Citizens UK
Citizens UK is the UK’s biggest, most diverse and most effective people-powered alliance. We bring communities and local organisations together to work on issues that matter; from campaigning for zebra crossings on dangerous roads, to reforming the immigration system, to the Living Wage campaign. We have a track record of winning change through hundreds of local and national campaigns. We know everyday people have the ability to shape the world around them. We believe that through developing local leaders, we can drive nationwide change and create community-led solutions to big and small problems.
Living Wage Foundation
The Living Wage movement began in 2001, after Citizens UK brought together communities in East London to discuss poverty and low pay. The campaign grew in momentum and soon required a mechanism to recognise employers who wanted to join the movement, which saw the establishment of the Living Wage Foundation in 2011.
Still part of Citizens UK today, the Living Wage Foundation continues to work with community organisations to make sure the voices of both workers and businesses are part of the Living Wage movement. We now work with over 16,000 employers, benefitting half a million people and winning over £3bn of better wages for people who need it most.
Citizens UK works with a broad base of institutions across the political spectrum. At the Living Wage Foundation, we take the same deliberately broad-based approach and accredit all organisations who pay the real Living Wage to their directly and indirectly employed staff and are committed to tackling in work poverty. As a team we work across a range of industries and sectors to achieve this mission. We seek pragmatic coalitions to progress specific campaigns, and partnership around a particular issue such as Living Wage, does not imply an endorsement of broader purpose and policies.

The role will support the objectives of the Living Wage Foundation and Citizens UK by communicating our work to a wide range of audiences, including senior business leaders and politicians, through a mix of communications methods: social media, newsletters, media outlets, website and internal communications channels. The role will be predominantly focused on work and wages activity through the Living Wage Foundation, but there will be opportunities to support cross-Citizens UK communications activity including for example: campaigns on housing, refugees and more.
This post will be joining a Communications team that spans media, digital communications, research and events, with colleagues based across the UK with monthly in-person team meetings.
The post holder will support the delivery of our media and press office activity, including monitoring media coverage, supporting with journalist enquiries, and helping to develop proactive press campaigns to build awareness of the Living Wage Foundation’s work. They will also support the creation of written and visual content across our channels and help monitor and manage our social media presence on a day-to-day basis. The role is also responsible for key communications with our network of over 16,000 accredited Living Wage Employers, including our monthly newsletters, blogs, videos and case studies to celebrate our network of accredited employers
The position would suit an applicant with strong written and communication skills, with some experience of working within a communications team and a passion for press work, social media and content creation.
We don’t expect you to have experience of all areas of this job. Training will be provided to help you develop into this role.

The Diocese of Truro is home to 305 church buildings — extraordinary places of worship, history, community and culture. Each one tells a story about the people of Cornwall and the faith that shaped our landscape. We are committed to supporting the volunteers and clergy who care for these much‑loved spaces, ensuring they remain sustainable, welcoming and fit for mission.
As part of our ambitious Buildings Strategy, supported by the Church of England’s Buildings for Mission programme, we are expanding our capacity and seeking a Church Buildings Support Officer (CBSO) to join our Buildings, Environment and Land Team. A second CBSO will be recruited later in the year, and between the roles we aim to cover two specialist areas:
- Fundraising and grant support (particularly heritage and capital grants)
- Community engagement and enterprise development
We welcome applicants who bring strength in at least one of these areas. All CBSOs will also provide general fabric and funding advice.
As a CBSO, you will be an advisor, problem‑solver and encourager — working alongside parishes to help them repair, adapt and make the best possible use of their buildings. You’ll support everything from maintenance plans to major capital projects, helping churches access funding, specialist guidance and community partnerships.
You will play a key role in ensuring church buildings are well cared for, environmentally responsible, and equipped for worship, ministry and wider community life. The right person for this role will understand buildings in community settings and how they are used. They will be interested in heritage buildings and also know about, or want to learn about, churches and how to care for them. We need a strong communicator who can adjust to different audiences, engaging people in the cause rather than bulldoze them. The skills to bring people together to collaborate are key. Experience of developing and managing projects with community groups/faith groups and fundraising, as well as experience in budget management is important.
Ideally, we seek someone with a qualification and experience in a relevant area, but we are very happy to invest in the right person and can offer a range of training and support.
This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact as part of a unique organisation that prides itself on being a supportive employer. At the Diocese of Truro, we value work-life balance and employee wellbeing and are committed to supporting your development. We offer additional benefits such as flexible working, up to 26 days holiday plus bank holidays, a range of wellbeing activities and the Church of England Pension Scheme with 9-15% employer contributions. More information on this here.
The closing date for applications is midnight on 16 March 2026 with interviews being held on 25 March 2026 in Truro.
This role has been made possible with support from a grant from the Church of England.
We welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, we would particularly welcome applications from those with a disability, or from a UK minority ethnic background, as these groups are currently under-represented in our staff.
We will be a diocese that reaches out to children, young people, and families. We will be a diocese that is good news for the most disadvantaged.

We are the only charity in the UK that offers support and information to, and represents the needs of, children and families following a diagnosis of single ventricle heart disease (half a working heart). LHM is there to support the children as they grow to adults, and their families, through their hopes and aspirations. We believe all of our members deserve the chance to be able to fulfil their individual potential. Our aims are to:

Reduce fear by offering patients, parents, siblings, and the extended family a greater opportunity to understand the diagnosis and treatment paths available.
Reduce confusion and a lack of understanding by producing and supplying for free, user focused information that supports and aids understanding from the time of diagnosis, through treatments and into life at home.
Raise a greater awareness within Medical, Educational, Social and Governmental circles of the needs of children, and their families, as they travel through every stage of their lives.
