We provide devices, internet connectivity, and digital skills support to refugees. Our full-service digital inclusion support gives refugees an opportunity to get on with their lives. If they are digitally excluded, they cannot access education, employment, or support services. Being offline slows down language learning, delays the asylum process, creates social isolation and marginalises refugees at a time in their lives when they have to be online. We are looking for a hands-on leader who can bring significant income-generating expertise to a new challenge. You’ll sit lead our Outreach team, be a collaborative 'do-er' who leads inclusively, is passionate about our mission and wants to add value to our small team from day one. We want to work with someone who is excited by our growth journey and can be flexible and dynamic as we scale. We are launching our Senior Leadership Team this summer, which includes a Director of Income to take ownership of our income generation, drive forward our social value offer and lead our Outreach team effectively and kindly.
Purpose of the Role
The Director of Income role is responsible for leading our income generation. Our fundraising strategy is to significantly grow and further diversify our income, with a particular focus on corporate and trading income. The postholder will coordinate our fundraising activity, lead our Outreach team and work closely with the CEO to drive forward our income generation so we can safely deliver our ambitious strategy over the next 5 years.
In particular, the postholder will be responsible for coordinating and developing our income function, converting our strategic fundraising objectives into operational plans, managing the Head of Outreach and representing the organisation externally. However, the role is not solely governance and leadership - we need a do-er who is comfortable working in a small team and sharing responsibilities, including submitting fundraising proposals and taking responsibility for our reporting. They will work closely with the CEO, Director of Programmes, Head of Outreach and Communications and Fundraising Coordinator to ensure we are communicating our value proposition coherently and effectively to the important stakeholders that make our work possible.
We do not see this as a traditional fundraising director role - we are looking for a skilled generalist who can meet us where we are at by working confidently across Trusts and Foundations, statutory grants, corporate partnerships and traded services simultaneously. We are a small charity with 10 staff, so while we are looking for a decision-making and accountable leader, the postholder will be expected to support colleagues across the organisation. They will have a collaborateive spirit and the emotional intelligence to thrive in a small team.
The postholder will lead the Outreach team (CEO, Head of Outreach, and Fundraising and Communications Coordinator), ensuring we work efficiently and together. They will also model our values, actively promote our commitment to refugee leadership, and bring stability and leadership at a crucial time for our organisation's development. Mind in Croydon is seeking a compassionate, proactive and community-focused Social Networking Caseworker to support adults experiencing severe and enduring mental health challenges to build confidence, strengthen social networks and engage in meaningful community activities.
This is a person-centred, recovery-focused role working with a caseload of up to 35 individuals. We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical/Counselling Psychological Lead to work with an innovative and friendly multidisciplinary adult team at our London Centre.
You will manage and coordinate a team of highly skilled and dedicated clinicians, in the service delivery of a range of NICE guideline recommended therapy interventions, offered to our clients, who are survivors of torture and organised violence. You will report to the Head of Clinical Services, London and operate as an integral part of the London Clinical Services Team. This is an exciting chance to join us as we place survivor empowerment and movement building at the heart of our strategy, it is based in a centre specifically designed to be a safe and welcoming environment for survivors
About the role
This is a wide-ranging position, and your key areas of responsibility will include:
· To manage a multi-disciplinary team, including paid staff and volunteers from different professions and disciplines and provide professional and clinical supervision to qualified clinicians and trainees in the service including, clinical/counselling psychologists.
· This role may also include providing remote clinical supervision, support and advice as well as line management and guidance around risk and safeguarding to clinicians across our other centres as required.
· To ensure that Freedom from Torture's clinical model continues to be fully rolled out, with particular emphasis on survivor empowerment and evidence-based practice for addressing PTSD and other mental health impacts of torture.
· Championing people development as well as influence delivery of evidenced -based practice, clinical standards, quality initiatives and audit-based services.
· To formulate psychological treatment and management plans for survivors of torture and to provide psychological treatment for a small caseload, using a range of psychological interventions in line with our clinical pathway that draws on a range of evidence based models for the treatment of survivors of torture.
· Being an effective role model and leader to encourage, develop and enhance skills of others.
About you
This is an important role within Freedom from Torture. To be successful in this role you must have a high level of commitment to maintaining excellent standards of client care and service delivery. It is a key requirement that you must have knowledge of appropriate clinical standards and external regulatory bodies. You must also have sound financial awareness and experience of balancing the provision of quality care against budgetary parameters.
To be considered for this role you must be a Psychologist registered with HCPC and have qualified with a doctorate or equivalent in either clinical or counselling psychology. You must have professional experience of working with clients with complex PTSD and have post-qualification experience of using evidence-based trauma focused therapy models. It is essential that you have a clear understanding of the experience of refugees and people seeking asylum, both in terms of pre-flight experience and the experience of living in exile. You must have previous management and supervision experience and be able to provide demonstrable examples of how you have successfully led and influenced clinical teams within community or health care settings.
We also offer access to additional therapy training including NET and EMDR, as well as access to high quality clinical supervision and an opportunity to hold a small case load alongside your management practice

About the role
Our adviser teams work within local areas providing a wide range of expert information and guidance, via a variety of channels including community settings. You’ll provide a personalised service that enables appropriate levels of self-advocacy and/ or advocate on behalf of clients, signposting to other services as relevant.
You’ll empower people affected by Parkinson’s, their families and carers to live lives that are as fulfilling as possible and to take an active role in their treatment becoming their own advocate in health and life, wherever possible.
What you’ll do:
Provide in depth, person-centred information and guidance to clients by a range of means, including community settings, and ensuring the most efficient and effective use of resources in line with service policy
Respond to enquiries through a range of channels and areas based on service need, keeping accurate, up to date online client records in line with practice
Make best use of time in providing an effective client service
Recognise and respond to potential safeguarding situations using established procedures
Provide information on a variety of health and social care issues, including appropriate emotional support, employment and welfare benefits guidance and advocating with and on behalf of clients
What you’ll bring:
Background and/or current experience in health and social care
Experience of providing health and social care information through a range of channels
Well-developed telephone skills including active listening and questioning
Experience of supporting and empowering people with problem solving, navigating the health and social care system and participating in their own care
Experience managing a complex caseload effectively and efficiently
Demonstrable digital competence, with experience of effective use of a range of tools including online case management systems or similar
Live in the area covered by the role (London) with the ability to travel and work flexibly

The successful candidate will be required to:
Live in the area specified - North East London boroughs of Redbridge, Havering, Barking and Dagenham, Waltham Forest and Newham, and be able to travel freely and flexibly around these areas and occasionally further afield without reliance on public transport
Provide their own broadband service with a minimum download speed of 2Mb
Have a confidential space in which to work
Provide occasional cover on Saturdays and/or Bank holidays
