The Organisation: YCS (Cwmni Siarad) was originally set up in 2011 to improve access to and meet the needs of groups traditionally under-represented in taking up psychological therapies, through the provision of accessible, evidence-based therapies and other support.   It has been mainly run by volunteers but is now progressing widening its services to provide facilities for private and contractual counselling support.  Any profits from its activities is used to subsidise the provision of counselling support to individuals who have difficulty accessing counselling services for a variety of reasons.  Apart from the delivery of face-to-face counselling in South East Wales, the organisation provides on-line counselling services throughout Wales.    

Job Purpose: To lead, manage and develop YCS Counselling services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, accessible and ethical counselling provision. The postholder will support the safe and effective practice of student and volunteer counsellors, overseeing both the client journey and the placement experience to ensure positive outcomes for clients and a supportive, structured development environment for counsellors.

The role requires a strong understanding of the counselling sector, with the ability to work empathetically with a diverse client group, while supporting and guiding counsellors on placement.

As part of a small charity and an NCPS-recognised service, the postholder will adopt a hands-on approach, contributing directly to the day-to-day running of the service, working flexibly as part of the team, and supporting the practical operation of the therapy centre.

Salary: £30,030 pro rota (£18,018 for 21 hours)

Accountable to: Director

Working Pattern: 21 hours per week. Currently the post will be expected to work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (9am – 5pm) at our Therapy Centre including one late shift per week (11am - 7pm).

Objectives:

(i)Ensure the delivery of safe, ethical and high-quality counselling services in line with professional standards (BACP/NCPS).

(ii) Develop and implement processes that improve client access, flow, and outcomes (e.g. waiting times, engagement, completion).

(iii) Strengthen and expand the volunteer counselling programme, including recruitment, retention, and development.

(iv) Embed a culture of reflective practice, continuous improvement, and clinical excellence.

(v) Contribute to the financial sustainability of the service through efficient resource use and support for income-generating activity.

(vi) Build and maintain partnerships with training providers and referral organisations.

(vii) Monitor and evaluate service outcomes to inform development and reporting.

Service Leadership & Delivery

• Lead the day-to-day delivery of YCS counselling services, ensuring a high-quality, accessible and well-coordinated provision.
• Oversee the full client journey, including referral, assessment, allocation, engagement and endings.
• Manage client assessment appointments, waiting lists and allocation to counsellors to ensure timely and appropriate access.
• Maintain a small caseload, including undertaking client assessments and delivering counselling where required, particularly in more complex cases.
• Contribute to the smooth running of the therapy centre, including opening and closing the premises and working flexibly as part of a small team.
• Work collaboratively as part of a small, values-driven team, contributing to a supportive and flexible working environment.

Student & Volunteer Counsellor Support

• Lead on the recruitment, induction and onboarding of student and volunteer counsellors.
• Provide ongoing guidance and support throughout the placement journey, ensuring a positive, structured and professionally enriching experience.
• Act as a key point of contact for counsellors, supporting them with queries relating to client work, processes and placement requirements.
• Monitor counsellor progress, including review of client logs, attendance and placement requirements, and completion of reports for training providers.
• Support counsellor wellbeing and development through regular communication, informal support and signposting where appropriate.

Clinical Quality & Safe Practice (in collaboration with Clinical Lead)

• Support the delivery of safe, ethical and effective counselling practice in line with NCPS (or equivalent) standards.
• Provide day-to-day guidance to counsellors on managing risk, safeguarding concerns and complex client presentations, escalating to the Clinical Lead where appropriate.
• Act as a safeguarding point of contact during operational hours (e.g. when locking up) and ensure concerns are appropriately recorded and escalated.
• Monitor client engagement, endings and overall service quality, identifying areas for improvement.

Service Development & Partnerships

• Support the Director in the ongoing development and growth of the counselling service.
• Build and maintain relationships with counselling training providers to support the recruitment and retention of placements.
• Contribute to the development of systems, processes and policies that improve service delivery and consistency.

Operations, Systems & Data

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and service records in line with GDPR and confidentiality requirements.
• Use digital systems (including Microsoft 365 and client management databases) to support efficient service delivery, communication and reporting.
• Monitor key service data, including waiting times, engagement and outcomes, supporting reporting requirements.
• Contribute to the effective administration of bookings, cancellations and client communications.

• Build and maintain relationships with local training organisations to increase volunteer placements.
• Participate in operational duties including opening and locking premises and acting as a safeguarding contact when required.
• Maintain accurate data monitoring, reporting, and record-keeping systems.

