The Role

Join NCVO as a Credit Controller and play a key role in maintaining financial stability and cash flow by managing outstanding debt, assessing credit risk and ensuring timely payments, while supporting accurate financial reporting, reconciling accounts, resolving queries, and working closely with customers, budget holders and project managers to maintain strong relationships and up-to-date records across systems such as CRM and Business Central.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage outstanding debt, including evaluating credit requests, monitoring debtor balances, preparing aged debt reports, and providing cash flow forecasts
• Reconcile accounts, process invoices and payments, and resolve queries to ensure accurate and timely financial records
• Support monthly income accrual and deferral processes, working with budget holders to maintain accuracy and take corrective action where needed
• Maintain accurate financial and project records, and raise sales and purchase orders in line with agreed processes and contracts
• Collaborate with project managers, department heads and finance colleagues to support smooth financial operations and strong stakeholder relationships

This is a great role for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive and confident working with financial data, while also building strong relationships across teams and with external stakeholders.

Your background:

• Experience in Credit Control, Accounts Receivable or a Debt Management environment
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems (CRM experience desirable)
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage queries and build relationships with a range of stakeholders
• High attention to detail, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
• A proactive, confident and professional approach, with the ability to work under pressure

The Role

The Research Grants Manager leads the design, delivery and governance of the Association’s research funding portfolio. The role ensures that all Association funded research schemes, including fellowships and project grants, are strategically configured, rigorously governed and effectively delivered in line with the Association’s Research Strategy.

The role will ensure that research funding schemes are aligned with external research developments and designed to maximise long-term impact. The Role

The Research Policy and Partnerships Officer monitors UK research policy and governance developments, synthesises evidence and supports preparation of clear internal briefings, policy statements and consultation responses.

This is not a purely technical or policy focused role.  It will be responsible for ensuring our systems and information are safe, resilient, and used responsibly, helping our teams make secure choices in their day-to-day work, and educating staff to understand what this means in practice. The role will play an integral role in ensuring everything we do, and deliver, is secure by default and will ensure a practical, solutions focused approach to risk, helping teams move forward with confidence, building a positive security culture across the organisation.

The role will operate under the strategic direction of the Director of IT, Estates and Digital Transformation, while acting as the organisation’s recognised subject matter expert in cyber security and information security. Key Responsibilities of the Information Security Manager will include:

• Leading our approach to cyber security, risk management, and incident response
• Developing and improving our information security management system, aligned to standards such as Cyber Essentials Plus and NHS DSPT

About the candidate

Candidates should possess a balanced skillset across technical cyber security and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) combined with the ability to translate this into clear, organisation-wide governance and assurance.  They will be comfortable with detail, whilst also providing proportionate, practical oversight at an organisational level.  They should demonstrate:

• Strong technical grounding in cyber security including networks, endpoints, identity, vulnerabilities, and incident response
• Experience in applying that knowledge to real world risk management, not just theoretical controls
• Good understanding of governance, assurance, and security frameworks such as Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO 27001, and NHS DSPT
• Ability to move comfortably between technical detail and clear, plain-English communication for non-technical audiences
• Experience in providing assurance to senior stakeholders such as risk reporting, audit, or governance forums
• An enabling, solutions-focused approach with the ability to balance risk, with the need to get things done
• Strong focus on behaviour and culture, not just controls and policy
• Able to challenge constructively while helping teams find workable solutions
• Comfortable influencing across teams and building trusted relationships

Relevant qualifications or certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or Security+ are helpful.

Whilst a hospice background is not required, applicants should understand the importance of working in a people-focused, regulated environment.

We are looking for a new Independent Sexual Violence Advisor to join our team in providing advocacy and support to survivors of rape/sexual violence and sexual abuse.The ISVA will be based in our central Reading office, with the option of hybrid working. ISVAs will need to travel within Thames Valley to meet clients as required.

Main Purpose of the Role:

To provide advocacy and support to survivors of sexual violence.  The ISVA will support adults who have reported or are wishing to report this crime navigate the criminal justice system. The ISVA will work closely with the Police Service, Sexual Assault Referral Centre, CPS, and other relevant organisations. 

ISVA Main Duties

· Provide advice, guidance and information to adults who have experienced rape and sexual abuse.

· Support service users that have been referred to Trust House Reading.

· Support clients in making informed choices about their future options.

· Explain relevant criminal, legal and civil remedies and housing options to clients as required.

· Assess the risk and support needs of clients.

· Develop individual support plans to address risks /support needs of clients.

· Ensure that clients are aware of the services to which they are entitled and advocate for them to help them access services.

· Understand the legal framework relating to the protection of children and vulnerable adults including the policy and procedures in relation to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.

· Support ISVA clients through the criminal justice system, explaining the procedures and their role and rights within that system, referring to Victim Support or the Witness Care Service as appropriate.

· Support the service user in making a witness statement and attending court.
