At The Hygiene Bank, our volunteers are the heart and soul of everything we do and achieve as a charity. Without the incredible individuals up and down the country who generously give their time to run our local hygiene bank projects, collecting and distributing essential products through our network of community partners, our charity simply wouldn’t exist.

Thanks to a generous grant, we are now able to recruit a Volunteer Engagement Officer, who will play a pivotal role supporting and empowering this brilliant community. As such, you will play a key part in shaping the future of a national anti-poverty charity working on a key social justice challenge.

About The Hygiene Bank  

Hygiene poverty is not being able to afford many of the everyday hygiene and personal grooming products most of us take for granted. The reality of low income is that it restricts people’s options, leaving us caught between being able to heat our homes, pay the rent, eat, or be clean.  It is washing hair, bodies, faces and clothes in the same cheap washing-up liquid used for the dishes. It is not being able to replace a toothbrush when needed or sharing a toothbrush because one each just isn't an option. It is having to choose between shaving foam and razors or the transport fare to a job interview.  

Hygiene Poverty is the hidden crisis facing the UK. In 2024, The Hygiene Bank published a research report into the incidence and impact of hygiene poverty. It found that over 4.2m adults in the UK are affected by hygiene poverty, that is an additional 1.1m people into hygiene poverty since 2022 - the equivalent of the population of Birmingham.   

Hygiene poverty is not only on the rise, it’ is also undermining the nation’s health: 50% of those affected by hygiene poverty say that it is causing them anxiety or depression. 92% of people affected report that it limits their social interactions with friends and family. 54% of those affected have not gone to the dentist in the last 12 months. But most importantly, it’s putting people in impossible situations. A staggering 69% of adults experiencing hygiene poverty are having to make the difficult decision between paying for essential needs like food and bills or purchasing basic toiletries. 65% of parents affected by hygiene poverty have had to choose between buying hygiene products for themselves or their children.  

At The Hygiene Bank, we believe that everyone deserves to feel clean. That is why our network of projects exists – to give people access to the basics they need.  

About the role  

Reporting into the Operations Manager, this role will be part of the Operations Team and will work closely with the Partnership Managers who support our projects and volunteers on a day-to-day basis. You will provide exceptional service to the volunteer journey and experience, including recruitment, training and engagement.  

Responsibilities (with estimate % of time in role) 

• Recruitment 20%: (Year 1 priority) Design and implement compelling volunteer recruitment campaigns at a national level and for specific areas of the UK - in line with the organisational strategy. 

• Virtual Volunteering 5%: Develop our offer for volunteers to bring their skills, experience and time to the charity outside our local community and project structures, for example coordinating volunteers who can support local projects with social media, or with fundraising. 

• Onboarding 10%: Design and run the volunteer onboarding process, ensuring that all of our volunteers have the tools they need to be successful  

• Governance 10%: (Year 1 priority) Administrate and coordinate the Volunteer Council, a new Committee designed to centre volunteer voice in the charity’s governance  

• Consultation 10%: Further develop the charity’s volunteer survey and create ongoing opportunities for genuine feedback and consultation from our volunteer community to amplify their lived experience 

• Training 20%: (Year 1 priority) Identify areas for training, source and develop these, providing exciting and effective opportunities for our volunteers to develop their skills, practice and impact   

• Resources 10%: (Year 1 priority) Working with the Partnership Managers and other colleagues in the central team, design and develop video and written resources to support the projects in their day-to-day work. The postholder will also hold responsibility for the Volunteer Members’ Area, ensuring content is up to date, relevant and useful 

• Communications 10%:  Working closely with our communications team, collate compelling, informative and engaging content and write the monthly volunteers’ newsletter, ensuring volunteers’ achievements are celebrated, that they understand and are involved in the charity’s development. You will also be responsible for developing new and effective communication channels.  

• Data 5%: through collecting and sharing data on our volunteers and their  experience with the charity, you will report on progress and suggest ways to continuously improve our offer. You will also ensure that data is captured appropriately on our systems.

The role is remote based, but with bi-monthly full organisation team days in London. In addition, we have approximately 4 Operations Team meetings in London or other central UK location. The role will also require regular visits to our community projects and partners so the post holder to understand, support and champion the volunteer experience. 

Experience  

You will have a minimum of two years’ experience in the following:  

• Experience of supporting the volunteer journey, delivering work on the planning, recruitment, induction and engagement of volunteers across a dispersed geography. 

