity to make a lasting difference in Merton, and enjoys working as part of a small, committed team.
Your primary focus will be to agree and meet fundraising targets by developing new relationships with corporates, trusts, foundations, and individuals. Merton Connected strengthens the voluntary, community and faith sector and supports charitable organisations across the borough through training, advice, volunteering and partnership building. We pioneered social prescribing in Merton, now embedded in every GP practice for over a decade. We also deliver Healthwatch Merton, the Home Visits Library and Merton Giving.
Merton Giving is our collaborative grant-giving programme through which we work with local people and organisations to raise funds that are distributed to local community organisations to tackle issues identified by local people. Main purpose of the job
Main Tasks
Finance Administration and Financial Control
1. Process income sales invoices, grant claims and associated receipts and payments, ensuring timely receipt of all revenue.
2. Process purchase ledger invoices and associated payments.
3. Calculate accruals, prepayments and internal recharges.
4. Complete bank reconciliations.
5. Maintain and update the organisation’s asset register.
6. Maintain project files in line with funding guidelines.
7. Record cash account transactions, including weekly cash issues to relevant budget holders, ensuring all returns comply with financial procedures.
8. Monitor individual budgets and highlight any issues or concerns to the appropriate colleagues.
9. Liaise with the charity’s auditors and provide information required to support the annual audit.
10. Assist in the design, management and co-ordination of appropriate finance and administrative systems as required.
11. Ensure day-to-day financial processes comply with the Financial Procedures Policy.
12. Contribute to procurement and value-for-money activities.

16. Assist with the production of reports for funders, trustees and the Senior Leadership Team, including annual and impact reports.

Groundwork has an exciting opportunity within our Project Team for a Home Energy Advisor (Green Doctor). Our Green Doctor will support those in need across the region, engaging and offering practical support to people most at risk of fuel poverty, helping to make their homes more environmentally friendly and cheaper to run.
Job Purpose
We are seeking someone who is a confident communicator who will engage with the community to deliver informal training and encouraging referrals to the Green Doctor programme.
This role requires a dynamic and dedicated person who can think on their feet, someone with a caring nature who has a strong desire for helping people and is passionate about making a difference. You will need to be highly organised and adaptable as no two days will be the same.
You will undertake assessments, fit practical energy saving measures and then offer energy saving advice to residents.
It’s a unique and challenging role that gives you the chance to make a difference to people’s lives every day.
Appropriate qualifications in energy efficiency would be useful but not vital as we will provide full in-job training for the successful candidates.
