Job Title: Support worker

Competencies
- Knowledge, empathy, understanding and proven ability to work creatively and engage homeless people whose alcohol/ drug misuse/ mental health/ complex trauma has had significant effect on their physical and mental health, social and coping skills .
- Ability to assess needs, risks (within a framework of positive risk taking) and develop user led support plans.
- Awareness of and ability to identify and address health and care issues with partners, especially substance misuse, mental health, dementia etc.
- Ability to respond to challenging behaviour in a safe way.
- Ability to develop successful professional relationships, working collaboratively with external and internal partners , sharing expertise and learning from colleagues in health, social care,probation and voluntary sector etc
- Knowledge of and commitment to service user involvement, self empowerment, equalities, diversity andservice improvement
- Basic understanding of the principals of delivering support within a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) and commitment to working within this model

The role
You'll be responsible for providing a comprehensive technical surveying service, with a focus on effective delivery of maintenance services. The role will investigate and provide advice on the resolution of complex maintenance issues such as building disrepair, structural failure, and defect analysis, raised either internally or by our customers. This role provides advice and advocacy to LGBTQ+ people who contact Stonewall Housing because they are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The goal is to help people understand their rights and navigate their housing options in order that they have somewhere safe to live. People usually contact us because they are in crisis, the Case Worker’s job is to calmly assess their housing needs, provide them with immediate advice and sign posting and, where necessary, provide advocacy case work to ensure they get access to what they are entitled to.
Key Responsibilities
· To provide a high quality, flexible and responsive advice and case work service to LGBTQ+ people, supporting them to exercise their rights and get access to safe accommodation.

Main Duties of the Post
Casework Sessions
· To give holistic support to LGBTQ+ people accessing our advice and advocacy service and to provide proactive support to these service users who are sometimes hard to engage.
· To assess each individual’s current housing situation and form a view with regards to risk associated with their case.
· To explore all options available to the service user allowing them to make informed decisions.
· To work with LGBTQ+ people accessing the advice and advocacy to develop and review individual work plans and risk assessments.
· To have regular case work sessions to provide structured support, in relation to Housing specific issues.
· To liaise with other service providers ensuring service users receive the necessary support to sustain their accommodation, acquire relevant independent living skills, maintain or improve positive physical and mental health and access into meaningful occupation of their time.
Liaison with Landlords / Other Agencies
· To support service users to report repairs and work with landlords and advocate where necessary.
· To support service users to contact local authority, voluntary and private sector landlords to report anti-social behaviour issues and advocate where necessary.
· To support service users to present to local authorities as homeless, where appropriate, and advocate where necessary.

· To establish and maintain accurate and complete records in all areas of work
· To complete statistics for the collation of performance and funding information

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Experience
· Lived experience, or experience of working with homeless or vulnerable LGBTQ+ people, in a voluntary or paid employment setting

· Experience of providing advice and advocacy support to vulnerable people in a professional setting
· Experience of working with and delivering services to a diverse client group with a wide range of support needs

The role:
They have been transforming lives for more than half a century, and over this time they have successfully grown their services and developed strong relationships with their stakeholders, partners, and suppliers. They currently manage just over 900 units (living accommodation) where they are responsible for repairs and maintenance. For this role, they are looking for someone to manage their reactive repairs service and voids. This will include managing their Inhouse Repairs Team and external contractors to ensure repairs and void works are completed to the required standards and timescales, along with ensuring their properties are safe, secure, and inspected at the required frequencies. There will be regular contact and liaison with their In-House Repairs Team, staff, external contractors, and residents, so good communication skills are required.
The role will involve frequent travel across their stock portfolio, so you will need to have suitable transportation. This is also a hybrid role, but there will be a need to be in their various offices as and when required.
They are ideally looking for:
• Experience in delivering repairs, maintenance, and void management within the sector. • Management of trade operatives or direct labour, and management of external contractors. • Delivery of works against agreed performance indicators, contractual and statutory requirements, and within agreed budgets. • Ability to produce specifications and ensure works are carried out to the required standard. • Awareness of property legislation and standards relating to social and supported housing. • Ability to organise their own workload and provide regular updates on progress. • Good IT skills as this is a key part of the role. • Good communication skills, especially dealing with staff and residents face to face.

The Role

About the role

We are looking for two Recovery Motivators to join our teams in the Camden Integrated Drug and Alcohol service. Our Recovery Motivators will focus on a lead area - Women and The Camden Hostel Pathway.
About the roles:
SHP/CGL within the new Partnership and Camden’s Integrated Drug and Alcohol service has secured 1 year's funding for 2 exciting role s for people with a lived experience to support other in Recovery. The 2 roles will be specialist roles and based in both treatment sites as well as some Camden hostels with the in-reach team and well working with the Women's Senior Practitioner across women's services. The idea of the role is for People with a lived experience from homelessness and or Substance misuse help and support and shape services along with specialist practitioners working for both SHP and CGL.
The new post Women's post will be working across Camden substance misuse services to build safe spaces for women to access the treatment they need without fear from further harm or trauma. (*For genuine occupational requirement reasons, we are seeking female applicants only for this post (exemption under the Equality Act 2010; Schedule 9 Part 1).
The new Hostel based post will be working with the Recovery in reach team to develop positive activities for Camden's hostel pathway clients to access treatment but also develop positive things in their lives to inspire their recovery.
We are looking for 2 dynamic individuals to develop their skills as well as learn Trauma informed interventions to develop and transform clients experience of treatment and services which supports better lives and outcomes for clients.
About you:
- An individual with a lived experience of substance misuse as well as experience of accessing Treatment and Recovery services.
- An understanding of the principles of planned support and working with vulnerable people.
- An understanding of the principles underlying a quality and customer focussed service with the proven ability to empower service users.
- The ability to be self-motivating, work under pressure and manage time effectively, prioritising different areas of work according to need.
- Willingness to work flexibly in response to changing organisational requirements and work outside of office hours on occasion.
- Strong time management skills, ability to work on own initiative, manage competing priorities and maintain high standards.

We have an opportunity for a Customer Specialist Manager - Housing to join our team in Newbury.
It's a fixed term role until the end of September 2025 with a starting salary of £42,000 - £50,000 per year depending on experience.

The role
As a Customer Specialist manager you'll be leading, motivating and empowering your team to deliver advice and outcomes to customers with complex housing issues. This will include all tenancy related matters including domestic abuse, anti-social behaviour, safeguarding, tenancy changes, fraud and rehousing.
You'll ensure that the team provide prompt responses, looking for first time resolutions and taking ownership of cases from end to end.

What you'll need:
