The role
Job Title: Youth & Community Engagement Officer
Part Time: 8- 12 days per month
Salary: £28-30,000 pro rata
Reporting to: Operations Director
Job Purpose:
This role will lead the development and delivery of Allergy UK’s youth engagement initiative. We are beginning several exciting new projects focused on engaging young people who live with allergy and providing opportunities for them to have a voice and support them in raising awareness of the issues that affect their life. We are seeking young people’s participation and co-production in all activities we develop to support their needs. The role of Youth Engagement Officer will be to engage with young people across the UK, to ensure that they have the opportunities and support to shape and influence Allergy UK’s programmes and activities for young people living with allergy.
The Youth & Community Engagement Officer will engage with children and young people across the UK to ensure they are meaningfully involved and supported to influence Allergy UK’s services, campaigns and resources. This includes creating safe, inclusive spaces where young people and parents and carers feel listened to and empowered to share their experiences.
The successful individual will develop youth opportunities that build confidence, skills and life chances, while supporting children and young people living with allergy to overcome the social, emotional and practical barriers they may face. A key part of the role will be working collaboratively with parents and carers to ensure their voice inform decision making and design.
As a Youth & Community Engagement Officer, you will have experience of working positively with children, young people and families, and have a proactive, organised and confident approach.
Strong organisation skills and initiative are essential as you will be the lead Allergy UK’s youth provision.
You will coordinate a range of activities on-line and in-person engagement sessions, blogs, podcasts, learning opportunities and digital activities all rooted in co-production principles. You will work as part of a wider team to engage children, young people and parents and carers, to amplify unheard voices and stories, and help drive positive change for families living with allergy.
The post is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund until September 2028. As a grant- funded role, the postholder will be responsible for the effective delivery, monitoring and evaluation of agreed grant outcome and KPI’s, ensuring full compliance with funder requirements and reporting deadlines.
Your main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Key Accountabilities:
· Design, develop and deliver youth-led and family-centred services across three core areas:
o Continue to design and deliver youth-led services with the existing 18–25 youth group for people living with allergies
o Recruit, , launch and establish a new youth group for 13–17-year-olds living with allergies
o Recruit, launch and establish a support and engagement group for parents and carers of children and young people living with allergies
· Plan, project manage and deliver engaging co-production projects, building positive, trusted relationships with children, young people and parents and carers, and promoting meaningful participation.
· Create opportunities for young people to have a strong and influential voice, supporting them to engage in Allergy UK’s awareness- raising and public affairs activity to influence policy, improve services and drive change.
· Establish, develop and lead the Allergy UK Youth Forum, ensuring it is representative, inclusive and impactful.
· Support and develop young people to become champions and ambassadors for Allergy UK, building confidence, leadership skills and advocacy capability.
· Work collaboratively with a wide range of organisations including but not exclusively schools, local government, health and youth services and voluntary sector organisations.
· Develop and deliver training and development resources to support young people’s skills, understanding and personal development.
· Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately, secularly, and within agreed timescales, in line with contractual, safeguarding and reporting requirements
· Work closely with the Operations Director and wider staff team, providing insight and advice on issues affecting children, young people and families living with allergy.
· Develop and embed effective youth engagement procedures and best practice, ensuring a consistent, safe and inclusive approach across all activities..
· Take responsible for the health and safety including risk assessments and reviews for all youth and family engagement activities, ensuring safety and wellbeing of participants.
· Act as a key role holder for safeguarding, ensuring that the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and vulnerable adults is central to all youth and family engagement activity. This includes promoting a strong safeguarding culture, adhering to Allergy UK’s safeguarding policies and procedures, identifying and escalating safeguarding concerns appropriately, completing and contributing to risk assessments, and working closely with designated safeguarding leads and relevant staff to ensure safe, inclusive and compliant practice at all times.
· Maintain accurate and confidential records, ensuring the secure and compliant recording of sensitive data on Allergy UK’s Salesforce database in line with data protection requirements.
Person Specification
This role involves regular contact with children, young people and potentially vulnerable adults. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, in accordance with organisational safeguarding policies.

