£35,000.00 per annum (pro rata), working 35 hours per week.

To play a key role in Look Ahead's review of service charge structures across its commissioned and non-commissioned housing portfolio.

They will draft new service charge schedules, provide clear written rationales for all proposed charges, and liaise directly with local authorities and housing benefit to explain and agree new charges for 2026-27.

Review and Rebuild Service Charge Budgets

• Lead on the zero-based review of existing rent and service charge budgets across Look Ahead's full housing portfolio.

Draft and Implement New Service Charges Schedules

• Produce accurate and transparent service charges schedules for each scheme, distinguishing between eligible and ineligible costs in line with housing benefit guidance and provide summary rationale for each cost element.

Liaise with Local Authorities, Housing Benefit Teams and Owning Landlords

• Act as key contact for Housing Benefit teams, representing Look Ahead in rent and service discussion for 2026-27.

Collaboration and Internal Coordination

• Working closely with finance colleagues to align service charges budgets with proposed schedules for 2026-27.

Compliance, Reporting and Improvement

• Ensure full compliance with DWP guidance (including circulars A4/2014 and A1/2023), HB regulations, and Regulator of Social Housing requirements.

• Highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines in a time-limited role.

Job Summary 

Z House is an exciting project run by Caring in Bristol, opening in July 2024. It provides emergency short-term accommodation for 18 – 25-year-olds in housing crisis, which is supplemented by daytime support to help people move on to sustainable and appropriate accommodation.

Based in St Pauls, Z house fosters a safe and supportive environment where 4 young people can stay in the Night Shelter at a time until they obtain suitable accommodation.This Role is for 4 Nights a Week, Monday to Thursday, involving a mix of both Waking and Sleep-in hours.

Sometimes working alongside a volunteer, you will be responsible for providing a safe space, listening ear and support for young people using the service. 

The role involves starting at 20:30, supporting our young people to settle for the evening before your sleep-in shift from 11:30pm until 07:30 am, in the morning you’ll support the young people and our volunteers with Breakfast and room changeover for the day, finishing your shift at 08.30am.

Key responsibilities 

Housing management 

• Sign up and induct young people arriving outside of normal working hours

• Ensure the health, safety and security of the building, colleagues, residents, and visitors; taking reasonable care to protect yourself and all other persons, complying with health and safety legislation and procedures; seek guidance as necessary and highlight any significant deficiencies to a senior colleague 

• Carry out any required health and safety, housing management, risk management, etc. monitoring, keeping accurate and complete records throughout.

• Identify and report defects in the buildings, furniture, and equipment to promote a safe working environment in line with Health and Safety, following relevant procedures to remedy all defects.

Role Purpose

To provide specialist welfare rights advice, casework, and representation to clients, including preparation and attendance at welfare benefit tribunals. The postholder will support clients to maximise income, challenge incorrect benefit decisions, and access their full entitlements, in line with the aims, principles, and quality standards of the Citizens Advice service.

Key Responsibilities

Advice & Casework

• Provide specialist advice on welfare benefits including Universal Credit, PIP, ESA, DLA, and Housing Benefit.

• Prepare and submit mandatory reconsiderations and benefit appeals.

• Represent clients at First‑tier Social Security Tribunals where appropriate.

• Carry out detailed benefit checks and income maximisation.

This is a senior, high-impact post. You will lead on business development and income generation — writing bids, building partnerships and developing strategy — working closely with the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team.

A key part of the role is dedicated to securing funding for our Lost Woods Project, a multi-agency community development initiative running until November 2027.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Proven track record of securing grant funding and winning contracts, including large bids of £150,000+
• Experience of collaborative bidding and partnership development
• Management experience in a similar organisation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience of CRM systems
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
• Knowledge of the national and local funding landscape and public sector commissioning

We are looking for someone with a proven record of developing collaboration and coproduction across services for people experiencing housing or homelessness issues people, to join us as a Project Coordinator. The role will oversee the development of Shelter’s participation in the Norfolk Homelessness Solution Forum. 

About this role 

Your role as Project Coordinator will further develop collaboration and coproduction across organisations who are member of the Norfolk Homelessness Solutions Forum. Specifically, this will involve project management for delivering the Forum’s objectives, overseeing the project communications plan and establishing and leading delivery working groups. You will oversee and support the work of the Norfolk Homelessness Solution Forum’s Lived Experience Coordinator, act as an adviser on good practice for partners and ensure that co-production, collaboration and a person centred focus is at the heart of everything you do.

About you 

You will have experience of managing complex projects, including using a range of Project Management techniques and influencing system change using an evidence base. An outstanding and adaptable communicator, you will have experience of chairing meetings, delivering presentations and working in a multi-disciplinary context with external stakeholders. Your understanding and empathy for the people worst impacted by the housing emergency means you will be able to motivate partner organisations, championing the work of Shelter and the Forum within Norfolk.

