Job description

Individual Giving and Legacy Manager

A reputable charity is seeking an experienced and dynamic Individual Giving and Legacy Manager to join their dedicated team. This pivotal role is responsible for driving income growth through targeted supporter engagement and legacy fundraising initiatives. With a current income stream exceeding £4.5 million, including legacy gifts, this is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of animal welfare.

The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in individual giving and legacy fundraising, with digital acumen and a knack for innovative supporter journeys. You should be detail-oriented, a strong communicator, and comfortable producing compelling copy across digital and print channels. Strategic thinking, creativity, and openness to new approaches are essential.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in individual giving (60% of role)
  • Knowledge of legacy fundraising and supporter engagement
  • Digital marketing and communication skills
  • Strong copywriting and digital content creation
  • Data-driven mindset and experience with CRM systems (ThankQ, Access Suite)
  • Ability to develop supporter journeys and grow fundraising portfolios

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working within animal charities or similar sectors
  • Volunteer management or network development experience
  • Budget management skills

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent in marketing, fundraising, or related fields
  • Demonstrable success in managing donor portfolios and campaigns

Other Requirements:

  • Based near Horley, with ability to commute (car recommended)
  • In-person presence three days per week
  • Commitment to contributing to a growing supporter base and legacy strategy