Education & Qualifications
Degree or equivalent and demonstrable/relevant work experience.
Essential Experience
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with young people
· Experience of directly engaging children and young people (ideally across different age groups, e.g. 13–25)
· Experience of developing and delivering engaging youth engagement opportunities, following best practice, and adopting methods of co-production
· Experience of planning, delivering and evaluating projects or programmes
· Coordinating online and inperson activities (e.g. groups, workshops, forums, events)

Through our befriending and group activities, we bring companionship, connection and meaningful relationships to care home residents across Bedford and the surrounding area.

About Friends for Life Bedfordshire
We are a Bedford-based charity working to address the social isolation of older residents in Bedfordshire’s care homes.
Founded in 2007, we have grown from a small local initiative to a registered charity with c90 volunteers supporting more than 30 care homes across Bedford Borough. In the last year, over 1,100 care home residents received our services.
The Role
This is a pivotal role for the charity. It is key to the delivery of our business plan and growth aspirations.
You will take ownership of fundraising and income generation, ensuring we have the resources to sustain and grow our impact.
You will lead on grant fundraising whilst also developing community and individual giving, and delivering engaging fundraising events.
This is a hands-on role in a small organisation, so you will have real ownership and visibility. You will shape our fundraising strategy and directly influence how many residents we can reach.
This role is suited to someone who is both strategic and practical — someone who can develop the fundraising strategy and the plan to deliver this, but is equally comfortable writing applications, building relationships and making things happen.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Fundraising
- Identify and secure funding from trusts, foundations and statutory bodies
- Write high-quality, compelling funding applications
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of funding opportunities

Community & Individual Fundraising
- Grow income through local partnerships, supporters and community initiatives

About You

Spires was established as a response to homelessness in the late 1980s. Part 1: The Role
The Women’s Service Coordinator will manage Spires’ Women’s service offer. The Women’s Service offer comprises of:
- Spires-Street Link, which is a dedicated nighttime outreach service to support women who are involved in street-based sex working. This includes follow up work, casework, and multi-agency working.
- Centre based support for women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. This also includes casework and supporting Spires’ Housing and Homelessness team.
Part 2: Key duties and responsibilities
- Manage a small team of support workers and a team of dedicated volunteers.
- Oversee the delivery of effective assessment and allocation for clients.
- Oversee the effectiveness of casework across the Women’s Service.
- Directly support a small caseload of clients.
- Manage the team’s rota to ensure sufficient coverage across activities.
- Represent Spires to external organisations, developing and maintaining good working relationships with other professionals, community organisations, and statutory agencies.
- Manage the teams’ outcomes and data to produce reports for funders and stakeholders.
- Support Spires’ fundraising manager in making applications where required.
Part 3: Person specification
Essential experience:
- Experience of working with women with complex support needs (including substance addiction, mental health needs, domestic violence, no recourse to public funds and sex working) .

Part 4: Summary of terms and conditions of service
Probation: This post is subject to a 6-month probationary period.
Notice: This post is subject to one week’s notice during the probationary period and a six-week notice period thereafter.
Annual leave: The annual leave entitlement is 35 days per year pro rata, made up of eight bank and public holidays and 27 days annual leave. The 27 days annual leave is normally split between 24 ‘bookable’ days and three closure days that fall between Christmas and the New Year.
Pension: The Spires Centre operates an Opt-out group pension arrangement and currently contributes 5% of annual salary for those who qualify. Personal contributions are currently 3%.

- Assist communities to identify the nature and extent of affordable local housing need in their community including, where appropriate, through a Housing Needs Survey.
- Assist communities to identify a deliverable site for development of affordable housing and/or secure affordable housing as part of market led schemes.
- Build collaborative partnerships with key partners to provide a clear pathway to a successful planning application and delivery. SUMMARY
Position Title: Head of Programmes (CMDP) Mat-Cover