About the Service

Our counselling service provides trauma-informed, one-to-one counselling for survivors of violence against women and girls (VAWG), offering between 15–20 sessions of therapeutic support. We support survivors across London through community-based services, as well as refuge-based counselling for both children, young people, and adults. Our work is centred on providing safe, empowering, and compassionate support to individuals recovering from abuse and trauma.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will provide high-quality online or face-to-face trauma counselling to survivors of sexual and domestic abuse ages 16+ across London. The successful candidate will work from a person-centred approach with a thorough understanding of the issues prevalent in the gender-based violence sector and understanding of the root causes of gender-based violence. They will be able to provide weekly therapeutic sessions either online (using MS Teams), by telephone, or face-to-face.

About You

Successful applicants will have knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on victim-survivors. You will have strong organisational and time management skills, alongside excellent collaborative working abilities. You will also be empathetic and able to work from a person-centred framework.

It is essential that you have experience using Microsoft Office packages, as well as the ability to use an online case management system. You will also have experience and confidence in delivering counselling online and over the phone, alongside excellent verbal and written communication skills.

You will be qualified to Diploma level and have a minimum of 250 hours’ post-qualification experience providing one-to-one counselling. Successful applicants will be BACP accredited (or equivalent) or working towards accreditation.

The role involves bid writing and review support, conducting research into health and business development models, and exploring integrated funding opportunities. In addition, the Senior Business Development Manager will support the mobilisation of successful tenders, participate in presentations and clarification interviews, and evaluate outcomes to inform future submissions. This role is responsible for delivering person-centred support that promotes wellbeing, independence, and tenancy sustainment for service users with diverse and often complex needs. You will assess referrals, co-produce and review SMART support and risk management plans, and work in partnership with external agencies to ensure access to health, education, employment, and community resources.  

The role involves supporting independent living skills, financial stability, and recovery while preventing relapse or hospitalisation. You will maintain accurate records, uphold organisational policies, and contribute to service monitoring and development. Acting as a positive representative of Hestia, you will build strong relationships with service users, colleagues, and key  stakeholders.

Due to service development, we have a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Volunteer and Participation Co-ordinator to join Barnardo's as part of the East Berkshire Keyworking Service for Children and Young People with Learning Disability and/or Autism. This is a senior support post of essential importance to allow the Dean, Chief Operating Officer, Chapter and committees to develop and maintain an effective system of governance for the Cathedral with adherence to the highest standards of good governance practice. This will include relevant regulatory and legislative requirements such as supporting the Chief Operating Officer with returns, reports and filings for statutory bodies including the Charity Commission, Information Commissioner’s Office, HSE, the Parish and Companies House. Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Act as the Whistleblowing Officer and assist in the working of the Whistleblowing Policy;
• Maintain the declarations of interest and gift registry records;
• Assist the COO in keeping a log of complaints under the Complaints Policy 
• Lead the co-ordination, preparation, planning and follow-up for meetings and other committee work associated with the governance of the Cathedral including Chapter, Finance Committee, Audit and Risk Committee, and Nominations Committee;
• Arrange and manage the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) and parish clerking duties;
• Assist the COO with returns, reports and filings for statutory bodies, the Cathedral's insurers, Association of English Cathedrals etc; 
• Assist the Dean and COO in their governance responsibilities under the Care of Cathedrals Measure 2021;
• Support the COO in the coordination of risk management and Health and Safety Compliance across the organisation; 
• Support data protection compliance across the organisation, working with the Cathedral’s GDPR consultants
• Secretariat support for the Health, Safety and Security Committee meetings
• Develop, monitor and review Cathedral policies and systems to ensure compliance and best practice
• Work with the Cathedral HR team to devise and monitor a regular training schedule to ensure best practice and compliance

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and motivated Programme Manager to lead the Damilola Taylor Trust’s Executive Team, sustain and scale our core youth-focused programmes in South London, providing consistent leadership and operational stability. 

As Programme Manager, you will 

• Manage delivery of the Career pathway programme for schools (CPPFS) courses, which help YP at risk of involvement in criminal activity to engage fully in education by addressing barriers to positive engagement through workshops and career- mentor support at Harris Academies in South London, with a view to reaching 150 students a year.
• Support and supervise the Project Coordinator to implement the project “From Tragedy to Legacy” to celebrate the legacy of Damilola Taylor while highlighting the impact the Trust has made in 25 years supporting young people in inner-city areas of London.
• Lead the Trust’s collaboration initiative with YouthBuild UK, a South London based charity that trains YP to be work ready in a variety of industries including construction, hospitality, customer care and IT to enhance impact of our Career Search and Skills Development (CSSD) programme.
• Design, develop and implement new programmes for delivery in-house or via third party delivery partners
• Agree the Executive Team’s work plan, lead, and motivate staff to create a high-performing team that sustains and scales the impact of our core youth-focused programmes.
• Taking the lead with day-to-day administration and management of the Trust’s programmes, you will maintain a database, produce written communications and reports, information leaflets, website updates, budget monitoring, and negotiate with delivery partners, and manage an array of detailed record keeping