• Volunteer engagement, with a particular emphasis on consulting and convening diverse groups of people in the service of progressing a cause or project  

• Producing high quality written tools and resources, and/or training materials for volunteers based across the UK

• Experience of designing and delivering recognition activities over Volunteers’ Week and other milestones in the volunteer journey 

• Experience of, or willingness to learn a range of communications tools, e.g, Canva, Mailchimp, Wordpress, Google Adwords, etc. 

• Experience or willingness to learn our current CRM system, Salesforce

ABOUT TRAIN

TRAIN is a youth work charity based in South Oxfordshire. We support young people aged 10 to 18 in Didcot, Wallingford and the surrounding areas, especially those who are under-served.

Young people in our communities are facing complex challenges. Mental health struggles, pressures at school, family instability and the impact of poverty can leave them feeling isolated or overlooked. Too often, they don’t have access to the right support at the right time. TRAIN exists to change that. We offer trusted relationships with adults outside positions of authority, safe spaces where young people can be themselves, and opportunities to grow in confidence, make positive choices and feel part of their community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Fundraising and Communications Coordinator, your main focus will be trusts and foundations: researching opportunities, writing persuasive applications and producing clear reports. You’ll also play a part in growing support from corporates, community fundraising, individual donors and major gifts, helping to build a broader base of income over time.

Alongside this, you’ll lead on communications. That means keeping our website and social channels current, producing supporter newsletters, and sharing our story more widely through PR and campaigns. You’ll help make sure the difference TRAIN makes for young people is seen and understood by funders, partners and the local community.

It’s a hands-on role, well-suited to someone who enjoys writing, building relationships and juggling different projects. You don’t need to be an experienced fundraiser — we’re open to people with transferable skills, whether from corporate, public or third sector backgrounds. What matters most is that you can communicate clearly, organise your workload, and are motivated by making a difference for young people.

You’ll report directly to the CEO and work closely with the rest of the team. This is a part-time role of approximately 30 hours per week, which can be worked flexibly. The role is based in Didcot with hybrid working, but for the right candidate we will consider a fully remote arrangement.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

• Salary: £28,598 - £31,022 FTE (pro-rated, depending on experience)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising (approx. 80%)

• Pipeline and planning – work with the CEO to keep a clear fundraising plan, with trusts and foundations as the main focus alongside manageable growth in corporates, community, and individual giving.
• Trusts and foundations – research prospects, build a live pipeline, and write strong, tailored bids. Prepare accurate budgets and gather evidence from the team to strengthen proposals.
• Reporting and stewardship – deliver timely reports, thank funders and donors well, and manage renewals and uplift opportunities.
• Relationship development – nurture links with local businesses, community groups and potential major donors. Prepare simple proposals and support fundraising events or activities as needed.
• Systems and compliance – maintain accurate records of applications, deadlines and outcomes. Ensure fundraising activity is compliant with GDPR and charity regulations.

Communications (approx. 20%)

• Supporter communications – produce engaging newsletters, updates and thank-yous that connect donors and partners with TRAIN’s impact.
• Digital presence – update the website and social media channels with accurate, timely content that reflects TRAIN’s work and values.
• PR and profile – share stories with local media, partners and networks. Ensure TRAIN’s messaging is clear, consistent and accessible.
• Community engagement – promote TRAIN’s profile, youth offer, brand and presence in the community.

General

• Work closely with the CEO to align fundraising and comms priorities.
• Collaborate with youth work staff to gather stories, quotes and data that demonstrate TRAIN’s impact.
• Represent TRAIN at meetings and community events.
• Contribute to the life of a small, collaborative team.

We don’t expect you to have a long career in fundraising behind you. What matters most is that you can write clearly and persuasively, build relationships with people, and organise your workload to meet deadlines. Essential qualities

Main purpose of post
This role is to lead and be responsible for the development, management and
delivery of WPCC’s high quality, professional counselling and complementary
therapy services for adults, and for children and young people, at the Cavendish
Centre and in outreach locations. This role supports the holistic well-being of
service users, ensuring the services are safe, effective, accessible, and aligned
with the charity’s values and objectives