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
1.You will be responsible for the Changemaker Development Programme (CMDP) including but limited to:
- Working with the Associate Director of Programmes and Associate Director of Partnerships to coordinate programmes planning and delivery timelines for CMDP.
- Managing cross programmatic projects to standardise processes and practices in the Programmes Department
- Designing and developing the recruitment process for Alumni to join the CMDP and create a targeted recruitment strategy to grow the Alumni Changemaker pool
- Managing the monitoring and evaluation of the programme including quantitative and qualitative data, and facilitate the process of ongoing learning being integrated into the programme
- Working with Programmes Leadership Team to coordinate and deliver a holistic safeguarding, wellbeing and pastoral care strategy across TAA’s work with young people
- Responsible for holding the CMDP budget and ensuring that it is managed and spent in accordance with TAA expenses procedure e.g. signing off expenses up to £1,000 expenditure and escalating to Director of Programmes and Partnerships for amounts exceeding this.
2.You will be accountable for the learning design and delivery to include but not limited:
- Leading the design of the CMDP curriculum to agreed TAA standards engaging key stakeholders, e.g. alumni, programmes team, external partners
- Supporting Alumni Changemakers to design, deliver and facilitate social justice workshops in line with established pedagogical approaches at TAA.
- Leading the development of learning journeys for Alumni Changemakers.
- Working during school holidays for camps, and in the evenings to accommodate school hours, which may include regular evening work and unsocial hours during programme delivery.
3.You will be the port of call for the Changemakers and Community Organisers who will help run the programme, and a regular and trusted individual whom the young people know and can connect with. To include but not limited to:
- You will support the Changemakers in co-creating this space with young people in the community and helping them identify ways to bring participants along into the membership.
- You will be managing the Changemakers who are delivering the programme - and updating both the Community Director and Director of Programmes and Partnerships on their progress and development.
- You will hold the budget for the programme - keeping track of expenses and thinking through ways to keep costs down.
- You will ensure that you provide accurate and timely financial information to the budget lead for your work and to the Finance, HR & Operations team
- You will be responsible for holding relationships with Alumni Changemakers and holding the relational culture of the CMDP to ensure we have a brilliant atmosphere for learning, nurturing and growth for Alumni Changemakers, including but not limited to:
- Taking responsibility for the pastoral care of Alumni Changemakers on placement including building the pastoral care approach with the Programmes Leadership Team.
- Taking responsibility for building and nurturing key relationships with fellow social justice activists, organisers and educators in the sector who can support, challenge and inspire our Alumni Changemakers.
- Representing TAA at any applicable events, in the press and in activist circles
- Building and nurturing relationships with alumni/members.
4.You will be accountable for the learning design and development of the Leadership Development Framework. To include but not limited to:
- Designing and developing a cohesive, high-quality curriculum aligned to TAA’s strategic goals and organisational values
- Establishing and embedding a clear pedagogical approach that underpins all delivery and supports effective facilitation
- Creating structured learning journeys that support the progression and development of young people as leaders
- Developing and maintaining facilitator guides, resources and tools to ensure consistency and quality across delivery
- Working with staff and members to ensure curriculum and pedagogy are effectively understood and implemented
- Reviewing delivery, gathering feedback and insights from members, and iterating on the curriculum and approach to continuously improve quality and impact
5.You will ensure that your programmatic activities are managed as well-oiled machines through pulling in the right people at the right time and ensuring that key milestones are met:
- Responsible for ensuring effective departmental administration including delegating key administrative tasks to relevant staff
- You will be working with the Director of Programme and Partnerships, Director of Community, the Safeguarding and Wellbeing Team and others to think about the safety, safeguarding, and wellbeing needs of the young people participating in the programme and beyond.
- You will ensure safeguarding and Health and Safety standards are met across the programmes team and other critical policies and practices within the organisation, working proactively with relevant leads to understand requirements and operationalise effectively
- You will contribute towards risk management standards and ensure Health and Safety standards are met across programmatic and community team
- You will be responsible for managing and overseeing a suite of behind-the-scenes systems, databases and resources which comply with UKGDPR, safeguarding and other legal requirements.

About the role
Sense has a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our team as our Stories Lead. This is a full time, hybrid role, working 37.5 hours per week at either our office in Kings Cross, London or Selly Oak, Birmingham.
This role sits within Sense’s newly established social change directorate, supporting the directorate’s wider purpose of breaking down barriers alongside disabled people with complex needs. The role is closely connected to the organisation’s co-production area of work and supports organisational wide research and insight gathering from people with lived experience. It also works closely with the fundraising and marketing directorate to deliver storyteller needs and requirements to support their strategic objectives.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and growing Sense’s storyteller portfolio, made up of disabled people with complex needs and their families, volunteers, supporters and staff. You will play a leading role in ensuring that the most compelling stories feature across the charity’s integrated influencing, and fundraising and marketing activity to drive engagement, lasting change, and sustainable income. You will also champion, steward and promote storytelling internally and externally, working with teams across Sense to identify new storytellers and support colleagues to facilitate story collection, and will be responsible for building trusted relationships with contributors, ensuring they have a positive experience throughout.
Key responsibilities
- Manage Sense’s stories database and play a leading role in ensuring the most compelling stories feature across our media, campaigns, fundraising and wider communications and content.

