We’re looking for a new Philanthropy Manager, homebased in the South East of England, to join our expanding Philanthropy Team. The Philanthropy Team supports the RNLI by working with individuals who are passionate about our work and want to make a difference through high-value gifts.
This is an exciting time to join the team as we are about to embark on a £150m capital appeal which the Philanthropy Team will be a key part of delivering. This is a new role, our second in the South East, and you will work closely with our experienced Philanthropy Manager who has been managing the whole area. You will have a dedicated geography of focus around but not exclusive to Essex, Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey and part of London.

Your role
As a Philanthropy Manager, you will be tasked with focus on the following areas:
- Growing and managing a portfolio of up to 70-90 major donors, to solicit and close five, six and seven figure gifts
- Building compelling cases for support that inspire and align with donors’ interests and identified needs
- Developing and hosting a small number of engagement, prospecting, and recognition events
- Providing excellent customer service and stewardship
About you
We’re looking for someone who loves meeting people and has a natural aptitude for selling and prospecting. You’ll thrive on developing relationships, inspiring others in the work of the RNLI. Your great communication skills will allow you to flex your style to a wider range of audiences, whether colleagues, senior stakeholders, donors or prospects. You’ll be self-motivated working as part of a remote team and be comfortable working outside regular office hours and travelling occasionally within the rest of the UK and Ireland as the job demands.
To be considered as a Philanthropy Manager, you will need:
- Ideally you will be able to have easy access to your key geographical areas highlighted above
- Relevant or transferable experience of account managing and developing and maintaining excellent relationships with individuals. You excel at Customer Service.
- Experience of working with stakeholders at all levels both internal and external, securing and managing meetings with senior stakeholders, flexing style to the audience.
- Excellent numerical skills and ability to prepare financial information, and ability to discuss and present complex information, and the ability to communicate with passion and authority

Your role

- Experience of supporting and nurturing corporate or community partnerships
- Wales is a bilingual country, with both Welsh and English used routinely. Whilst the ability to speak and write in Welsh is not an essential requirement for the role, an understanding of the importance of Welsh language and culture is essential
Please note, this role requires a significant level of travel within the designated region of Wales, North West England, West Midlands and Isle of Man but will also require occasional travel to other RNLI assets including our support centre in Poole and occasional overnight stays.

About Brum Unitarians

Job Purpose
To support and grow Brum Unitarians through operational management, project delivery, administration, compliance and revenue generation. You will agree quarterly priorities with trustees, with early focus on increasing revenue, improving operational systems and supporting greater use of our building. Once these foundations are laid there will be a growing emphasis on managing community projects and initiatives.
You will oversee the day-to-day operation of our building (large hall, small hall, office, foyer and outdoor space), ensuring an excellent experience for hirers, compliance with relevant requirements and effective use of the premises. The role is partly site-based, with flexibility for some remote working. Some local travel required.
You will work alongside our Children's Lead and Social Media & Communications Lead, liaise with the district buildings consultant, and report to the managing trustees.

About the role
Guided by Nene Park Trust's Business Plan and Fundraising Strategy, the Head of Fundraising will lead and develop a comprehensive fundraising programme across all income streams. You will need to be highly competent at applying to Trusts and Foundations, including Lottery funders - our most lucrative channel for charitable income, whilst also able to drive the growth of our corporate and individual fundraising programmes which are at an exciting stage of development.
As the senior member of the Fundraising Team, you will oversee and lead innovative fundraising campaigns, appeals and events, and build and steward lasting relationships with donors, partners and supporters at local and national levels.
You will lead and manage the Fundraising Team, setting clear objectives, supporting professional development and driving high performance aligned to the Trust's values and culture. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation, you will ensure fundraising activity is well-coordinated, compliant and mpactful, helping to secure the income needed to realise the Trust's considerable ambitions.
Key areas of work:
Fundraising Strategy and Planning
- Lead the delivery of the Trust's Fundraising Strategy, devising and managing an annual work programme that covers a wide range of fundraising opportunities, maintains diverse and sustainable income streams, and builds the organisation's voluntary income capacity to meet its strategic aims and objectives.
- Initiate, manage and coordinate major project-based fundraising campaigns, events and other activities in support of the Trust's Business Plan.
- Monitor best practice among close competitors and the wider charity sector to ensure the Trust's approach to fundraising is coherent and delivering the required impact.
- Ensure that all fundraising activity is responsible, delivery-focused and compliant with relevant charity and statutory legislation, fundraising regulations and recognised codes of practice.
Trusts, Foundations and Statutory Funding
- Lead the development and submission of grant applications to charitable trusts, foundations and statutory/public bodies to support standalone projects, capital purchases and core cost recovery.
- Help develop cases for support, business cases and budgets for projects and activities, and support project leads to monitor and control work programmes and expenditure.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to funders and other stakeholders in line with grant conditions.
- Identify funding information sources and carry out in-depth research on funding opportunities.
Corporate Fundraising and Partnerships

- Manage and oversee fundraising budgets responsibly and in line with the Trust's financial policies and procedures.
- Contribute to reporting on the Trust's fundraising performance, providing regular and accurate updates to the Chief Executive and Trustees.
Team Leadership and Management
- Provide clear, values-based leadership to the Fundraising Team, creating an environment where people can bring their best to the Trust.

- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience, with evidence of recent and ongoing professional development relevant to fundraising

We are a small team, looking for a part-time Fundraising Assistant to work alongside our existing Fundraising Officer, with a focus on engaging our donors and supporters and acting as first point of contact for many of our fundraisers, alongside maintaining accurate records and administration that keeps our fundraising running smoothly. You'll support activity across our income streams as part of our internal Fundraising Board, alongside our CEO, Head of Fundraising and Fundraising Officer. About the role
Reporting in to the Church Engagement & Fundraising Advisor, the Church Engagement & Fundraising Officer is a proactive fundraising and church engagement role.
You will be out in churches and communities across London and the home counties, building new relationships, strengthening existing high-value support, and inspiring churches to give, act and pray with Christian Aid.
You will identify and approach prospective churches, pick up the phone to book meetings, speak confidently in church services and local gatherings, and make compelling asks that lead to increased giving and deeper engagement.
This is a remote team to facilitate post holders to be proactively present in local church communities. Much of your impact will come from being out and about: visiting churches, meeting clergy and volunteers, attending local events, speaking at services, and building relationships face to face. You should expect regular travel across London and the home counties, including some evenings and weekends.
We are looking for someone who is energised by being out in the community, not someone looking for a primarily desk-based role.
In this role, success will mean:
- building a strong pipeline of churches and groups with the potential to support Christian Aid;
- securing meetings, speaking opportunities and invitations into church spaces;

Role Purpose
The Relationship Fundraiser will support the Philanthropy Manager to secure and increase income through the charity’s Philanthropy strategy.
The post holder will support with developing a robust pipeline of prospects and will be responsible for managing a portfolio of new and existing major donor relationships. You will be creative and analytical and provide first class research, administration, relationship management and database skills and provide excellent donor stewardship.