 To lead and be responsible for the delivery of effective service provision,
including outreach services, and to maintain the ethos and high
standard of the supportive care offered.
 To lead a service that provides one-to-one and small group
complementary therapy services and one-to-one counselling for around
1,000 beneficiaries per annum, including outreach provision in hospitals.
 To be responsible for the management of a complementary therapy and
counselling services budget of around £500,000 per annum.
Leadership & Service Development
 Lead and develop complementary therapy and counselling services to
meet the needs of clients, families, and carers.
 Plan and schedule timetables and freelance staffing rotas to maximise
the availability of counselling and complementary therapies within
available budgets, maximising freelancer availability and efficient
appointment scheduling.
 Evaluate and enhance service delivery in line with best practices, clinical
guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
 Identify and implement service improvements, based on user feedback,
evidence-based practice, and sector developments.
 Work effectively with the Head of Cancer Services and other service leads
to ensure counselling and complementary therapies are an integral part
of the wider WPCC service offer to people affected by cancer.
 To be part of a service lead team which can provide leadership cover
across all services to address day-to-day operational issues, including
safeguarding cover (for adult and children’s services) and maintenance
of service availability.
Freelance therapist management
 Recruit, support, and manage a multidisciplinary team of freelance
counsellors, therapists, and volunteers.
 Ensure therapists delivering these services are of a suitable quality, and
have up-to-date and relevant accreditation/professional registration to practice, including clinical supervision arrangements, insurance, CPD
and DBS checks.
 Provide professional oversight of freelance therapists ensuring all
professional standards are met
 Ensure all team members adhere to safeguarding, clinical governance,
and confidentiality standards.
 To ensure therapists delivering these services are of a suitable quality
and have up-to-date and relevant accreditation/professional registration
to practice, including clinical supervision arrangements, insurance, CPD
and DBS checks.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
 Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ethical standards and legal
requirements in counselling and complementary therapy (e.g. BACP,
CNHC, HCPC).
 Oversee risk assessments, safeguarding processes, and incident
reporting procedures.
 Monitor and report on service performance using agreed metrics and
impact evaluation tools.
Client Care & Support
 Ensure services are inclusive, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and
tailored to individual needs.
 Act as a senior point of contact for complex cases, ensuring appropriate
pathways and referrals.
 Maintain a client-centred approach, fostering dignity, respect, and
empowerment.
Partnerships & Engagement
 Build and maintain relationships with health professionals, community
organisations, and funders.
 Liaise as required with external stakeholders, such as healthcare
professionals, safeguarding teams, education providers, social services,
and third sector partners.
 Promote the service through outreach, events, and stakeholder
engagement.
 Contribute to grant applications, reports, and impact assessments to
support sustainability and growth.
Governance, Administration & Reporting
 Manage budgets for therapy and counselling services, ensuring costeffectiveness.
 Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with GDPR and data
protection policies.
 Ensure suitable collection of activity data and produce service activity
and evaluation reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Therapy Lead will play a vital role in leading counselling and complementary
therapies service, and will help us to deliver our vision: a better life for those living

Purpose of the job:

We are seeking a results-driven and ambitious Individual Giving Manager to lead and grow our individual giving programme from the ground up. This role will deliver inspiring campaigns that boost engagement and drive unrestricted income, helping Thames21 achieve its mission. You’ll join a successful and ambitious fundraising team to support the charity’s growth.

Main duties and responsibilities

Campaigns & Income Growth

• Plan, establish, and deliver Individual Giving at Thames21 to maximise unrestricted income.
• Develop and deliver digital marketing campaigns (social media, e-newsletters) to acquire, retain, and upgrade donors.
• Design and deliver major campaigns such as Christmas/end-of-year giving and Earth Raise in Year 1.
• Produce high-impact, supporter-focused copy for appeals, landing pages, forms, and stewardship content.
• Maintain brand-consistent collateral, templates, and thank-you materials.
• Collaborate across teams to identify IG opportunities and create engaging stories backed by impact data.

• Achieve growth from five- to six-figures over 3 years

• Use test-and-learn approaches to refine campaign performance and donor engagement.

 

 

Supporter Journeys & Stewardship

• Ensure Donorfy is configured to support individual giving, maximise income, and strengthen relationships, in consultation with the CRM Manager.
• Design and implement personalised supporter journeys via digital channels (e.g. Mailchimp), with timely follow-ups and tailored messaging.
• Improve retention and upgrade rates using targeted communications and segmentation.
• Ensure high-quality donor touchpoints align with organisational messaging.
• Provide stewardship for community and sports fundraising
• Collaborate on planning and delivery of donor and supporter stewardship events and initiatives.

Data, Insight & Compliance

• Conduct audience research with Communications and Engagement teams to inform campaigns.
• Use segmented data to deliver robust analysis and guide decisions.
• Track and report on KPIs, income, ROI, and retention.
• Maintain GDPR/PECR compliance and fundraising best practice.
• Liaise with Finance on acknowledgements, reporting, and Gift Aid.
• Stay ahead of sector trends and apply new ideas to improve performance.
• Collaborate with the CRM Manager to ensure data integrity and effective segmentation.