The Role
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team, with a strong record of developing and stewarding successful and trusted relationships with corporate and community partners, securing income, volunteering support, increased awareness and pro bono support. Ideally from a fundraising background, we are also happy to receive applications from individuals currently working in Sales & Marketing and Account Management.
Working closely with our Corporate Partnerships Manager, this role will have responsibility for growing fundraised income, with an emphasis on developing corporate partnerships and encouraging partners to get involved with events. The role holder will play a key part in helping secure the ambitious targets for FareShare Midlands new Birmingham hub in particular as well as supporting the wider fundraising team in achieving fundraising targets.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Identify, secure and develop new corporate partnership opportunities, focusing on, employee fundraising, Charity of the Year partnerships, sponsorship opportunities and donations.
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Fundraising, Corporate Fundraising Manager and volunteering team to seek out and develop new business opportunities through networking and prospecting to generate income from our Team Volunteering Days at our Birmingham Hub (soon to be rolled out to our other depots), to include the Community Kitchen and Conference and Collaboration room hire.
- Maximise account management and stewardship activities with our existing portfolio of corporate contacts including face to face meetings and presentations, reviews and updates to drive incremental revenue as appropriate.
- Play a proactive role in researching and prospecting potential corporate and group supporters to then plan and execute engaging approaches in support of delivering income from our challenge events.

JOB PURPOSE
As an Employment Coach, you will be part of a dedicated team supporting people accessing our services to move towards their employment, education, training and volunteering goals. You will manage a caseload and provide tailored one-to-one support, working with service users to build their skills and confidence, and support them into employment using a strengths-based approach. The role also involves supporting group activities and workshops that help clients take positive steps towards employment. In addition, you will develop and maintain strong relationships with a range of partner organisations that offer employment, education and training opportunities. Through meaningful engagement and guidance, you will support clients to identify opportunities that align with their goals and help them progress towards sustainable employment.
MAIN TASKS

To provide a safe, inclusive and welcoming service for those who are seeking to gain employment opportunities, including exploring goals and available support.

To assess and support a one-to-one caseload of clients to develop and review tailored self-development plans, with clear actions that encourage personal responsibility, ambition, and progression towards employment through suitable opportunities and meaningful activities.

To support clients with job searches and career development through CV writing, job applications and interview preparation.

To encourage ambition and positivity using a strengths-based approach, while working with clients to understand their individual support needs and support progression into employment.

To undertake employer engagement activities and support the planning and delivery of job fairs and workshops.

To participate in Employment, Training and Volunteering drop-in services and events to allow varied points of access for clients to engage with support, including at the Passage Resource Centre, at Passage accommodation projects and with external partners.

About the role
Reporting in to the Central Supporter Engagement Advisor, the Church Engagement Support Officer will focus on inspiring and engaging churches, Christian Aid groups, and the public across UK to support Christian Aid’s mission.
The post-holder will build and maintain relationships, maximising participation in appeals and campaigns, providing fundraising support, and managing feedback to uphold Christian Aid's reputation, and will ensure donations and gifts are processed efficiently in the CRM system to meet donor requirements and maintain accurate supporter information for effective contact, building relationships based on trust and openness.
Some of the main responsibilities of the Church Engagement Support Officer include:
- Build trust-based relationships with supporters to deepen their connection with Christian Aid’s mission, proactively engaging with new and lapsed churches to inspire them to give, act, and pray.
- Provide high quality stewardship to supporters making donations, processing payments quickly, effectively, and accurately, and manage associated data with care and diligence.

BGCI is seeking an experienced, committed and strategic Director of Conservation to provide leadership across the organisation’s policy, conservation prioritisation and conservation action portfolio. The postholder will translate BGCI’s 2026–2030 Strategic Framework into coherent programmes, partnerships, monitoring systems and resource mobilisation, ensuring that BGCI’s work delivers measurable outcomes for plant conservation, ecological restoration and community resilience.
