About the role
As a Bank Retail Assistant, you will step in to support the running of the shop as required, including taking the lead in the absence of the Shop Manager or Assistant Managers. In these situations, you will supervise and support a team of volunteers to maximise sales and deliver an excellent customer experience. You will help ensure the shop is well-presented, safe, and operates efficiently, maintaining high standards in line with legal requirements and Shooting Star Children’s Hospices (SSCH) policies and procedures.
Please note: This role requires travel across the Shooting Star retail network, with locations across Surrey and South West London, as well as our Distribution Unit. You must be able and willing to work across multiple sites to support operational and staffing needs. Flexibility is essential, as occasional weekend working may also be required.
About you
You are a proactive and organised individual with the confidence to lead a team in the absence of the Manager or Assistant Manager. This role requires experience of working in a retail and/or charity retail environment, along with supervising or coordinating teams, ideally including volunteers. You will bring strong leadership and communication skills, enabling you to delegate tasks effectively, motivate others, and create a positive, inclusive working environment. You are passionate about delivering excellent customer service and confident in handling queries and complaints in a professional manner, ensuring a safe and welcoming shop environment at all times.
You will also have an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail. You will ensure donations are processed efficiently, stock is well merchandised, and financial procedures are followed accurately. With a flexible, hands-on approach, you thrive on supporting others and are committed to driving shop performance and maintaining high standards in line with policies and procedures.

About the role
As our Global Accounts Receivable Assistant, you’ll be part of our Finance team, helping to maintain timely and accurate recording of supporter income across our global entities. This is a key role supporting the financial processes that underpin our fundraising activity and wider mission to end factory farming.
As our Global Accounts Receivable Assistant, you’ll be responsible for:
- Recording global donations accurately - Downloading and posting accounts receivable income received for all entity bank accounts, ensuring clear audit trails are maintained.
- Supporting accurate financial coding - Amending postings to reflect accurate campaign codes and responding to reconciliation queries around donation recording.
- Flagging issues and queries appropriately - Escalating refunds, disputes, discrepancies and inaccuracies to the right manager or senior colleague for review.
- Supporting improvements to procedures and systems - Helping to test system and procedural updates, query discrepancies in existing processes and provide constructive feedback where needed.
- Working collaboratively across teams - Building effective working relationships with colleagues across Finance, Marketing and Fundraising, and directing donation queries to the correct point of contact.
About you
To succeed as our Global Accounts Receivable Assistant, you’ll be organised, accurate and proactive, with a positive approach to routine administrative work and a genuine interest in supporting a purpose-led Finance function.
Skills and experience you’ll need to bring:
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications, internet use and confidence using basic Excel formulas.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to set high standards for your own work and maintain accurate records.
- Sound judgement and the confidence to make timely decisions at the appropriate level, including knowing when to escalate to a manager or Financial Controller.
- Good time management skills, with the ability to plan and organise your workload and manage busy periods effectively.
- A collaborative and respectful approach, recognising the perspectives and values of others and communicating positively with colleagues across the organisation.
- A proactive mindset, with a willingness to learn, support agreed processes and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Previous experience working with CRM and ERP Systems such as Salesforce and Netsuite

Hybrid - London based 2 days per week
This exciting role will support the Events and Community team deliver their third-party event portfolio, focusing on the 2027 Double TCS London Marathon. We have one of the biggest marathon teams, with nearly 800 runners, so we are looking for someone to join our busy team to help raise vital funds for young wheelchair users.
The postholder will provide the day to day administrative and operational support in the lead up to London Marathon, including application processing, database management, deliver great customer service and stewardship, as well as supporting with race week logistics. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering one of the UK and Whizz Kidz's largest and most important fundraising events. You will also assist with activities across the wider events portfolio.
The person
You will be an enthusiastic and organised individual with strong administration and communication skills. Previous experience in an administrative or fundraising environment would be an advantage, but most importantly, you’ll bring a collaborative approach and willingness to learn.
You will have a strong eye for detail, great organisational skills and a pro-active approach to work. You will understand the importance of delivering exceptional supporter care and working as part of a team to deliver events.
Key accountabilities
- Be the first point of contact with the Events and Community team, overseeing a shared inbox

IPSEA (Independent Provider of Special Education Advice) is a national charity working to ensure that children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) receive the educational support they are legally entitled to. We are seeking a Policy Manager to lead IPSEA's policy and influencing work to achieve positive change for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families. Working closely with the Chief Executive, Head of Legal and Training, trustees and colleagues across the organisation, you will set strategic policy priorities and develop evidence-based influencing plans that support IPSEA's mission and long-term objectives.
Drawing on insights from our advice and tribunal services, legal expertise and the experiences of families, you will identify systemic issues within the SEND system and develop policy solutions that improve children and young people's access to the support and education to which they are entitled. You will ensure that IPSEA's policy positions are credible, legally robust and informed by the lived experiences of those we support.
You will lead IPSEA's engagement with government, Parliament and other key decision-makers, identifying opportunities to influence legislation, policy and practice at both national and local level. This includes overseeing responses to consultations, parliamentary inquiries and calls for evidence, as well as preparing briefings and strategic advice to support senior-level engagement and advocacy.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across legal, communications, fundraising and training teams, you will ensure IPSEA's policy, campaigning and public affairs activities are aligned and maximise the organisation's impact. You will also monitor developments across the political, legal and policy landscape, helping IPSEA respond proactively to emerging opportunities and challenges affecting the rights of children and young people with SEND.

Who are we looking for?
You will have significant experience in a senior policy and campaigning/public affairs role and have good knowledge of local and national government structure including the legislative process.

Your research and critical thinking skills enable you to analyse policy and data to produce relevant reports and position papers. You have experience of drafting organisation responses to government consultations and parliamentary calls for evidence.

The Ada Lovelace Institute (Ada) is looking to hire an Executive Assistant to provide dedicated support to our Director. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced EA to play a pivotal role in the smooth day-to-day running of Ada's Director's office, working at the heart of a small, mission-driven organisation dedicated to ensuring that data and AI work for people and society.
Between late November/ early December 2026 and July 2027, the Director will be on maternity leave. Role Description
Working under the café manager, the assistant manager is responsible for developing and growing the ministry of King’s Coffee House, assisting the management of the daily operations and volunteer teams.

Job Specification
• Manage day-to-day operations of the coffee house, including opening and closing.

Overview
We are looking for a permanent Finance Assistant to join our Finance team. The Finance team plays a vital role in supporting the Foundation to make a positive impact and improve health and wellbeing across Lambeth and Southwark.
The Finance Assistant will provide essential transactional finance support, with primary responsibility for maintaining supplier records, processing invoices and expenses, supporting payment runs, completing reconciliations, and maintaining accurate transaction data within the finance system.

Key Responsibilities
Transactional Finance
- Maintain accurate supplier records, including validating and updating bank details, contact information and remittance addresses, in line with appropriate controls.
- Monitor the Finance Department mailbox and post in-tray, responding to queries where appropriate and redirecting queries to the relevant colleague when required.
- Process financial transactions, including supplier and customer invoices, staff expenses and credit card expense claims, in accordance with agreed processes, financial controls and deadlines.
- Support the preparation and batching of weekly and ad-hoc payment runs, ensuring that appropriate supporting documentation is attached and transactions are ready for approval.
- Complete bank reconciliations and assist with routine reconciliations of supplier accounts and other control accounts, under the guidance of the Senior Finance Assistant.