The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) is recruiting a Senior Policy and Campaigns Adviser to join its policy and campaigns team in the new year.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the RCP as the organisation seeks to finalise and implement its new strategy.

The RCP represents around 40,000 members and fellows in the UK and internationally. Our members and fellows work across over 30 medical specialties such as cardiology, neurology, infectious diseases, geriatric and respiratory and acute internal medicine -working in hospital and community settings.

With the 10 Year Health Plan outlining three shifts for health policy in England, the senior policy and campaigns adviser will play a critical role in developing policy positions rooted in physician experience so we can effectively influence the national agenda. You will develop and deliver policy work on a range of high-profile topics such as the NHS workforce – including issues facing early career doctors – health inequalities, digital and AI and clinical research.

You’ll need a sharp eye for detail and be able to quickly and accurately interpret and communicate complex information. You will have experience of analysing policy developments in the external landscape and making recommendations for how to evolve and progress policy positioning in response. You will be as comfortable speaking to officials and other stakeholders as you are writing policy reports, consultation submissions and briefings.

You will brief the president, senior officers and senior staff and play an active role in engaging external stakeholders in NHS systems and the wider sector. You will provide lead support to an RCP advisory group, working closely with the chair to set and deliver a workplan.

The policy and campaigns team – and the wider communications, policy and research directorate – is a fast paced, collaborative and innovative environment. You will help us shape our objectives and continuously improve how we work.

• Developing and delivering policy work across a range of topics within the RCP’s policy portfolio.

Information Officer

Cystic Fibrosis Trust is looking for an Information Officer to join our busy and supportive team at an exciting time of rapid change in cystic fibrosis and the information landscape. Changes in clinical care, treatments and the experiences and needs of people with CF have prompted a dramatic increase in the breadth and volume of information we need to create. At the same time, AI, disinformation and misinformation mean accurate, trusted information is more important than ever.

To navigate the changing landscape of CF and health information, you’ll need editorial expertise and a commitment to engaging with and empowering the cystic fibrosis community through the development of high quality, engaging, accessible information in print and digital formats.

You will develop and maintain our extensive offer of health and other information, including our library of factsheets, special topic information packs, web content and videos aimed at people affected by cystic fibrosis and clinical teams. You will make sure that our resources meet the needs of our target audiences through sensitive and meaningful involvement with people with CF and healthcare professionals.

You will have experience of producing high quality, comprehensive information for people with health conditions from concept through to publication and a knack for making complex health information easy to understand. An understanding of and commitment to the criteria of the Patient Information Forum quality kitemark (the PIF TICK) is integral to the role.

This position will involve working on multiple projects concurrently, juggling priorities, being proactive in your approach and creating reactive information to address emerging issues. Strong organisational and time-management skills are therefore needed, as is the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with colleagues in the team and wider organisation, and a range of external stakeholders.

About the role

With over 80 staff members using Salesforce daily, this role is pivotal in providing expert technical support to CRM users and the wider charity.

The Senior Salesforce Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance and improvement of our Salesforce platform.

You will play a key role in optimising our CRM to support our advice service, programme delivery, training offering and executive stakeholders. Reporting to the Database Manager and working alongside the Junior Salesforce Administrator, you will collaborate with staff across the organisation to ensure Salesforce meets the charity’s mission and evolving operations.

You may want to work remotely or spend 1-2 days in our London office to spend time with colleagues.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage user accounts, profiles, roles, permissions and security settings.

• Maintain data integrity through regular audits, deduplication and validation rules.

• Create and maintain custom objects, fields, page layouts and flows.

• Develop and manage reports and dashboards for various teams.

• Implement automation to streamline business processes.

• Oversee data imports, exports and integrations with other systems (Form Assembly, Engaging Networks). 

• Lead and support Salesforce projects, including new feature rollouts and third-party app integrations.

• Collaborate with the Junior Administrator, Database Manager and other stakeholders to prioritise enhancements.

​Essential experience includes:

• 3+ years of Salesforce administration experience (NPSP experience preferred).
• Salesforce Administrator certification ADM201 (Advanced Admin or other certifications a plus).

• Strong understanding of Salesforce security, automation and reporting.

• Experience with data management, imports/exports and integrations.

• Excellent communication and training skills.

• Excellent level of IT literacy and proficiency with Excel.

• Experience with declarative automation tools.

• The ability to work discreetly and effectively with confidential information; ensuring GDPR principles are observed.

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with outstanding attention to detail.