The aim of the Norfolk Homelessness Solution Forum is to bring about system change for homelessness support in Norfolk, by ensuring that the people’s views are transferred into policies and practices that truly support and serve the community. The Forum helps with the sharing of best practice, identifying service gaps and developing strategy to reduce homelessness and rough sleeping. 

About the Team

We have been providing housing advice to the people of Norfolk for almost 30 years, with specialisms in housing legal advice and advocacy. Our team work out of our Community Hub in Norwich and across Norfolk in community settings. We work in partnership with other local services to address interconnected issues which may impact on our clients’ ability to keep a home. This also includes advice for residents of Kings Lynn in partnership with Broadland Housing and Norfolk Citizens Advice. We also deliver housing right awareness sessions to empower local communities to take action on housing issues.

About the role

This role sits within our Partnership Management team in the Income Generation directorate you will be working with the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager to deliver strategic partnership activity in line with Shelter’s organisation goals. You will play a key part in the success of leading on our employee fundraising within the private sector and engagement activities for one of our large existing partnerships that generates over £2m+ income for Shelter and lead on the success of managing a diverse portfolio of five and six figure partnerships across multiple sectors delivering a high quality for colleague, customer fundraising and commercial campaigns. It will involve presenting Shelter’s cause effectively to a wide range of audiences internally and externally through various forms of communication. 

The role requires a proactive approach and creative flair developing and executing new partnership activities to align with our targets to drive these forwards. It will involve leading and collaborating on additional projects that support the wider Corporate Partnerships team strategy and managing elements of partners finances with completing income forecasting, updating our supporter database and supporting the team.

You will be proactive and have excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage and win people over and convey complex ideas succinctly, confidently and persuasively. You will have experience in corporate fundraising, partnership management or account management and be able to strengthen relationships with existing partnerships to grow fundraising income. The post requires a committed, well-motivated individual with excellent communication skills, able to absorb responsibility yet delegate to an established and talented team of senior managers. Training, where applicable, will be provided, particularly for registration as the Nominated Individual. The post also takes responsibility for Finance, and thus an understanding of financial procedures and budgetary control will be essential.

Reporting to the Chair, other duties will include;

● As the Nominated Individual, supervise the management of the Care Home (Belvedere House), together with Housing, ensuring the highest standards of delivery possible are being achieved.

● Representing the interests of the Society within the wider Maritime Charity and Care sectors as necessary.

● Ensuring that the Strategic Plan and all Policies laid down by the Society are implemented and adhered to.

● Ensuring that all legal, statutory, governance, and best practice guidelines are adhered to.

● Overseeing grant application planning, submission and implementation, including identifying resource requirements and submitting proposals.

Who are we looking for?

The nature of the Charity defines that a candidate with some maritime experience in a leadership role would be an advantage but is not essential. Previous experience in the care sector or some experience in regulated environments is also desirable

The successful candidate will have proven experience as a senior manager, and will be an effective leader, with a willingness to learn then apply knowledge of Care Services as the legally Nominated Individual. The chosen candidate will require DBS certification for work with vulnerable adults.

This role is an expansion of a current Finance Administrator's role, to allow additional support for our ecumenical charity's growth. This role will be responsible for all aspects of finance administrative and CRM database support and the successful candidate will want to be part of a faith-based organisation, committed to the mission of the charity both in the UK and the Holy Land.

The primary responsibility and focus of the role will be to support the Finance Manager with finance handling and working with our CRM database to improve data quality; additionally you will support the administrative function, particularly in engaging with the CRM database as needed and available for the operational success of the charity. You will need to be comfortable working in a faith-based organisation, talking to supporters and clergy across the UK and with our partners in the Holy Land.

You will be working under the day-to-day management of the Finance Manager as a direct report but collaborating closely with the Office Manager for administrative work as required.

Typical tasks will include:

• Record financial donations from all income streams into the charity (cash, cheque, CAF, BACS, online, by phone, in-person)
• Monitor bank account payments, online donations, and standing orders/direct debits
• Produce reports from payment processing companies
• Produce Gift Aid claims in conjunction with Finance Manager
• Logging and recording of accounts payable
• Become an expert user of our CRM (Access ThankQ) to ensure high-quality, accurate and compliant supporter data
• Use the CRM to produce segmentation, reporting and data analysis - creating queries, dashboards and reports to track performance
• To support the delivery and distribution of shop products purchased either through the website shop, over the phone or by mail order
• Assist with product stock and ordering
• Assist with the website shop and maintaining/adding product listings
• Basic office duties, including answering phone calls, logging and responding to letters and emails, franking letters, taking donations by phone
• Assist with other project deliverables identified by management
• Help maintain the cleanliness and Health and Safety of the office environment including cleaning and tidying as needed

Suitable training will be given as needed. 

You will need to have previous experience in a finance role and will ideally have previous experience working in a charity.
