This role is a one-year fixed-term position.
Overall purpose
The middle school English teacher is responsible for delivering an English curriculum in an engaging, stimulating and effective manner, using varied instructional strategies.
Summary of duties
Teach four sections of Grade 8 English
Serve as a Grade 8 advisor: build positive relationships with advisees and their families, deliver advisory curriculum, coach advisees with social, emotional, and academic topics, liaise with team teachers
Plan, teach, and assess in close alignment with grade level teaching partner
Collaborate with grade-level team teachers to support student well-being and academic progress, as well as the advisory curriculum and various team initiatives
Coordinate curriculum with other members of the English department, and liaise with other departments where appropriate
Exhibit knowledge of current trends, pedagogy, research, and topics of importance in English education by applying it in the classroom and sharing it with teachers on a departmental and school-wide basis
Monitor and evaluate students’ progress, prepare for parent conferences, complete report cards, etc.
Take responsibility for the safety and well-being of all students at all times
Organize and participate in field trips to facilitate active learning, including bonding days and a week-long trip abroad in May
Participate in regular, purposeful pedagogy meetings and in professional development sessions
Participate actively in the life of the School, through attendance at events, committee membership and leadership of co-curricular activities
Any other duties (including lunch and recess coverage) as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the Middle School Principal
Selection criteria
Essential qualifications/experience:
A bachelor’s degree in English or a relevant discipline
Substantive full-time teaching Middle School English
Experience and commitment to working collaboratively in a team-focused environment
Experience with differentiating instruction to meet the learning needs of all students
Experience as an Advisor supporting the social and emotional needs of all students
Training and experience in intercultural competency initiatives to support diversity, equity and inclusion in the classroom and workplace
Strong oral and written communication skills
Significant recent professional development germane to the position
Commitment to and facility with integration of technology in the service of student learning
Demonstrated knowledge of safeguarding practices and experience supporting student welfare
Desirable qualifications/experience:
Experience within a standards-based curriculum
Experience/knowledge of integrated and/or thematic instruction
Experience in advisory, mentoring or delivering social-emotional learning curricula that support adolescent wellbeing

Drive is a high risk / high harm domestic abuse perpetration intervention. Its sole aim is to reduce the risk posed by those using high levels of harm towards family members and / or (ex) partners. The role
As Drive Service Manager, you will lead the delivery and development of the DRIVE service working with high-risk perpetrators of domestic abuse. You'll manage and support a team of frontline practitioners, ensuring the service is safe, effective and delivers meaningful behaviour change while prioritising victim safety. About you
You'll have experience of managing teams within domestic abuse, criminal justice, safeguarding or a related field, with a strong understanding of working with high-risk individuals and managing complex risk. You'll be confident leading staff, providing effective supervision, and ensuring services are delivered safely, consistently and to a high standard.
You'll have experience of working in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies, building effective relationships and contributing to multi-agency responses. Strong organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to balance operational demands with strategic priorities are essential. Shaftesbury is happy to consider fundraisers or officer level candidates looking to step up into their first manager level role. At present this role doesn’t line manage, so management experience is not necessary. Then join us to lead a team of specialist caseworkers, supporting survivors to address practical issues and empower them in their recovery!
The RISE Team Leader will be a skilled independent domestic and sexual violence advocate who will oversee a small team of case and group workers as well as managing Helpline volunteers. She will be a qualified IDVA and ISVA or be willing to complete the accreditations in the first six months in post.
She will hold a caseload of her own and coordinate a team providing support and guidance through a range of interventions and support offers working closely with an experienced Manager and other Team Leaders. Together with their team they will build, maintain and create links to deliver survivor-focused, trauma aware/ responsive support to help survivors and their family to cope and recover.
They will be the lead on developing, implementing and coordinating the Helpline, Casework and Projects with day-to-day practice oversight of staff and volunteers. The Team Leader will work co-operatively and flexibly alongside RISE colleagues providing expert input and contributing to the effective running of the organisation as a whole.

Job purpose: Provide a range of administration services to enable the Trust to operate its day-to-day activities, management and governance processes effectively.
Roles and responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the job are:
· Provide administrative support to the Programme Manager, Trustees and Youth Board

Join The Borrow Foundation and help improve children's oral health worldwide. We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead our international grant-making programmes, build strategic partnerships and work with organisations including the World Health Organization to reduce oral health inequalities.
ROLE
The Programme Manager will play a key, hands-on operational role in the development, delivery, and management of the Foundation’s grant-making portfolio, including collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), advocacy initiatives, and support for oral health meetings and events. Working closely with the Director of Finance and Operations (DFO), trustees, grant applicants, research partners, and funded organisations, the postholder will lead the coordination and management of the grant programmes.
In addition to oversing grant programme delivery, the role will play a key part in promoting the Foundation’s research activities, funding opportunities, partnerships, and impact across the oral health, research, charitable, and wider stakeholder communities.
